The "C-Consciousness" name is actually very creative.. just not in it's English form. In Russian it's "Общее Сознание" (Collective Consciousness), but when you shrink it down to "О-Сознание" it morphs into a new word - "осознание", that can be interpreted both as "awareness" or "realization".

Oddly enough, there's a Fallout 4 modlist called "Lost World" that attempts to bring the Zone to Fallout. It's interesting, but something doesn't feel as good to me. Fallout feels like the draw range is much smaller than Anomaly's and consequently it's relying on close range jump scare spawns as opposed to STALKER where I can use binoculars/scopes to steer clear of danger. (I'm lazy and just using the Gamma list for Anomaly addons).

STALKER, however, takes place in the modern times, so all of the weapons, tech, etc is up to par as to modern tech. Fallout spans the entirety of the US, Stalker is just the CNPP and the surrounding regions.

In Stalker there's no fake Romans, player's avatar is a cannon fodder like any other NPC, when it die in game there is only corpse on the ground and simple, cold information "Lost in the Zone" on screen. No phatetic speech will comfort you, after you mess up, because you are not "the chosen one". And last but not least, Stalker is NOT the post-apocalyptic world to begin with. Weird s*it is happening ONLY in the Chernobyl's exclusion zone. Behind the barbed wire fences of the Cordon there is just regular, unaffected world, where people are living their day to day lives. Yeah... I would STRONGLY suggest playing the original trilogy before diving into Anomaly. The story is wonderful, and having the background of experiencing them first will definitely enrich your experience of Anomaly. Also, you'd be supporting the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. developers, and they could really use it right now as they continue trying to work on S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 during the war. Also, become friends with the "F6 - Quick Save"/"F7 - Quick Start from last Quick Save" buttons. In intense battles, if the heat is simply too much, you can save after ever good run of taking out a few enemies, and you won't have to start the entire battle over if the enemy gets a good shot on you. Also, quick save as you traverse the many kilometers while exploring; I've many a time lulled into a trance of experiencing the atmosphere of the Zone, forgetting to hit F6, only to get taken out by a sudden pack of mutated dogs, with the result that I lost 40 minutes or more of game play!
Another reason to save occasionally is a Shadow of Chernobyl bug where a save will be corrupted in a way where the game will crash every 10 seconds. Just started playing into the radius and fell in love. Learned that the game is very similar to stalker so I started learning what the game is about. Watched a few videos and by far yours has been one of the best. Drewski has a high production value, but you format the video so much better for a game like this. You introduced the background and lore of the game and universe. Explain basic gameplay experience. And show a quick installation overview. This was perfect for a community type game like this. Great job 👍
Was looking for a new game to play. Always heard this game was good. Think I'll try this without any mods for a bit. Thanks for the info. Surprised this doesn't have more views. Hopefully when stalker 2 comes out people check out this video. Might get that game too when it's released.
They highly recommend checking out stalker anomaly, one of the most polished ways of enjoying the series and being free is just awesome. The original Three stalker games have their appeal for sure though, so if you find yourself enjoying anomaly you may end up getting those three as well lol
8:39 - COP was originally released in 2009, at least in CIS countries and Europe. 2010 was for US. Back in 2009 i was going to buy it, but due to echonomical crisis both in the world and my family, i couldn't afford it, and i still don't have a physical copy to complete my collection (i could try buy used, but i'm not sure if it's gonna be in good condition), only digital one... and i still haven't played it (it's a long and sad story, and i don't think anybody's interested in it).
Great video. I had no idea you only jad a little bit of subs unstill you mentioned it. From one small youtuber to another you deserve more! As a long time stalker fan I loved the video. It was informative, funny at times, and well paced. I'm gonna share it to my friend.
I came to this video out of sheer luck, I been playing stalker since it came out 2007, but sir this video was fun indeed! Already subscribed for more fun, see you in the zone!
We need you to pick up Stalker again and talk about Gamma! Would be awesome, hearing you talk about the Gamma Mod's! Also who says definitely not a Hedgehog, is definitely a Hedgehog!
Anybody know if there are plans to release Stalker to consoles? I would have thought some sort of plan would have been in place in advance of the release of Stalker 2, which is coming to consoles as well as PC. But I've seen nothing as of yet, at least on Xbox.
if im not mistaken, back in the day there were all kinds of conspiracy theories about the Duga rader being used for mind controlling one of the cities out there in experiments or something - plus the "noosphere" was an actual theory from back in the day, which makes all of it kind of grounded in theories, conspiracy, rumor, and hearsay - and I love it
Cool video, just got into stalker in recent months and I can’t stop😂 My only nitpick with the video isn’t as a stalker fan, but as a Halo fan; Master Chief is 7’ tall not 8’
Should review Stalker Gamma ;) - Its harder than anomaly, its basically 300+ mods grouped together, to create a more challenging play, if you( anyone has not tried it) you should. Oh and there is also a discord for the Gamma mod package where the people is very helpful. On stalker 2, they relocated to Czechia. But a couple of the devs are in the Ukrainian army fighting, least what i heard from someone.
Impressive, Provak modpack is great but for the kids, you probably heard about 'Escape from Pripyat' modpack, that's where the Fallout fans are crying and grown up are screaming in pain, it's easy to install too, and it's the best experience for Anomaly in my opinion (I'm masochist) , you should try it.
I think it's fair to compare the Bethesda fallouts to stalker, but the originals and new vegas are way too different to be compared. One is a survival style fps, the other is about classic role playing. If you don't understand this difference, then that speaks to how bad of a critic you are.
Both the GAMMA and EFP modpacks for Anomaly bring over 300 curated mods into the game, and because they are completely managed via Discord, you essentially DO have a place to go to ask for help with a problem. I've been playing both, and though I prefer EFP for a number of reasons, both are really well put-together modpacks and either one will give you 100's of hours of "Fallout for Adults" 😂
I played a game of anomaly for probably around 40 hours last summer, and i loved it but it kicked my ass. Shit was so hard to get used to but it was fun as shit. I'm now at college and only have an Xbox so i'm downloaded New Vegas to get my fix. I have to say, its fun but not nearly as atmospheric as Stalker. And its way too easy.
I've been playing anomaly with mods for a couple weeks and my god it is absolute hell. I use at least 26-30 mods and if one thing fucks the game up I have to delete everything and re download all the mods and with shitty internet that gets old really fast
@@Bojoints all the mods I use normally work perfectly together it's just if I add a completely new mod on it could just cause my game to literally not open so I'm forced to delete the gamedata folder and re download everything
@@Xenobane i recom looking for the ModPacks instead modding the game yourself, Gamma, Escape from Prypiat, and the Dark signal, Dark signal is the best for new players because it doesnt "overhaul" the game, just improves Graphics/Sound and QoL and adds more weapons.
BTW, i got a digital version of poster for Shadow Of Chernobyl, in a very good quality, not scanned (it's from a digital version of one gaming magazine, they were giving away their catalog when they stopped making physical versions). Not that yellow and ugly with a creepy face (for US), but the original one, in a style of CS and COP covers (a guy standing in front of a collage of various pictures in a radiation symbol). If anybody wants it, i could try to post a links here.
The difference between explorer and adventurers is that you can take an adventure to pretty much anywhere, but you have to explore something new. Google: Exploerer: A person who explores an unfamiliar area; an adventurer. Adventurer: Engage in hazardous and exciting activity, especially the exploration of unknown territory. The key words here being "especially" and "unknown" as that is not always what and adventure is. EXAMPLE: "I went on an adventure to the store and explored their new isle."
Made me laugh out loud several times, which is pretty rare for youtube. Super underrated content, keep it up. Just got into the Stalker games recently after seeing that new drewski video that blew up. Man I'm glad I tried it, it's definitely one of the best games I've ever played, and I had never even heard of stalker until I tried anomaly. Free fallout based in Chernobyl? Sign me the fuck up.
Fun fact: C-Consciousness in Russian translates to О-сознание. Сознание is consciousness, but if you add o at the beginning of the word, Осознание, now it means Realization. Pretty cool
Stalker was a fantastic 1979 film by Andrei Tarkovsky, of which was the source material for the franchise. If you haven't watched it, I would definitely recommend it. It's a cinematic masterpiece.
In an era where mutually assured destruction is once again in the headlines, can we please at least have the sense of severity to pronounce the word correctly? It's nuclear, not nuke-u-lar. Those of us who had to live through 8 years of George Bush Jr. really appreciate it
Modpacks are *the* way of modding the game, Gamma, Escape from Prypiat, and the Dark signal, Dark signal is the best for new players because it doesnt "overhaul" the game, offers pretty much vanilla exp it just improves Graphics/Sound(and the sounds are fucking DECENT cuz exported from AAA games, emissions and even basic mutants can make one shit themself) and adds some QoL and more weapons. Modpacks are pretty stable and it's hard to screw up something yourself.
I will say though, if you play the modpack, G.A.M.M.A. for Anomaly they have a whole discord with a troubleshooting and help section if you ever experience crashes or any nutty completely game breaking bugs and usually have ways to fix it. They definitely helped me out.
I finished this in all its forms COC ,COC misery mod , Misery standalone (probably the hardest of them all) Dead air , Last day , Anomaly and now Gamma . If you never played any go straight for gamma as its nicely balanced
S.T.A.L.K.E.R is genuinely one of if not my favorite game series EVER. Generally can't wait for S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2. Hopefully the devs can make the game soon and maybe get to a safer location to make the game itself anyway.
The question proposed implies that Fallout is made for children. I disagree. I have a great love for both games, but simply adding complexity doesn't make the game more "grown up" in my opinion. The themes and stories within both have a lot of crossover.
Doing a video on the original stalker games is definitely on the table, but I think I prefer to wait till right before stalker 2 comes out, because the stalker franchise will be on everybody's mind.
@@DefinitelyNotaHedgehog will thanks for shearing :) . also are you going cover other stalker mods like oblivion lost or are you just going to keep to anomaly.
@@samargrewal929 I'll definitely keep it in mind, but I currently don't have any plans for content on other stalker mods. The game just sucks you in so strong I'd probably drop like another 200 hours if I'm not careful lol
I belive you've forgotten to mention the atmosphere and immersion of the game. In Fallout games all NPCs just roam around aimlessly in circles or simply stand in one place throughout the whole game, waiting for the player to do something. In STALKER however, apart from the few important characters, NPCs have their "own" lifes - they hunt mutants, search for artifacts, fight against other factions, gain and lose territory, explore the zone and when it's dark they sit in a bar or around campfires playing guitar, talking, telling jokes and drinking vodka. The world does not revolve around you and wait for your action, you're just a little part of it.
I've started playing stalker a week ago and I have to say this game is great of Course I am not yet playing stalker anomaly nor gamma But the franchise is really fun and challenging I started with clear sky sadly since in my country games in steam aren't that cheap and the entire trilogy cost quit a lot clear sky is the one I could play and so far I am loving it even I am making a few runs I am a fallout fan but this game feels way more rewarding and challenging
Well you asked and I can’t help but to answer. I see explorers as someone looking to find anything and everything, while an adventurer is on a mission for something specific to complete their adventure.
You've given me a great idea for an Ironman run -- Vodka Only Run. I'm allowed no other items but vodka, vodka accessories, vodka related paraphernalia and anything that seems like a good idea at the time while under the influence of vodka (so lots of IEDs, an axe and an Obrez)
Dude. Great video. Like, if Seth Rogan and Chris Pratt both stepped into a teleporter, and only one person came out, and that person decided to make an awesome Stalker Anomanly video... this is that... stuff. This would be that.

Great job 👍
STALKER 2's development team actually up and moved out of Ukraine to finish the game.
@12:58 we can all see how full that bottle is Hog, you aren't fooling anyone :P
Im'ma chug the rest right now just for you 😜
8:39 - COP was originally released in 2009, at least in CIS countries and Europe.
Happy to hear you enjoyed it 🤠 I'll be sure to check out your channel when I get a chance.
I came to this video out of sheer luck, I been playing stalker since it came out 2007, but sir this video was fun indeed! Already subscribed for more fun, see you in the zone!
Thank you I'm happy you liked it! I'm so looking forward to stalker 2 😁
Just got into stalker today and stumbled across your channel, Great vid resulted in a quick ass sub. keep it up my guy.
I like your narrating, not to mention you featured my favourite game mate! you earned yourself a sub
3:05 Actually they moved their base of operations into Prague! So the game is being made in the Czech Republic atm.
That is fantastic news! 🤠
@@DefinitelyNotaHedgehog indeed so there is hope left that they'll get to finish it by the end of the year. Fingers crossed!
I can't wait to make a video on stalker 2 😎
Damn dude watched the vid and when you mentioned a bigger audience was surprised you didn't have more. Here's a sub my guy you truly deserve it.
if im not mistaken, back in the day there were all kinds of conspiracy theories about the Duga rader being used for mind controlling one of the cities out there in experiments or something - plus the "noosphere" was an actual theory from back in the day, which makes all of it kind of grounded in theories, conspiracy, rumor, and hearsay - and I love it
4:31 Never before have I seen such a bad take. Refering to the DND style morality paper.
for more experience play at the hard and survivalist mode as a bandit
instant sub your perfect background music while im gaming
Cool video, just got into stalker in recent months and I can’t stop😂
My only nitpick with the video isn’t as a stalker fan, but as a Halo fan; Master Chief is 7’ tall not 8’
Should review Stalker Gamma ;) - Its harder than anomaly, its basically 300+ mods grouped together, to create a more challenging play, if you( anyone has not tried it) you should.
Oh and there is also a discord for the Gamma mod package where the people is very helpful.
On stalker 2, they relocated to Czechia. But a couple of the devs are in the Ukrainian army fighting, least what i heard from someone.
This guy looks like Jack black and starlord together
Great video keep it up. Great personality and amazing game taste! Subbed
I've seen some things about that escape from pripyat, it looks pretty wild lol I'll definitely need to check it out.
"Fallout for adults" is the best description of stalker I've ever heard lol
I think it's fair to compare the Bethesda fallouts to stalker, but the originals and new vegas are way too different to be compared. One is a survival style fps, the other is about classic role playing. If you don't understand this difference, then that speaks to how bad of a critic you are.
I hope you get to make more of these reviews rather than just shorts
Both the GAMMA and EFP modpacks for Anomaly bring over 300 curated mods into the game, and because they are completely managed via Discord, you essentially DO have a place to go to ask for help with a problem. I've been playing both, and though I prefer EFP for a number of reasons, both are really well put-together modpacks and either one will give you 100's of hours of "Fallout for Adults" 😂
fuck big companies , stalker modders are ALWAYS working and improving ... just keep a BACKUP before installing a new mod and you'll be FINE!
Using that many mods is just asking for trouble
I don't think I've been so enamored with a universe than I have been with the S.T.A.L.K.E.R games.
The difference between explorer and adventurers is that you can take an adventure to pretty much anywhere, but you have to explore something new.
Google:
Exploerer: A person who explores an unfamiliar area; an adventurer.
Pretty cool
In 2007 my life changed forever......Thank You, S.T.A.L.K.E.R.!!!!!
Stalker was a fantastic 1979 film by Andrei Tarkovsky, of which was the source material for the franchise. If you haven't watched it, I would definitely recommend it. It's a cinematic masterpiece.
Before that there's a book which is arguably drawn influence
@@thelemon5069 Roadside Picnic, it's very good.
In an era where mutually assured destruction is once again in the headlines, can we please at least have the sense of severity to pronounce the word correctly? It's nuclear, not nuke-u-lar. Those of us who had to live through 8 years of George Bush Jr. really appreciate it
Best thing about anomaly and Gamma, the modpacks are there compleatly free and standalone, you dont need the orginal games
One way to tell how popular a game/franchise is; is by how much extra content the community has made for it.
Nice review and edititing but, NuCLEAR my guy nucular is something else.
Really enjoyed it. Any chance of future stalker content from you? Maybe a let's play livestream on TH-cam?
Modpacks are *the* way of modding the game, Gamma, Escape from Prypiat, and the Dark signal, Dark signal is the best for new players because it doesnt "overhaul" the game, offers pretty much vanilla exp it just improves Graphics/Sound(and the sounds are fucking DECENT cuz exported from AAA games, emissions and even basic mutants can make one shit themself) and adds some QoL and more weapons. Modpacks are pretty stable and it's hard to screw up something yourself.
nice job with the cutscenes from the old games while telling the story.
They have been in Prague since war started so they are safe
The question proposed implies that Fallout is made for children. I disagree. I have a great love for both games, but simply adding complexity doesn't make the game more "grown up" in my opinion. The themes and stories within both have a lot of crossover.
could you do the OG games next or another mod like gunslinger ? that would be nice :)
Watching people play STALKER in 3rd person POV is so funny
"Bumrush" is the most adequate description for this game I get after ~50h in.
thats a good video man, glad to see small youtubers putting that much effort into them
An adventurer is someone who visits and "explores" places already discovered. An explorer is someone who wants to visit or see something new.
it's crazy the amount of effort that people put on this mod, just for pure appreciation of the original franchise. Nice vid m8
Modder community and still active players keep the franchise alive basically.
Just subscribed. The vodka at the end was perfect ending to video.
Only things missing from this is pvp mode where it has 9 players on a server one on each faction and its basically warfare with PVP
Anomaly doesn't have a Network game but Call of Pripyat has a sort of Multiplayer team Death match and Anomaly uses the Call of Pripyat as a Base
The thing is... Stalker ain't post-apocalyptic. And definitely NOT rpg.
Happy I came across this channel man great content
okay but i thought you would have like hundreds of thousands of subs ngl, the quality of the content is fuckin awesome, keep it up dude :)
Be interesting to see what your thoughts are on the latest modpacks for anomaly like EFP and GAMMA.
The Metro music is much appreciated 👍
ah i just started about a week ago a tip i can give to new players avoid chimera
😅
Fallout 1 and 2 are Fallout games for grown-ups
Then there stalker gamma up to 420 mods now
What if Hamburger mod? I’d like to see that
I'm sure in a proper post apocalyptic situation hamburgers would still exist lmao
@@DefinitelyNotaHedgehog yes packaged in a bag and labeled as “fresh”
I started using the GAMMA mod pack, it has like 300 mods in it. I can never go back to vanilla anomaly after playing it
I've started playing stalker a week ago and I have to say this game is great of Course I am not yet playing stalker anomaly nor gamma
But the franchise is really fun and challenging I started with clear sky sadly since in my country games in steam aren't that cheap and the entire trilogy cost quit a lot clear sky is the one I could play and so far I am loving it even I am making a few runs
I am a fallout fan but this game feels way more rewarding and challenging
Unpopular opinion. These two games are less comparable than people think.
Oh fuck i wish my best of luck to any poor bastard that comes across you my friend
So quirky.
My first foray into stalker was Gamma. I have no regrets
Correction: fallout 1 and 2 is fallout for adults
My nephews love this game !
Dude. Great video. Like, if Seth Rogan and Chris Pratt both stepped into a teleporter, and only one person came out, and that person decided to make an awesome Stalker Anomanly video... this is that... stuff. This would be that.
Subed beffore 1k. Dont worry, keep this up and youl do much better that expected mr :) tshiki briki!
