We did our tour in February and July-August. The comparisons are given between monsoon and winter. April and may would be the summer. The weather might be clear but hotter and with less water if there's no rain nearby.
We are planning on the April 1 st week. How will be the weather. Shall i get the crystal clear water in Dawki.
There will be so less amount of water in that time if there's no accidental rain within nearby time. The driest time for meghalay visit.
I'm planning to go in Cherrapunji 1st week of June. How much rainfall I'm expected to face? Will that affect the tour?
I dont think that there's heavy rain in that time unless the havoc created in the bay of bengal due to low pressure. Please check the weather update before going there.

Yes the time is likely perfect for all the combination.
I think it's good to visit Cherrapunji during winter... because in monsoon, there's no visibility due to clouds and fogs( When there's no visibility, what's the purpose of sight seeing?)... Moreover it's risky to ride bike, drive car in rain due to low visibility in monsoon.
Yes it's a bit cloudy in the monsoon but it's another level experience.

মে মাসে গেলে তুলনামূলক গরমটা বেশি পাওয়ার কথা, ওই সময়ের আশেপাশে বৃষ্টি হলে ঝর্ণাতে পানি পাবেন আর সেরকম না হলে পানি কম থাকার কথা।
মেঘালয় বর্ষাকালে আলাদারকম সুন্দর তবে এতো ছোট বাবু নিয়ে বৃষ্টিতে ভেজা সম্ভবনা। তাই আপনাদের জন্য নভেম্বর ডিসেম্বর একটা ভালো সময় হতে পারে।

Nope, We did our 1st meghalay trip in that time period. It will be rainy but no need to worry. Enjoy.

Meghalay isnt popular for snow, its attractive for its greeny hills, canyons, caves & waterfalls. But snowfall often occurs in shillong which is rare scenario.

Cool and calm nature of meghalaya. The falls would be low in flow and the river will be crystal clear.

Rain in Meghalaya is blessing but if u dont like rain u can postpone ur trip to November.

Hello, we are planning to go during the June 27 - July 5. Can we be able to experience the crystal clear water at Dawki? Or the monsoon will start by then?
Most probably the monsoon will arrive by then. But you will get some unexpected waterfalls created by monsoon if it happens.
Iam planning to visit meghalaya for 6 days in February 2nd week..will it be good!! I need a decent amount of water flow in falls and also not the muddy color…will it be good to postpone the trip to November.-please suggest a month that I get water flow as well as the clear blue water Pls…….
You better wait for November as you mention to experience. For better waterflow you must plan for monsoon and avoid heavy rainfall by closely observing the weather forecast.

There might be regular rainfall in that time period. Please check the weather update beforehand leaving for cherrapunji.
I had a quick question for you, we are planning to visit at the time of Christmas... Is double decker root bridge worth it at this time? Also if you could suggest some places it would be great. Thanks in advance 😊😊
By that time double decker bridge would be nice but the water stream beneath the bridge will have less water and if u are interested to extend that upto rainbow falls that would also offer you less water but you will have a great weather to enjoy the trek. You should focus on the view points and the caves like mawsmai, arwah and avoid the light waterfalls. But also which waterfalls have reservoir they would likely to give a magnificent bluish vibe like krang suri, phe phe, wei swadong.
We are planning to travel last week of july for 7 days. Will there be excessive rainfall and cause problems?
Please check the weather update before leaving and act accordingly. In recent time there's so much rain. It may be reduced by the end of the month. Have a safe travel.

Meghalaya can be visited any time but you should wait two more months to get the full flow in the falls. July-September is better if you want waters in the falls and with the full of cloud experience.

In this year rain came early .....so you can go on may but on average june - september is suitable to visit meghalaya for full flow of waterfalls.

Waterflow will be much reduced if there's no rainfall in that time. This monsoon is comparatively dry than the previous years. So expect less amount of water. But the color of water beneath the falls would be lovely bluish green.

You can roam there in scooty but you have to get proper information about flood just before going there.

Yes u can do boating, kayaking, snorkeling in dawki and ziplining in krang suri if & only if there is no flash flood or heavy rain in that time period.

Obviously u can visit there in may or june but the amount of stream of waterfall will be depend on the rainfall. If theres enough rain the waterfall would be lively.

Pls try to visit the source of Nohkalikai & Wei Swadong of Cherrapunji. The blue colored falls will blow your mind & if possible include zip line in your activity which provide better view in winter.

I can't really comment about that coz we dont ride that much. But i assume if u drive safe it won't be a great problem. We have seen lots of two wheeler on the road during our travel.

November is a good time to visit Shillong as u may get comparatively dry weather as well as moderate flow of the waterfalls.

Normally the rain would be lesser in that time but check the forecast regularly if any low pressure arise in the ocean can create a lot of rainfall.

The temperature will be chilling near about 6-10 degree sometimes even lower & if enough lucky may have snowfall too though its very rare. 3-4 layer will do, target the waterfalls which represents magnificent bluish color & also have the plan for view points. And obviously follow the precautions against covid. Best of luck mate.

Our team visited Meghalaya last week. Now the temperature is perfect, not much cold not too hot. But its much cold when u get surrounded by cloud. So get ur normal clothing, have a raincoat & a medium type sweatshirt/ warm cloth.

If you are really interested to visit the waterfalls then you should pick the monsoon period (June - September) for the best view. In January - April waterflow of the falls would be less but you can find the bluish reservoir in that time.

Typically October-November is the transition period between monsoon & winter. September is the last period of monsoon with regular rain but in this year due to climate change rainfall becomes irregular & erratic.

The shot of Krangsuri winter season used in this video was captured in february. & i think u might get that type of flow in January too. In monsoon u will definitely get much more water but scenic blue will be missing.
