Ergon grips are so well designed that I use them not only on all my MTBs but also on my (flat bar) tour bike. Their contour and their texture make multi-day rides very, very comfortable.
I recently picked up a pair of Ergon GDH grips to replace 2020 Giant ATX factory grips, and I can definitely say I’m only getting those from now on. No more wrist pain, and I feel a lot more in control with the inertial core piece. Absolutely amazing!
The money we pay for these bikes and rubbish grips on them.. We use deathgrip here and get on very well with them. Was on a rental at the weekend and after two sessions I had worn in hands..
That was a really "gripping" episode. Thanks Owen for showing us the steps taken to get something that seems so simple but complex created. I upgraded to a more premium Ergon grip after a past episode of GMBN Tech.
Gripping - stuff! Yeah agreed it seems so simple - but the depth of knowledge - in all aspects of creating a better grip really amazed me too! Cheers Owen
Big plus for Ergon is that they use interchangeable bar ends. So, unlike other brands, you don't have to throw them away after crash, all you need are new ends.
My newest favorite seat is the ergon enduro sm men but I don't like their ergonomic grips shape (ga3 style), it's a pain to ride on a mtb if you're moving a bit on the bike. I also recently tried the gfr1 since they had a more conventional design but they are way too thin and the material hardness doesn't match the size and shape, this is supposed to be a constructive criticism btw 😊
Interesting insights Sounds like you should try the newer grips The GA3 wing support grips offer a heap more support - but yes makes it tricky to rotate your hands - but thats sorta what the grips designed to do... Cheers Owen
Got myself GE1 Factory Evo, based on the "find my grips" tool, sadly worst grips I ever had. My hands hurt like hell and I never had that problem to that extent before. I miss my SQLabs 70X - shame they were out of stock when I needed a new pair
From an ergonomic perspective Ergon grips are amazing. But I wouldn’t recommend it because the bar ends can break off really easily. It nearly ended my life when I punchered my upper leg with the bar.

I can remember years ago when we wired grips onto bars... It's nice to just use an Allen wrench now.
Same here - the new grips are so much better!
