Always fancied flying in to Goodwood. A friend of mine flew his flexwing in during the festival of speed and said its got to be on the bucket list as it was awesome.
Thanks for watching 😊👍🏼 Solent radar always seem so busy & keen to move me on (probably my radio skills 😄) whereas Bournemouth seem a little more accommodating 😊
Loved this one, Geoff - you flew right over my childhood stomping grounds! We definitely share an obsession with Stoney Cross, too - I spent some time there back in the summer looking for traces of the old buildings. First training flight towards the NPPL(M) is now complete, so my journey has begun... 🙂 Hopefully see you at the Eurofox meet.
That’s amazing Dan 🥳 I’m so pleased to hear you are progressing with your training 👍🏼 Looking forward to seeing you at Popham & perhaps you can tell me more about what you’ve found at Stoney Cross 🤞🏼
@@FlyingDarkLord That's very much needed at the moment! They say that 'March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb', so I'm sure 1st April will be cute and fluffy. 😉
I love the former new Forest airfields, something to do with the acidity of concrete affecting the soil, so plants don't grow where they once were. They really are ghosts of airfields! Ashley Walk bombing range is another fascination to fly over too. So much in such a small area to enjoy, but must've made for very busy skies around 1942-44.
Thanks very much for letting me know 👍🏼 I had heard a rumour that the site was active but I didn’t really know the official status. I hope the site isn’t being closed permanently 🤞🏼
Great to see that view of Thorney Island. As an ATC cadet(138 Nottm Sqdn) I was at summer camp there in 1970. Happy days. I would love to fly into there someday.
I’m glad it brought back pleasant memories for you. I do hope it doesn’t become another victim of airfield closure & housing development 🤞🏼 It’s a strange one though, no one I speak to knows much about what’s happening with it 🤷🏻♂️ Thanks for watching btw 😊👍🏼
@@FlyingDarkLord Thank you for taking the trouble to reply. Love your channel and it is motivating me to get back into flying at the ripe old age of 68. Fly safe guys.
You MUST do it!!! The first moment you accelerate down that runway & the aircraft starts to want to fly, you’ll immediately remember why it brought you such great joy! Don’t think about it! Pick up the phone tomorrow & book a refresher!!! 😊👍🏼 If you want to try microlights call Mark McClelland on 07976 742170
I never really appreciated the Eurofox till I started watching your channel. It looks a phenominal aircraft. I was always thinking about the EV97 with it's bubble canopy but now feel myself gravitating towards the Eurofox.
I know exactly what you mean 😊 It’s peculiar that we all feel a sense of ‘ownership’ over our ‘turf’ & also how excited we get when we see something or an area we recognise in a video or media article 😊 You do live a beautiful part of the country though & it is wonderful flying over that area, I always enjoy it 😊👍🏼
Nice one Dark Lord…. Never fail to learn something from every video you put out !👍👏 I love listening to the radio calls of pilots…. During circuits at Compton Abbas a while ago we heard …. “ Joining cross leg…” ( which we assumed meant the pilot was desperate for a bladder break ) And …. “…descending dead leg….. “ ( which suggested a cramped cockpit ! )……. Well done 👏 👏 again… Keep ‘em coming, sir…. Captain Ray 👨✈️….
Geoff, that looked a pretty sporting climb out. I hope the coffee and chips filled a hole before departure. Did you traffic avoidance stamp over the radio transmission or can you technically hear them at the same time?
You should be able to hear them at the same time but if you have the volume on the radio set lower than the map it virtually stamps on it 🤦🏻♂️ The climb rate is not quite as impressive two-up 😄
@@FlyingDarkLord Ahh thanks for clarifying. The climb rate still looks good. Putting you hoody up as it was a bit cold made ma laugh. Come and fly in a flexwing :)
I’m not trying to be evasive, but that is difficult to say, for the following reasons… Some of the initial cost was incorporated in the initial purchase price of the aircraft. I then added to the panel incrementally over the last few years. I upgraded to full autopilot. I had the panel itself changed from a metal instrument panel with vinyl wrap to an all carbon panel & then bought more electronic conspicuity. So it was not done in one go. If you want to have a go at pricing it you can visit gps.co.uk which is where I believe all the components were sourced, or speak with Luke Williams from EuroFOX. I’m sorry that probably didn’t help 😳🤦🏻♂️

Definitely my favourite, you’ve got to do it 👍🏼 Thanks for watching & commenting too 🙏🏻
Ha! Only a Eurofox can be off before the numbers 😉! Hope the weather's good for the 1st 🤞
Hey Steve! I hope you’re keeping well 😊
The EuroFOX’s party trick is taking off & climbing! Always great fun 😄👍🏼
Enjoyed that Geoff, and good to hear a bit of banter on the radio 🤣
I love it! 😂
Even in overcast conditions your videos show the beautiful countryside you fly over, Geoff.
I always look forward to your next 👌👍
Thank you so much sir!
Hopefully the weather will improve now we are in spring 🤞🏼
Such a beautiful plane.:)
Thank you very much 😊 & thanks for watching too 👍🏼
Nice video. I always speak to Solent Radar down there.

The music and the 360 video really is very good. Tune never gets old
Thank you very much, I really appreciate you watching & taking time to comment 😊👍🏼
Your Eurofox is quite a rocket ship. An impressive rate of climb.
They are fantastic Aircraft! That little 912iS rocket has been great (so far 😄🤞🏼). I can’t imagine how well they must climb with the Turbo 915iS 😮

It was a bit sketchy 😬🤦🏻♂️😄

It’s fascinating there & so much history, it’s a shame it’s slowly disappearing, but at least we can still explore it for the time being 😊👍🏼
Wow, is that mini fighter jet… that climb 🤘🤘. Brilliant video 👍
That’s with the 912iS engine… imagine how crazy the climb rate would be with the 915iS Turbo 😮

Those are brilliant 😂 I think I might add those to my list of non-standard radio calls!!!
Thanks for watching again Captain 🫡👨🏼✈️
Cheeky little zoom climb out of goodwood
🤔 I wonder where I learned that? 😂👍🏼
Have you seen the “BEAULIEU” lettering just south of the airfield site? Something interesting to keep an eye out for if not!
Oh my goodness! 😮 I have not!!! I’m definitely going to look out for that next time I fly over!
Thanks for the tip 👍🏼
Easily seen on Google maps, to the south eastern corner of the airfield site, just south of the road that runs east/west. Just south of the pond.
I’ll check it out 😊👍🏼

😂😂😂 there was a tiny draft on the back of my neck!
@@FlyingDarkLord oh, critical to the wellbeing and comfort of the pilot then. 👍😁.
@Golf Foxtrot 22 Flexwing pilots are made of tougher stuff! 💪🏼😄👍🏼 Also nothing that chips & coffee won’t fix!
