My first lynch mining paydirt arrived. Panned the Belmont 5lb unclassified, only about .48 grams. But I just did a dry picking of the Reserve and already found .78 grams without even panning. Still got a Gizmos Supremo to go through and a Black Label Reserve. Thanks for all the videos and advice! It really helped when checking out.
Richard Powell , Awesome! I got a total of 0.0428 grams from the Belmont and ended up with 2.201 grams from the Reserve XL (14 pickers totaled 0.871 grams)
I have been making and using these for years but with a longer sluice I like the V mat I found through years of testing it's easy to clean and it catches all the gold
I believe you mislabeled the mats.. The V mat is the Vortex and the 2nd mat you ran is called the Gold Stop mat and is directional, mine came with an arrow marked on the back showing flow direction.
Nope, got them right. Gold stop is not the same as vortex matting. Vortex matting is actually just conveyor belt material repurposed for catching gold. From the picks I have seen, I am pretty sure Gold Stop is just a different type of conveyor belt matting repurposed. The matting sold with the sluice is a V mat, due to its V shaped grooves. They also sell it with vortex matting but I just added my own.

Thank you, teacher. I have joined the Lynch Dirt of the Month Club and have over 21 lbs of dirt to plan. I finally got some spare time and went through my first 3 lb bag with the vmat, and damn, there was a lot of gold. I'll use the vortex mat tonight. With the -40 mesh, it's either not there or I can't see it. After this is the Blue Bowl. Have you done video on the Miller Table?
Yea my son loved it. After I finished shooting review he ran the same dirt through it about 100 times, lol. SO now I need to order another one for me to use/modify/play with, lol.

That should work, I wouldnt go beyond that. If it blows out the gold raise it 1/2" at a time. I wanted to build one but nobody sells the "U" shaped gutter with the rolled inside edge near me.

Hey Sean, I do a 1" drop per foot so 2" total. I put the back end on my tote then just marked where 2" down was at the other end of the tote and drilled holes on either side. Ran a pvc pipe through the holes. Then I added a "L" bracket to the back end. It sits on a slit in the tote, and bottom part sits free. Hope that explains, it, if not email me at admin@millerprospecting.com and I will send some pics as well.

Hey, great video, I just ordered the set-up with pump from eBay, $67 + shipping. My question is it looks to me like you can also bring down to a creek without the hose, you think it would work, is it durable?
I dont think it would do good in a creek, it is way too flexible. Plus the opening or flat area just isnt large enough for pumping in large amounts of material fast. You would be better of with a Gold Rush Nugget Bucket.
Ok thanks, makes sense, expecting delivery on this today, will be a fun Winter ❄️ in the garage! I actually got it for just the fines after panning material first.
Miller Prospecting Set it up last night for the first time, recovered lots of fines I missed panning so I’m happy. Is it safe to keep pump in water after use, I pulled it out?
What is the screen for. I got one for christmas but did not come with any thing to explain what the different mats are used for. What are you suppose to use the small peice of mesh for?
The short black screen is for the top of the sluice and you use it to catch nuggets, larger gold has a hard time being captured by the mats they have with this sluice. This way you don't lose the big stuff and catch the tinies.
mesh size is the number of holes per inch, so 100 mesh is 100 holes every inch. Anything 0.01 inches or smaller will pass through the 100 mesh. The minus refers to the stuff that is even smaller, like the 200, 400, and 600 mesh.
Awesome video. You mentioned earlier in the video that you typically don't use a mini sluice. What is your preference for capturing the small gold? Do you always classify your material down to different sizes dry and then pan it off separately? I find that I lose some gold when I classify it down to different sizes (wet) and then pan it off separately. This seems to be because everything is the same size and compacts very easily and not allowing the gold to get to the bottom of the pan all the time. I want to use the best setup so I don't lose any gold.
You know I have no idea, I bought that pump last year and been sitting around. I will look it up tomorrow and let you know. I had it on about half while running the cons.
Not as good as a Gold Cube but it will catch -100 gold just not a lot of it. SInce it is so small you will have to clean it out probably every 5 gallons or so depending on how much gold your on. Also this is with the vortex matting.
np and yeah unless your going through a lot of dirt the gold cube is out of most budgets. I always say start small and work your way up. So catch all the gold you can wiht a mini sluice till you can afford a gold cube.
You know I honestly dont know, most purchased paydirt il never have huge nuggets. The v ribs are pretty small but it has a little grid at the bottom to catch larger nuggets. I would think it would catch anything though since isnt a steep angle and the water is pretty slow, and big nuggets are heavy, lol.
This will definitely catch anything under 10 mesh. I think the vortex matting on it might even do that if you add the nugget screen to it. Usually when my kids run mine we run everything through it using the V matting, then pull that and run everything through the vortex to find any fine gold the V mat missed.
Just remember a 1" drop per foot. Sure your son will love it, much funner then boring old panning, lol. Oh and if you use my link it will make me a few pennies to keep the channel going. amzn.to/2ztCPEl
I've always wanted to pick one of these up. Do you think the one in the Amazon link is a good kit? I'd like to get some bags of pay dirt for me and my daughter to run through one.
I love my mini sluice, and my kids love it even more. The one great thing is you can keep running the dirt over and over. My kids will run a 2lb bag 10-12 times before they have me pull the V mat fro panning. Then they run it all through the vortex matting another 12 times. I will say though you do have to still pan out the paydirt, just not as much. It will turn 2lbs into about 4-6 ounces. Also if I buy a bag of paydirt just for my kids I get ez pan material (so no fine gold) and just run the V mat. This makes it easier to see the gold and for final cleanup.
Hello there may you tell me more about your setup please I like just need to know more Ordered my it'll be here in afew days so a tote and pvc pipe and a small like bucket the one I got is from Martin prospecting equipment comes with another mat as well looks like a good pump on it with the valve to control the water may you get back to me thanks enjoy the day thank you for your time.
Hi Sorry for delay, always better to email me at dylan@millerprospecting.com, but... Once you get in the sluice just set on edge of tote and then mark where pvc pipe would go. You want the sluice to have about a 2" drop from top to bottom. Then just drill hole in tote slide pvc through and your done. You really can set it up in numerous ways, just as long as it has about a 2" drop from back of sluice to front. I don't know which pump they are including now but think it worked best at about 75% flow rate. The best thing about running paydirt though is you can run it over and over till you see its capturing all the gold.
Thats assuming they have matting and a pump etc. As I state in the video its not the pipe or gutter that is what costs money its the matting and pump. Vortex matting is not cheap. Oh plus you have to count your time making it.
1" drop per foot, so in total is 2" drop. I am thinking about buying a second one and ruiing one on top of the other, with "V" mattign on top one and vortex on bottom.
My favorite seller is JimbosGold.com. Is a real miner with lots of choices and great average ROI. Second choice would be GoldBay, not as many choices but ROI is usually in the 90% range Visit Seller Here: bit.ly/GoldbayPaydirt $5.00 OFF COUPON: GRRXHKTKDQ
Dylan, just bought this thru ur site. Hope did it right. Bought with both mats and 110v pump. Can you eccomend one mat over the other for 2nd pass at paydirt? Planning to use it to work dirt after an intial pass at panning.
Well thanks! I use the V mat first, which will catch any chunky or flat gold. Then I rerun everything with the vortex mat. I also use a 2" drop on my sluice, and found it works good.
Yes it is! It is a piece of U shaped gutter, but it is a discontinued brand. It is the only gutter vinyl that has edges on the inside to keep matting in place. I have tried to recreate this with other types of gutters and they dont work as well.
Wil Morris - Will, there was a change in the shape of guttering in the recent past that changed the way that the matting slides into the sluice. The old style gutter easily allows for the edges of the mat to be held in place because the edges curve inward to grip the mat, whereas the new style does not. I have the old style gutter sluice and believe me, the matting does not slip out of place.

Thinking about getting one for my boy. Im thinking if i just screened out all the over 10 material i think it would be alright
This will definitely catch anything under 10 mesh. I think the vortex matting on it might even do that if you add the nugget screen to it. Usually when my kids run mine we run everything through it using the V matting, then pull that and run everything through the vortex to find any fine gold the V mat missed.
Sounds good man. Looks like im gona have to finally sell some gold to get one one of these bad boys.
Just remember a 1" drop per foot. Sure your son will love it, much funner then boring old panning, lol. Oh and if you use my link it will make me a few pennies to keep the channel going. amzn.to/2ztCPEl
Super cool..
( even I could do that ..)😀
Good review..👍
yeah super easy to run and cleanup is a breeze.
Hi
Sorry for delay, always better to email me at dylan@millerprospecting.com, but...
Where are you getting your pay dirt
I have links to all the sellers in my descriptions
6 inch PVC pipe with Velcro on the inside and Velcro on them that you have the same thing for $15
Thats assuming they have matting and a pump etc. As I state in the video its not the pipe or gutter that is what costs money its the matting and pump. Vortex matting is not cheap. Oh plus you have to count your time making it.
Gonna try this Lol
Will this catch 100 mesh material
if you use the vortex matting then yes, but you might have to run it a few times. As their isnt a ton of surface area compared to a gold cube.
idk if im the only one but i miss this logo :)
Caro amigo quanto sai o custo dessa Calha
custo é $85
Recirculating Version - amzn.to/2ztCPEl
Yes make your own from house gutter I made one works perfect
I have same sluice
It's awesome, kids played with it all night. Now I definitely need to get my own.
What angle did you have It on thank you james
1" drop per foot, so in total is 2" drop. I am thinking about buying a second one and ruiing one on top of the other, with "V" mattign on top one and vortex on bottom.
Thank you for your reply. What pay dirt is the best as I have been burnt a few times any help would be great thank you
My favorite seller is JimbosGold.com. Is a real miner with lots of choices and great average ROI. Second choice would be GoldBay, not as many choices but ROI is usually in the 90% range

Do you use any jet dry or just water thank you james
Dylan, just bought this thru ur site. Hope did it right. Bought with both mats and 110v pump.
Can you eccomend one mat over the other for 2nd pass at paydirt?
Planning to use it to work dirt after an intial pass at panning.
Well thanks! I use the V mat first, which will catch any chunky or flat gold. Then I rerun everything with the vortex mat. I also use a 2" drop on my sluice, and found it works good.
Just bought me one !!! 😊😊😊
Hope you enjoy it!
Isn't that just a piece of a vinyl rain gutter?
100% spot on. The new "U" shaped gutters dont have a lip at the end and matting would have to be glued or clipped in. Well worth the money!
Wil Morris - yes, but make sure you get the “U” shaped as the edges have a lip that will hold the matting secure in the track.
Sadly most stores have discontinued selling the U shaped gutters.
Actually I'm running it right now would post a pic if I could
cool!
I think the mat should be changed. It catches the fine gold but you can't get it out.
Super
its not 40.00 it is 89.99 with out shipping
They raised prices since i shot this video, and I purchased the one with out vortex matting
