I really enjoyed this one and you did very well speaking Slovak, I know it's hard to pronounce. I'm Slovak myself. Gosh I really wish I had some those treats right now. I'm surprised potatoes survived the shipping. Wafer bars are always on top of the list for me personally, and the hazelnut bar. Barborka, thanks for sending it to Emmy. I think you made a great choice. Sure we have more products, but you have sent majority of the most representative ones. As Emmy has a talent in describing the food flavor, anyone can still send her what they were missing from Slovak favorites :-) Btw Mata has very distinctive mint flavor, but Horalky is a favorite snack during hiking in mountains (Horalky actually means "mountain women").
emmymadeinjapan don't forget to bring an SUV or a tank with you because of our roads (but im still a bit afraid of that tank would be destroyed by roads or stolen by our "fellow-citizens" or "maladjusted people") ;) :D
emmymadeinjapan I think, Kosice is a better choice. As Slovakian, I have to say that I'm not really proud of Bratislava, but of course, it has several great places aswell.
emmymadeinjapan Iam from Bratislava , an you are right about the food :D , its amazing ,, u should have tried Halušky ,, it a typical Slovakian food . In past it was mostly made by the shepherds . D:
Hey emmy, greetings from slovakia!! I have had so much fun watching this video! I think you pronounced it well, e.g. slovenské zemiačky or korbáčiky :) I enjoyed this very well and I am so thankful that someone send this package to you. Have a nice day, ahoj!
This might sound weird but, I watch your videos then enjoy it before bed, then I watch it again and fall asleep to it because your voice is so calming. xD
Pikao - i think it was originally supposed to be used as a chocolate syrup, to be put into milk, but nobody ever bothered as far as i know :-D sójové rezy - i was curious how you'd describe this one, because i eat them my whole life and still all i can say about it that it tastes like itself :-D thanks to you for also educating people on where we are! maybe less people will mistake us for Slovenia and/or realize we're not Czechoslovakia anymore! :)
actually, I remember my mom always TRIED to keep Pikao and Piknik (actually the same as Pikao but not chocolate flavour, it´s "sweetened condensed milk") away from me, to be able to put it into milk for some reason - which I never understand and most of the time, she didn´t make it :-D :-D :-D I was faster! :-P I still keep buying Pikao from time to time as a special "treat" to myself, or Mäta, or any of the others. But Sojove rezy is not anymore what it used to be around 20 years ago... well, everything changes :-)
This language is curious. It has many words with no vowels where traditionally we would find them if they were to be spoken here... and as our ocidental brains are used to look for a vowel to start speaking in most cases, we find it strange when we see these slovak words, as Emmy said "JABLoKO", when there is no "o" between L and K. After Swedish, Slovak will be the next language I will learn. I've become fascinated by this language.
Lol I wish you best luck in learning Slovakian language :) It's one of the most difficult languages in the world it's difficult even though I'm from Slovakia :)
In California we sometimes get cheese twists in the fancier stores, in the deli section usually. They are big twists, though. Almost like a ball of yarn carefully twisted instead of rolled up. One of them came with little seeds like caraway, or something. It was delicious. I like opening them up & untwisting them all the way.
out of all the people who eat foods on TH-cam your my favorite. you have become my own. your voice is so nice you relax me. also you are the best at describing the food you eat! : D thank you for eating food!

viktor paska No moje skusenosti by som zratal na prstoch jednej (normalnej) ruky, cize sa nebudem vyjadrovat. Kazdopadne to skusim za tu minutu zozrat.
My dad's work buddy back when I lived in the UK was from Slovakia and one day, he and his wife brought home a Slovak cheese called Bryndza. We made bryndzove halusky and I found that Bryndza is really nice on hot buttered toast!
Hi Emmy. I’m from Slovakia too and I really enjoyed watching your video. I’m happy that you liked ours food so much! :) I love everything you tried in video. I’m living now in Germany and what I’ve been missing the most beside my family and friends is the Slovak food 😃🙈
Hello Emma. My name is Pavel (Paul) and I´m from Czech republic. I really like your videos and this from Slovakia is my favorite. Yes, I know lots of these snacks like Horalky, but also few of them was new for me. So, next time when I will go to Slovakia I will buy them. It´s funny, somebody from Japan is teaching me about things, which are about 100 km from me. Emma, thank you.
Jackie Kithinji See, where I'm from, Frys is a huge electronics store lol. Never heard of it as a grocery store. I also second these peanut butter chips.
Personally, as a slovak person, who doesn't really like the youtubers from my state ( because they suck) I always really appreciate when somebody who's content is enjoyable talks about my country. To be honest, I must say your spelling was better than I thought, Slovakia itself, is a pretty hard language as we have a few rules everybody in this country needs to follow. And the fact you actually said some of those words pretty nicely, is very interesting to me. Anyway, I am glad you enjoyed our food!
Have you found over the time you've done these videos that your tastes have changed at all? For some reason, I recall you not liking or not wanting to eat "boozy" chocolates and I can't quite remember why! Another great video Emmy, those wafers sound divine!
I'm from Slovakia and I must say that most of Slovakians should watch that and read these comments. Maybe they would be prouder to be citizens of our beautiful country. Thank you for putting smile on my face, Emm (and spittle into my mouth) :)
Loved it! I'm from the Czech Republic and most of the things are sold here as well (I think Pikao is Czech actually, but I might be wrong) and my favourite is definitely Romanca and it physically hurts me to watch you just bite it off like that because I always separate the top biscuit and eat the chocolate inside first and it's just THE BEST hahaha. I also love Mila, which you must try someday! Anyway, great picks, little miss B. :)
I'm from slovak heritage and I have had about everything here and I low a lot of it. I was suprises to find a video on Slovakia! I also love how open minded you are on foods.
Hello Emmy, I have to say, that watching your video was awesome as YOU gave your personal opinion nice and neat. Those sweats reminds me of my youth and of course each country has it's own 'taste' though, we Slovaks like just that kind of sweets and candies you described and tested. A great job indeed!!!
you had almost every classic from my country here.missing only pernik.(pernik-also a slovakian slang word for crack here :D).and a national limonade called kofola.
pernik is meth not crack :) len aby si vedel co dostanes ked budes rozpravat tym slangom... Just saying Its always good to know what you will get when you speak some slang. :)
Terepin64 Omyl. Kofola je původně slovenská, Češi jenom koupili a zprivatizovali firmu vlastnící značku. Stejné je to u Viney. Ta je taky původně slovenská. Pak ji koupili naši, namíto cukru do ní dávají umělá sladidla a plní ji do plastových láhví. A výsledek? Hnus.
emmymadeinjapan I think after those videos there are people world wide who would invate you for a dinner and give you a place to sleep at their homes ...ao nexst step for you could be a ww tour with camara and videos from your travels :), for example. if I you would like to travel to Slovakia u are welcome to stay at my place..
Not sure if anyone mentioned it, but Horalky is named after mountains (Horalky could be translated as Mountainees - something related to mountains or made to be used while in mountains). The reason for this name is because Slovakia is a mountaineous country and has a tradition of mountain hiking so these wafer bars are meant to be taken with you while you hike as an energy source. Also regarding the history of the sweets and crackers pretty much all of those you tasted are from 50s and 60s (particularly Deva is probably the oldest, Deva means Young girl in older variant of Slovak language). Figaro factory was established probably in 20s, after communist party takeover all factories fell under state control and started producing various products for mass appeal. This didn't work for many products (especially electronics) but sweets and crackers were an exception and all of those you've tasted have origins during communist era but their appeal lasts even 25 years after the fall of communism and influx of western sweets and crackers (like Milka, Nestle, Pringles, Lays, etc). So if any time you crave some Mäta don't hesitate to hit any of us (by the way that's my favourite as well).
Hey Emmy, I watch all of your videos, and as I'm originally from Slovakia (living in the UK for 6yrs now, and I'm 14) I got really exited to see Slovakia pop up! You did very well with the pronunciation 😉
How awesome!!! Finally some sweets I know :3 And I see that liked them... it makes me happy :) Miss B dobrý výber :D Budeš ešte nejaký balíček posielať? Rada by som poradila s výberom ak by sa dalo :D
Wooow it's wonderful when you can see someone tasting our traditional food (sweets many). Thanks for it :) you are amazing. Ande sorry for my english :)
Hello Emma, you are speaking so understandly and fluently English that it is wonderful. Your detailed descriptions, your intonation of voice and expression of face are on the excellent level :) Every year are you better and better so I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. Is it a pity that propagancy of Slovakia aren't doing Slovakians but foreingers do. Thank you for this video, and at the next one - Itadakimaaasu ! :)
yeay! :) Such a nice video. I love the way she is actually interested in those treats also her personality kind of shined out to me. New subscriber, right here.
ohh you friends out there.. we could exchange our national delicious treats country to country.. so who would like to exchange a package filled with all slovak treats with me, that you saw in Emmys video??
So nice to see you enjoyed products from my home country :) the chocolate which had ,,zelené jablko" written on it was supposed to taste like green apple (zelené jablko=green apple :) greetings from Slovakia
+Chiara Pravlik I would have never guessed! I guess that is because I grew up learning Slovak, but I never though of it as challenging. I am learning Mandarin, Japanese, and Korean and I definitely think they are harder than Slovak haha. I thought that Russian or Hungarian would be harder than Slovak though. Slovak can be tricky, but I don't think it's next to Japanese or Korean.
whoever made the selection for you did a good job. Rumba and Chrumky FTW. And you are brave, even as a Slovak I'd never eat half of this. Specially the green apple chocolate bar :-))
Hello Slovak friends, Thanks for all the support. :)
You are so cute :-)
IM FROM SLOVAKIA I LIKE švankes

Hehe
as a Polish, its always fun for me to read these Slovakian names... they just sooo utterly cute! XD
Ziemniacki :D huehuehue... (its because, in poland we have similar names for things, but for example we could say Ziemniaczki, when you try to make it cuter, normally they're called Ziemniaki) :D
I dont have to know Slovakian, either Czech, but i will understand what you're talking to me :D that's the beauty of slavic languages!
I love polish language..especially flaming one :D
polish language is the funniest language in the world :D
I as a Slovak person, want to learn polish, because as you said, it's really cool :D
Jakub Hospodarsky as a Polish i wish i had in Poland more of these beautiful mountain views and woods and castles! ;O I've been to Slovakia and it was one of the best trips i ever made :D
I used to live right across the Figaro factory for 6 years... aaahhhhhh every Sunday they roasted the cocoa beans and the whole neighbourhood smelled like heaven on earth! Yum!
Pikao in the tube I remember when I was a little kid, we'd squeeze it so fast, I think they even made them bigger back in the day. The apple thing I haven't seen before, must be something new. Figaro is a chocolate company, they manufacture most of the chocolate stuff. Chrumpky are a classic for sure, loved those. I had to laugh when you said refined gentleman when eating Rumba; as they are my dad's favorite. You just ate some of my favorite treats
Hi Haniela's! I didn't know you were Slovak. That's great that you grew up eating so many of these tasty treats. :)
Yeah , She was speaking Slovak not so bad .. but Košice are not Kušís :D
Peter Nemec yeah, more like Ko-shi-tse :)
+Peter Nemec 😂😂😂
+Haniela's Your name is Haniela? Isn't it Hana or Daniela?
I'm from Slovakia and your pronunciation is very good. I was very amused. It's a great promotion of traditional Slovak products abroad. You're a star Slovak Internet.

Nie :D

I´m so happy to see "my video"! Hope you enjoyed the treats and maybe visit Slovakia someday, we have beautiful nature :)
Thank you Barbora Kamenicka ! It sounds lovely and I do hope to visit some day. :)
Mirka Svabova As a Slovak, I didn't know about that Horalky thing until now haha
Oh my god, thank you for sending our snacks, I was planning to do just that but I am a really poor student so I couldn't afford that ^^
emmymadeinjapan don't forget to bring an SUV or a tank with you because of our roads (but im still a bit afraid of that tank would be destroyed by roads or stolen by our "fellow-citizens" or "maladjusted people") ;) :D
You are missing the most delicious snack in slowakia called : DOMÁCA PÁLENKA.
"snack":D
takže "snack" hej? :D
"liquid bread" :D
DenolcTV "liquid jumper" :D
tak tak :D
Nice video Emmy! I was in the capital of Bratislava a few years ago, really delish food there!
Ooo, lucky you. I'd love to visit some day.
emmymadeinjapan You really should! :)

This might sound weird but, I watch your videos then enjoy it before bed, then I watch it again and fall asleep to it because your voice is so calming. xD
I thought I was the only one that did this! Lol! It's just a nice video to wind down! She's awesome!
Creepy :)
Not creepy at all. Sweet dreams. :)
emmymadeinjapan You tasted?
Look up asmr.
Pikao - i think it was originally supposed to be used as a chocolate syrup, to be put into milk, but nobody ever bothered as far as i know :-D
sójové rezy - i was curious how you'd describe this one, because i eat them my whole life and still all i can say about it that it tastes like itself :-D
thanks to you for also educating people on where we are! maybe less people will mistake us for Slovenia and/or realize we're not Czechoslovakia anymore! :)
actually, I remember my mom always TRIED to keep Pikao and Piknik (actually the same as Pikao but not chocolate flavour, it´s "sweetened condensed milk") away from me, to be able to put it into milk for some reason - which I never understand and most of the time, she didn´t make it :-D :-D :-D I was faster! :-P I still keep buying Pikao from time to time as a special "treat" to myself, or Mäta, or any of the others. But Sojove rezy is not anymore what it used to be around 20 years ago... well, everything changes :-)
I am from slovakia PIKAO is chocolate to mouth Piknik is vanilla its not to milk :D
Norman Sedlak
This language is curious. It has many words with no vowels where traditionally we would find them if they were to be spoken here... and as our ocidental brains are used to look for a vowel to start speaking in most cases, we find it strange when we see these slovak words, as Emmy said "JABLoKO", when there is no "o" between L and K.
After Swedish, Slovak will be the next language I will learn. I've become fascinated by this language.
These are real Slovak words:
SPLN, PLNKA, STĹP, PRST, ŠTRK, ZVRCHU, VRCHNÝ
ŠTVRŤ, VSTRČIŤ, ODSTRČIŤ, ZMRZLINA, ZMRZNUTÝ
ŠPRNDLÍK, VZBĹKNUŤ :-)
***** I remember an ice hockey player called VLK
MorliHolect
vlk = wolf :-)
Lol I wish you best luck in learning Slovakian language :) It's one of the most difficult languages in the world it's difficult even though I'm from Slovakia :)
Let me know if you gonna need help with Slovak language ;) Slovak is not that hard to learn if you get the right teacher ;)
Those cheese twists are way healthier and better than American cheese string, at least it's usually homemade and no modified ingredients are added 😊
Poďme to tu zbombardovať slovenskými komentármi :-D super video :)

There is also a challenge to eat the "Horalky" under 1 minute without water. I don't know anyone who can do it :D

I LOVE her reactions to the taste of the food she tries they are hilarious, especially when she doesn't like them 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Sweet & salty peanut butter chips!! Why don't they make that here in the states, gahh!! I'm a peanut butter fiend! hehe.
They sell them in Frys grocery in the international isle it's called Bumba! :) I don't know if you have a Frys where you live though.
I live in Southern California, never heard of Frys.
I saw a frys I think in Temecula/San Diego yesterday. Its a very big grocery store.
Jackie Kithinji See, where I'm from, Frys is a huge electronics store lol. Never heard of it as a grocery store.
I also second these peanut butter chips.

Fakt? Hmmm. Nevedel som :P
Anyway, I am glad you enjoyed our food!
super video Emmy! i like this, finally someone record video about our food :) :) i become your fan :)
Hey there, another greeting from Slovakia:)))) great video! Finally a realistic video About my country ;)
Slovakia doesent exist
+Mike abc Thats not truth. I am from Slovakia.
Mike abc ok.
Have you found over the time you've done these videos that your tastes have changed at all? For some reason, I recall you not liking or not wanting to eat "boozy" chocolates and I can't quite remember why! Another great video Emmy, those wafers sound divine!
I'm still not a huge fan boozy chocolate, but I can still appreciate it.
I love how thick Slovakian bars are!
I'm from Slovakia and I must say that most of Slovakians should watch that and read these comments. Maybe they would be prouder to be citizens of our beautiful country. Thank you for putting smile on my face, Emm (and spittle into my mouth) :)
I'm from Slovakia. Very nice, your reactions were so positive! I'm really proud of it :)
this is bee NOBODY FUCKING CARES GTFO U ARE RUINING THIS
Korbacze, yummy! In Poland we have it too, and the best ones are form.. Zakopane ❤✌
idk why it makes me happy to see someone eating a bunch of candy, but ir does.
:)
I'm from slovak heritage and I have had about everything here and I low a lot of it. I was suprises to find a video on Slovakia! I also love how open minded you are on foods.
Great video, I am currently living in the UK and after watching your video I just got a taste for all these stuff :D your review is superb :D
We eat same junk foods in Turkey :) Hello Slovakia :))
Greetings from poland! :) I love "Tradične Slovenské Zemiačky"! In Polish: "Tradycyjne Słowackie Ziemniaczki" :D
I live in Slovakia and sójové rezy is the best
I love your videos! I am from Slovakia and I am glad to see that someone loves our sweets and snacks! :))
Hello Emmy,
I have to say, that watching your video was awesome as YOU gave your personal opinion nice and neat.
Kofola je česká národná limonáda, nie slovenská.
Terepin64 Omyl. Kofola je původně slovenská, Češi jenom koupili a zprivatizovali firmu vlastnící značku. Stejné je to u Viney. Ta je taky původně slovenská. Pak ji koupili naši, namíto cukru do ní dávají umělá sladidla a plní ji do plastových láhví. A výsledek? Hnus.
Presne :3
Has emmy done or ever talked about doing travel vlogs about food? Snacks are awesome but I'd like to see her take on street food.
That would be AWESOME. :)
emmymadeinjapan I think after those videos there are people world wide who would invate you for a dinner and give you a place to sleep at their homes ...ao nexst step for you could be a ww tour with camara and videos from your travels :), for example. if I you would like to travel to Slovakia u are welcome to stay at my place..
Hello, I am from Slovakia ! :3 I'm glad that you did this video :)
My family is from Slovakia! I have cravings for doxy now! greetings from Australia :D
Amazing video ! I love how you like everything :) we really do have amazing snacks haha 👍🙊
Hey Emmy, I watch all of your videos, and as I'm originally from Slovakia (living in the UK for 6yrs now, and I'm 14) I got really exited to see Slovakia pop up! You did very well with the pronunciation 😉
I just love this video. I'm from Slovakia and my I loooove Tatiana so much😻 I just subbed, you're the best!
Hold proste máme nejlepší suroviny a kvalitni suroviny, takže jsem určitě hrdý na nás stat. Vím ,jsem cech ale Československo jsme byli =)
Aj tak je väčšina značiek českých =D
=D
This is your most viewed video on your chanell i Think :) And i am from Slovakia :D

I love Ur Vidoes and I subscribed Yesterday :D You'r Voice is so Quit and Nice and it gets me out of Stress :P
borovicka? slivovica? taketo smaky si jej mala poslat :D
I believe slovak, polish are one of the hardest languages to learn, next to Korean and Japanese
czech is harder than sk
+Humanlord no czech is easy and slovakia is easy !
+Vloger and Gaming Ok, I think with worldwide ranking, Slovakia is ONE OF THE hardest (not HARDEST) with its grammar.
Proxy, The Hornet POX Ya, what you said
+Chiara Pravlik I would have never guessed!
I am slovak.
Gratulujem
Filip Palkovič Choď do ryti,O.K.?X(

Hello from Slovakia! I had so much fun watching this video! Hugs, Lucy😘
WTF?! Where is "Studentska"? :)
študentská pečať je český výrobok, vyberala som len slovenské :)
i always think that studentska is slovakian, i always buy it there ;)
Husaria well, it is made by Orion, which is a Czech brand :) but yeah, of course "Studentska" is very famous also in Slovakia..
Barbora Kamenicka
www.etrend.sk/firmy/slovakia-chips-uz-nie-su-slovenske.html
A to by jedného dosť nasralo....
Presne
Je to jedno
@@vratkovrabel9155 nerieš, to je jedno
Koľko Slovákov sa stretlo pod jedným videom 😂👋 zdravím ❤ btw.good video 😘 you're awesome !✌
