    I inherited a Toro brand from my generous neighbor and on that model Toro has regular bolts and not shear pins. The claim is that if there is an obstruction the machine's engine will shut down prior to any other failure and therefore there is no need for shear pins. Lots of people I talk to say they never heard of that.

    • @BrucesShop
      @BrucesShop  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would very much doubt that. I think shear pins with save the gear box on the auger shaft.

    That is a big monster blower . I put anti-seize on the shear pins to make sure they come out . Great video .

    MTD cheaped out with plastic bushings and no grease zerks on their snowblowers. I tell my customers to rock the tines before each use to verify if any of the pins are sheared. On those and the TroyBilts I usually zip tie a bag of 10 pins and clips to the handlebars!

      @@BrucesShop looks more solid than I expected would expect a 2018ish snowblower to be. Must be a good one. Of course, they probably sell better snowblowers up your way, no one would want the poorly made ones in an area that your quality of life might depend on a good one. Here on the 43rd Parallel, someone that has a snowblower might not use it every year, if they can get it started with that last year’s gas still in the tank.
