I feel a lot of people don't catch the "Jellicle lady" joke about the lady getting mugged. That was Rebel Wilson, and he just did the pitch meeting for the movie Cats before this one.
X-men, Eric Bana's Hulk, ben affleck's Daredevil, jennifer gardner's elektra, the two fantastic four with Chris Evans. Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man trilogy. The Blade sequels. Nicolas Cage as ghost rider. The two Punisher films. Iron Man, which was followed by The Incredible Hulk with Edward Norton.
You guys should definitely watch and react to the sequel. It didn’t have as much charm as the first one, it ditched a lot of the ham. But it did have some really cool cinematography & the CGI was much improved, he looked gnarly w/ a much more burnt, melted, bubbly look. Honestly, I think it’s worth it just for that cool camera work and CGI, it’s directed by the guys who made Crank. They did a lot of interesting & difficult practical shots, many times the camera is almost on the ground, giving it a much more fast paced feel. It has a couple of classic Nic Cage freak out scenes, and one we’re ghost rider is pissing fire. Also has Idris Elba Also: if you haven’t seen Ryan’s “Cats” pitch Meeting, the “gelical girl” in this one is a reference. Same actress. 😂
The 1st shot of the burnt skull was definitely cool, and I remember thinking that maybe it would be a good movie. The rest of it was such a headache though, by the end, I tuned out completely and had no idea what I had watched.
The biggest thing about the penance stare is that it does to your soul everything you have sinned against others ... if he stabbed people, beat people, killed someone, etc... that is all done to your soul. You can survive the penance stare if you haven't done a lot of bad things. Also, as you notice in the movie, Ghost Rider can tell if you are a guilty person or innocent, meaning going to hell or not. So he just speeds up the process for the devil.
I never noticed the shoulder thing either lol. There are actually quite a lot of things I didn't notice about Ghost Rider until now. And yes, you and Steph should definitely watch the second one.

I thought part 2 was actually better. It really leaned in to the cheesy B-movie vibe, GR even looks grittier. As in he looks like he’s covered in grit or soot or something. The first one was directed by the guy who did the Daredevil movie, the second one by the guys who did the Crank movies, that’s pretty much all that needs to be said.

The Ghost rider in the second one is much cooler and groovy and psychotic. Though the story is not that good. The GR moments are super awesome. And he rides a sports bike and a truck and a big construction vehicle and he has a crazy laugher and cool transformations!!!

You could chalk some of the ridiculousness of "Ghost Rider" up the fact that a superhero film was still a bit of a gamble for the studio back in 2007 but this POS came out only 15 months before "Iron Man." Those two films seem decades apart in regards to the quality of their writing, acting, special effects, directing, editing, scoring, etc., etc..
Ghostrider was a studio-led hack job from when comic book movies were still seen as a joke. TDK and Ironman revolutionized what a comic-book movie could be. Ironman launched the MCU coz Favreau and the team were very really passionate about making a movie, with a real story and real character arcs.
@@iReiGNxx BB certainly started that process I agree, but TDK really made mainstream Hollywood look at superhero movies differently. I still remember execs saying that TDK is a crime drama, along the lines of Heat etc, not a superhero film.

The sequel is pretty weak, but it does have some fantastic action scenes! I mean, let's face it, even this first Ghost Rider was pretty weak outside of the scenes with the actual Ghost Rider.

Saw the second Ghostrider movie in the theatres. It is a pretty watchable movie.

The upgrade to Ghost Rider's look was better in the sequel. That's about it.
