Races in the open zone would be so cool, could you imagine them modding that into the game? Imagine racing towards a goal, someone gets to the goal, and another goal appears so you have to race around the island, with whoever gets the most goals being the winner. That would be so cool!

It would be so dope if Frontiers had some kind of local or online multiplayer. Co-op for the open zone. 1v1 races for cyber space. If a combat 1v1 could be established that'd be dope too. I would think to make it fit. Both players would be rendered into the world but the player who joins your session appears like the cyber skin version of Sonic. Either that or ghostly like Tails, Amy, and knuckles.
before the game launches i really thought it was going to be coop with sonic saving shadow and the two having to solve problems together, in my view it was incredible

It depends how intensive rendering two places on the starfall islands at the same time is (especially if you’re playing locally on one console)
More playable characters and multiplayer are very different things. Like to other guy said, rendering this game’s terrain twice will probably be the obstacle. And quite a big one at that.

@@SuperCyberEditz Then comes the problem I mentioned, rendering the game for both screens. That’s why most split screen multiplayer games lag so much during said multiplayer. Having the screen split during gameplay would actually lead to the game lagging a lot whenever the second player moves away. I do think multiplayer would be awesome, but it would impact the game’s performance heavily.

Imagine the fishing minigame where another player controls Big and the first one to catch a randomly selected fish wins
The thing is, the fish are selected in a cycle. You’re going to be at a heavy advantage or disadvantage depending on where you’re currently at in the cycle
I feel like if they did implement this the 2nd players would be like digital versions of sonic kinda like how amy tails and knuckles looked before they were turned back to normal
Multiplayer Forces would be awesome! I'd love to explore the open world with a friend! Imagine if there would be a 100% Multiplayer Speedrun, where everyone splits off to collect tokens and beat bosses and such
I miss the days where obviously single player games would still have a multiplayer mode and vise versa. I love the idea of taking the game I played through on my own and then sitting down to play with a bunch of friends!

If this game had multiplayer ama be honest it would be really glitchy and weird you just see a random hedgehog blazing past you in 100 miles per hour they would be glitching through the ground walls and stuff
Online would be fire, just imagine, you and the boys playing Sonic together exploring the islands
If they would’ve added it first thing, here’s my idea on how it could’ve went in the story:
During the green hills first level, before Sonic goes through the portal, he goes so fast that the cyberspace registers two entities, but since it misses the data, it fills the hole with, you guessed it, another Sonic. The new Sonic could be a lighter blue with purple accents, because it’s cyber-space made.
We could also think that Cyberspace took information from Eggman’s memory.
I also have ideas for combined attacks:
-cyloop kick could have both of them do it and mimic the Sonic tornado from heroes for example
The boss battles are tricky tho. But we could have one Sonic attacking the boss while the other is like deflecting projectiles and they could switch now and then.
Finally, we all know how cocky Sonic is, so it would only be right to make everything a competition against himself. Like 3D world, there would be a thing at the end. This idea could work with 4 people and would be awesome to see

I imagine that the 2 player would happen, if they didnt do it for the future characters then I imagine that they would do something like they did for kirby and have a different colored one that the second person can use

Two words: sonic superstars
I like how Sonic colors explained multiple characters with it being "Robot?" Colored Sonics and you would get to pick your different colored Sonic and maybe use some accessories from Sonic Forces so you can show off your "Sonic" Online, and they can include a shop with the eggman ships and rings because they didn't serve a gameplay purpose which serves as a reason to play the game again. And with the third update having Tails, Kunckles, and Amy, customization would be crazy.
Honestly, a freaking multiplayer storyline sonic game would be cool. Small servers with each person filling a chracter and starting at different points depending on the chracter?
Honestly a Shadow DLC for Frontiers would be sick! Shadow on a secret mission for G.U.N on the islands or his own thing somewhere else

If people managed to mod several of the Zelda games to get 4 player multiplayer to work, I’m sure someone will figure out how to mod Sonic Frontiers and implement multiplayer.
If there's going to be a Battle Mode, I think they need to balance the gameplay with actual punishable parry where missing it makes you open.
Frontiers's new Gameplay as a really really big step but I think it needs more balancing for later games. I definitely want to see multiplayer or VS Ai Mode with deathmatch mechanic and you spawn randomly in one island, find and beat each other. Basically Sonic Battle but in 3D, in Kronos.

I think they should bring back multiplayer in the main series. I would like to see co-op play return like in Shadow the Hedgehog, Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode II and Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric, but not Sonic Lost World. And multiplayer mode should go up to 4 players, like in Sonic and the Black Knight, Sonic Lost World (3DS version) and Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric.
What if you could progress the story even faster with multiplayer? 2 people could try getting keys from cyberspace levels, and everyone else could be getting memory tokens from around the map.
If this game had multiplayer, then I'd have to say it takes the spot of "Best Sonic Game"

i grew up with the adventure games so there being multiple charecters and ponits of view in the story and game play was super awesome. i think a mutiplyer option you just elivate it so much more, and having parts of the game where secondary charecters arnt just following you around because thats what they are coded to do but be real people in a sence is a super awesome thought
The way it can work is the more characters you save the more players you can play co-op with

This would actually work pretty well with this game. A split screen local multiplayer game mode for exploration of the map. A race mode for the Cyberspace game mode. And maybe who can do the most damage in a set amount of time against a boss monster?
Sonic legit is the one series that could have phenomenal multiplayer every single game without problem but for some reason it’s either not in the game or ends up being a superstars situation lmao

That cyberspace section reminded me of sonic rivals.
As you complete more islands you get the characters from those islands, and then at the end of the game you get all the super forms as Freeplay and Shadow to plays as in the star fall islands
