Denmark isn't actually a whaling country itself - the autonomous territories of Greenland and the Faroe Islands are. They are technically part of the Kingdom of Denmark, but Denmark as a country is only responsible for certain matters, such as international relations. In almost all other matters, such as with whaling, Denmark has no control over Greenland and the Faroe Islands. Denmark also usually doesn't extradite to countries with human rights abuses, and Japan still practices capital punishment, so it's pretty unlikely Paul Watson will be extradited.
@@garethhillary2302 Denmark isn’t a whaling country! Greenland and the Faroe Islands are both part of the Danish Realm aka The Kingdom of Denmark. They handle domestic affairs themselves, but in international affairs the Danish Government gets involved! Both Greenland and the Faroe Islands have community whaling, and they don’t hunt any endangered species. After a Grindadrap, (traditional whale hunt), the meat is distributed in the local community using a system that’s been used since the "Viking" era…. In places like the Faroe Islands and in Greenland, traditional hunting still play a role in ensuring proteins. Unfortunately increased levels of heavy metals will eventually make the meat from whale and seal uneatable = perhaps Watson should be focusing more on that instead of poisoning the well by comparing traditional community based hunting to commercial whaling…

Website of the petition just went down, 60 minutes after this video went live. I'm guessing due to server load. Well done mobilizing people for this topic!
It's definitely back now. Was just there.
Japan is best described as new on the outside (anime, tech etc) but old society on the inside (conservative, elderly having more rights than younger people etc). Unfortunate

And the only country in the world where insurance companies offer insurance cover for men in case of being accused of committing a sexual assault against a woman.

And of course, it's all-wonderful judicial system

Its insane how this has flown under the radar, it should've covered by every news agency but somehow this is the first time i heard about it.
I hope its not too late..
Media is so busy Trump watching they don't have time for real news
He had a TV show for years and was in the news a lot. But as time goes on people stop caring. The show also sucked. Don’t try and turn protests into entertainment
Pretty sure it was in the Times and the Telegraph.
I'm not surprised. It's Japan, and these mofos have a mutual understanding between the government and the media to "not destroy the country's reputation".
Here is another lovely message. Paul Watson has been freed. The Vikings refused Japan's extradition request. One less bit of fuckery in the world !
@thejuicemedia, you are the f@&ing legend for making these honest government adds and bring some light in the heads of all of your audience. Keep them coming!!

@@chrisk6637 This video is in good part about ecology, and well Calastein talked about ecology.
But most people only like ecology when it does not affect their cushioned life.
@@Calastein Nah that's woke shit. Brain, gut and joints need fats to heal from all the pesticides and metals we are exposed to. Needs to be organic, no factory farms, no phosphates and glyphosates that sterilise the soil and pollute proteins in the food chain.
Pollution is the problem. Climate change is real but it's not man made. That's a perversion of the science for political reasons to reduce human access to food and the embrio for a global tax system.
I put forward that anyone who believes otherwise is a domesticated farm animal, useful idiot or ill informed. I don't harbor any malice towards them as most modern Westerners are chemically maimed and hard of thinking. Whale Wars brings back memories, this shitfuckery cannot be looked over and ignored
@@Jonathan-jp4zz chickens, cows, and pigs are indispensable part of the menu. They are bred for that purpose in massive numbers. Whales aren't bred in farms and aren't crucial to our diet in any way. In fact, the only time in human history where it made any sense at all to hunt whales was when we used their fat that for lamps; electricity put an end to this. Hunting whales today is some bullshit cultural nonsense and nothing more.
@@Jonathan-jp4zz 1) there are groups that do that - this is why you get laws in some countries about treatment of chickens/cows/pigs. They are less loud since they are actually backed by government since they do affect the quality of the meat and disease spread.
2) humans expanded the chicken/cow/pigs population to absurd amount, but we can't do the same for whales.
@@Jonathan-jp4zz because 1 they are not as vital to the environment as whales (i do recognize that meat industry does have bad effects on the environmentik ) 2 a lot of developing countries and poor people rely on them , advocating for veganism is good but trying to enforce it on the masses is straight up fascism
@@Jonathan-jp4zz because they where bred for this purpose. We selectively bred them to produce more meat, mature faster etc. We have not bred whales for food. There are simply to few Wales as is.

@@peppermeat8059 To resume whaling for meat as part of the fisheries industry. In Japan they eat literally every other edible thing in the sea. Sea squirts, sea cucumbers, sea urchin, every kind of edible seaweed, and of course every kind of fish and shellfish. Why would they think that whales should have a special exempt status? They're not trying to exterminate them any more than deer hunters are trying to drive deer to extinction. But they want to take a sustainable number to eat.

Trips to Japan and Denmark planned are cancelled. Not giving my tourism money to whaling countries.
Beyond livid that they have done this rather than actually hold Japan to account.
@@garethhillary2302
Denmark isn’t a whaling country!
Dawg denmark is a fine place, this is the worst things we have done in the past decade from what i can remember. Also, its about greenland not denmark. We barely have any control over them, its a part of denmark almost only in name
