Learn the basics and play them over and over again, until you hate drumming. Then play them some more. Or watch Tony Royster on the Roland TD30 and think, "why bother - I'll get a guitar". ;-)
"Don't know where to start"..C'Mon! Go get a cheap kit (that's what I did when I was a 5th grader in 89)& listen, play & learn! I didn't have TH-cam but I put on the headphones & plugged them into the stereo & listened to the radio & played every song that came in every style & cranked up Metallica & Pantera to get myself good. All you need is some drums & a little drive & progress & figure it out. You live in a time where everything is handed to you so you have no excuses cuz there are 100 + instructional videos on TH-cam. "Don't know where to start"... give me a break.
