    Quick tip if you have a big enough windscreen you can stuff in the mv7 ones and it will fix the plosive issue but it will be a bit thicker ofcourse

    I think the 3D ring makes different. Great video mate.

    Definitely sounds cleaner with the SM7B filter.

    ive had the MV7 with the SM7B filter for almost a year and its been great. It is sad though because all Shure had to do was make the foam on the top of stock filter 2-3X as thick and i think it would have been perfect stock.

    i'm getting the MV7 in about 20 days, wha i think i will do is, print the ring, then take the pop-filter from my Blue Yeti, and cut a circle that fits inside the MV7 utilizing the extra distance with more foam. ill edit this comment as soon is i get the results... Update bellow
    Results: i decided to order the mic early, because i'm impatient, i did print the ring and added the extra foam, and it make a huge difference, so much so that i decided to modify the ring and make it less tall, because the extra foam makes it sit a little too loos on the mic. so conclusion is if you have an old pop filter form a different mic(this does not include the filters you put in front of the mic as a screen) it will cut down the plosives, even if you don't own a printer you can do this trick, the popfilter wil just stick out a little.

    I think if you’re looking for even better experience try and use xlr that would help a lot in addition to the ring and sm7b pop filter and you’re golden.

    Hey! Great video. The model of the pop filter is the RK345, right?

    Although I am grateful for 3D files, and this is something that is needed for MV7, I do think you are using mic wrongly, with too much gain, and/or far settings while talking closely, plus heavy compressor on?

    • @floriangladis
      @floriangladis  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have a light compressor on, yes. I think there is no way to use this mic wrong. You can set the settings in the software to near or far, but then you have no real control over the gain. I will try to make a video about my settings by the end of the week. :) Also the Shure MV7 is very quiet for me, so I have to set the gain to the max. More on that in the video I will create. :D

    It does sound better with the ring but for the money the sound of the mic is... Underwhelming.

    • @floriangladis
      @floriangladis  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You could argue that, yea. I think you pay the price for the convenience and the "look" to be honest.

    • @Angelo-vb6dg
      @Angelo-vb6dg 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@floriangladis It's more a matter of convinience since budget audio interfaces are not that great at providing gain for dynamic mics, you always end up eating the mic. Plus, the SM7b is still prettier
