Thanks Pete for another excellent trip video & blog. The club tramped this two summers ago and your comments about the patronage of huts is spot-on. The Dart hut has 32 bunks and over N/Y's we had in excess of 50 sleeping in & around the hut, plus those who were tenting on the other side of the main bridge.
Wow Pete! Thanks for the virtual walk over the Dart Rees. It brings 45 year memories from when David and I tramped it with three others from AUTC. I got heel blisters the size of old 50c pieces so took a day off to sit at the Dart hut rather than getting to the Saddle. Shelter Rock and Dart hut have been replaced since then and there're also new huts now in the Dart Valley. When we have the opp I'll show you photos of the old, far smaller character huts!
