Hi we’re New Zealand, we like to have a variety of governments ranging form, actually puts effort into being a government, and a government that likes to “save money” And being in a constant arms race of how much can we undo the previous governments work.
Booo, a government's job is not to save money, it is to ensure the welfare or well being of the citizens (to improve your lives!) Government should be trustworthy and spend on the citizens (see many of the European governments). Save money? That's a corporation and individual's work. The government collects revenue and then spends it in a transparent and accountable process (democracy); no one person in the country is above the law. Where did this notion of governments should 'save money' come from? Sure, in a robust economy that might have been possible (in theory...John Maynard Keynes); but realistically it doesn't happen in developed countries today.

That is why I have been telling anyone that will listen it is past time we voted for 'Parties' & instead voted for 'Ministers'. Let say the Minister of Education's term is up, all those that want the job advertise their policy, the benefits, the costs & time required to implement that policy. We the voters then select the policy we want implemented & elect that person as the Minister of Education for the duration of the time to implement that policy with quarterly reports required on their progress. If they are failing to meet their policy targets the voters get to decide if we scrap that policy or replace the minister. Once a policy is implemented it can't be removed unless we vote it out.

Hi we’re New Zealand, we like to have a variety of governments ranging form, actually puts effort into being a government, and a government that likes to “save money”
And being in a constant arms race of how much can we undo the previous governments work.

We allowed Capitalism to run rampant by eroding public institutions which gave oligarchs complete control over everything. Economy is not that complex, but some people act like it is so you don't even try to understand what is going on.
If you focus on taking right action now - regenerative, in community, and within your personal health capacity - while letting go of the outcome, which you cannot control, you may well find yourself smiling despite the dire conditions we’ve created on this planet.
Fascism and neo-liberalism are destroying not only any semblance of democracy, but more importantly our shared biosphere, read only habitat, and rapidly too. We may or may not be able to change the course of this. That isn’t the point, though.
I’m not talking about giving up here, this is about how to reframe your thinking so as to give yourself the best possible basis for doing whatever you are able to do to create the world you want to live in without wearing yourself out in the process, something these people would like you to do.
You may want to look up Joanna Macy’s Active Hope for more on what I mean and for inspiration on how to put this into practice.
Democracy gives people the power to change the ruler. However, when the candidates are chosen by the ruling establishment and not the people, that power is pointless.
Then it's up to the blood sweat and tears of the people to demand fair elections. And then it's up to the blood sweat and tears of the ruling party if they deny the people
That is why I have been telling anyone that will listen it is past time we voted for 'Parties' & instead voted for 'Ministers'.

Meh, democracy was never really a great idea because governments will just dumb you down, making you incapable of doing even the most basic tasks. Dumb people end up voting with their emotions instead of logic, and governments know that these people can be exploited without noticing, since smart people can’t be exploited as easily. Also, the ideal form of government, in my opinion, is something like what you see in Singapore or Malaysia.
Malaysia is also built on liberal democracy, but not as totalitarian as Singapore but more racist perhaps.
You missed Bangladesh🇧🇩, where our righteous "pro-liberation" government arrested opposition before the elections after they boycotted it and organised "a free and fair election" with dummy independent candidates winning a large number of seats and finally calling itself a best example of democracy😂

As important as this is, in my country South Africa, the ruling party of 30 years has lost its majority. Who knows what will happen, but the people have spoken. Democracy has worked.
And now Modi also lost majority, so he has to work with a coalition or the opposition will form the government. So democracy sometimes works!

@@afrazahmad6467 I see... propaganda
It is really true.
There are a few problems in Islamabad.
If it is in the capital, then I wonder how other cities, especially rural areas are facing.
I went to Lahore some months ago, and the fog was so bad that you cant litreally see whats ahead when driving.
I also went to Multan and saw people living in poor conditions and playing in the mud. All because the current Pakistani government is incapable of handling the administration. They must be using the money from international aid for it for its own selfish desires. I always thought Pakistan is a perfect country, until I read my 9th grade history textbook. It changed my whole perspective. Litreally every Pakistani government were either found fraudulent or incompetent(except for Quaid's government and am not sure about PTI government). It is unfortunate to know that Pakistan has a lot of potential, yet exploiting them is quite difficult. You can take Balochistan as an example, it has a lot of minerals yet it lacks facilities to extract. I do believe that 1 day, youth revolution will take place in the country. When it happens, the 77 year trap will come to an end.
@@rookieanimatormakingaviationI dont see Indians saying that quite often. When I say something like that, I get criticized either way. Its good to see people like you. ❤️
The Indonesian one is more deep than that, the next vice president is actually the current president's son. The thing is he was unqualified based on the age bar, but the constitution suddenly change the minimum age rule.
And it's happening again in regency scale, the rule for city mayor is suddenly lowered to 30 (hint: his 2nd son is 29 y.o), guess who will came forward to take the mayor spot next election

Honestly, India's election results show that democracy in India though under danger is still somewhat intact
India's election integrity is fine. Democracy however includes more including media, judiciary, etc. The media has been completely occupied and devastated for years now. And now the judiciary is getting rhe punches too. Unfortunately, even the independent judiciary isn't any non-corrupt. Judges are just a bunch of nepotist free loaders.
