Hey man, I am having a weird issue where only my right side cooling fan is working. The left side fan only makes a ticking noise once in a while, as its attemping to kick on. Would it be wise to give it a quick check by opening the rear. Or could it be possible that its a software issue?
In my dell g3 I have cracking sound on every shutter down and the hinge (with g3 label ) is getting lifted on every shutter down.
How can I fix it ?

Sounds like you either need to tighten up some screws or a failed hinge

Everything seems to work fine while I was removing the cover however, the screw on the right corner by the plug in port seems to be stuck. Should I use more force or not?
i would twist it a few more times then, force the cover off at the opposite corner and work my way over to it, then try and unscrew it again, then use force to take it off

I am planning to buy this laptop.
Usage: Android Development, Light game development, Light editing on After effects, and moderate gaming.
I am currently using an Asus K555L which has been shit with its built quality and heating issues.
I am confused about whether or not this is a reliable option (i5 9th gen with 1650) or should I go for the Inspiron 15 5590 i5 10th gen.
if there is any other laptop in a similar range i.e under 930$ please suggest.
After the terrible quality of the Asus, reliability and quality are a big deal for me.

No I don't but once you get inside, there is simple instructions on the 2.5" enclosure

Hey man, I know its a year after you commented, but I guess its important to tell you nevertheless. I got this laptop last month and it was working fine. But then, just yesterday, I heard the same noises when I tried to close it. When I took a peak in the back, it was almost totally opened and the hinges in the center were exposed. Today I sent them by mail so Dell could repair it, but for what I searched in the web, it happens very, VERY often with this model. A shame, because the PC itself is an excellent machine :/
i don't know if i don't have chance but after 3 month of using, the hinge of the screen got break so the screen falling ... it's my 2nd laptop and i have everytime the same issue... maybe i use it wrong, what can i do ?
Everyone is facing the same problem with the G3 3590, check either reddit or dell forums. Its a fault in the design, and it will always occur with time. After opening and closing the screen multiple time, the hinge connected to the screen will get loosen. Its a laptop designed to be a desktop PC. And I have the same problem as you.

Aw, my dell g3 15 hinge cracked and a bit of the adhesive used on the border of the screen is coming apart. Would I be able to repair the screen myself?
typically when hinges start failing, they usually destroy the mounting point (the plastic they screw to)
If thats the case this isn't a good thing, and there not much i can recommend doing sorry

Do the vents heat up the bottom of panel while gaming? Because when screen opens bottom bezel blocks the vents.

@@kaushalpandya4093 In my experience, the fans shouldn't be there, the bottom of the screen gets too hot in a use for games or heavy applications, in my case the hinges came off and broke :/
i Bought this laptop in October, and by January the hinge has broken and now de-laminates. Normal use, no dropping, very careful with this laptop. I called Dell support who laughed at me and said I dropped the laptop. I will never buy Del products again. Cheaply made, very disappointed.

@@rickstechrepairs No they did not. I'm very disappointed .. this is clearly a design flaw since literally thousands of people have had the same issue. Even day 1 of the owning it, it felt flimsy.
Even on their OWN forums there are thousands compaling about it. They could just replace everyone's laptop with a newer designed one. They are a multi million dollar company. It wouldn't hurt them to do so. But they are greedy and have shirty customer service so they won't. I ended up bringing it to a repair shop and it cost me $250 bucks. The owner said he sees this all the time with these "shitty built" dell laptops

getting basically burning the touch isn't right, getting hot yes but burning keyboard shouldnt be the case, i would contact Dell and have a chat with them

There are almost no new laptops that can have their GPU upgraded.

3:20 moment when you broke the 2 small plastic clip ,between the two middle screws. I tried everything not to break it ,using very thin plastic and zero force ,still did it too
It wouldn't surprise me that it's basically a bobytrap, so dell can tell easily if it's been opened

Followed the exact steps carefully, did it with my Dell G3 15" GTX1650 i7, and then put everything back together but my PC isn't starting up...
when that happens first thing i try is
open the laptop, disconnect the battery
leave it disconnected
loosely put the bottom cover on, connect to AC power
try and power then
Buyer beware faulty hinges on Dell laptop's. Gaming laptop, Dell is not standing behind their faulty design.
Dell certainly has gotten worse over time
