Interesting choice for Roglic, my question wouldn’t be ‘can he do it’, but rather can this new team do it? He was left out in the wind last season. Can Bora Redbull rise to the challenge of supporting Roglic in two grad tours?
Roglic is Bora's number 1 rider so he has to do the Tour. He probably stands a better chance of winning in The Giro but he also knows that it's not always easy to finish a 3 week Tour so it's no guarantee for Pogagar.
If statistics determined race outcomes there would be no reason to stage the race. Pogacar is the best in the game (possible best 1 day and Grand Tour rider), but 3 weeks is still a long time and there is plenty to go wrong. Roglic is a fighter. A Giro/Tour program is possible for him. Line 'em up and let 'em race.
Of course he's not winning the Tour, barring injuries or mishaps for both Tadej and Jonas, which is statistically improbable. Not to mention Remco. But I'm guessing a Giro win and a spot on the last step of the TDF podium would be quite satisfying for a valiant 35 year old pro like Primoz.
Probabilities tell us Roglic has more chances to crash than Pogacar, though... Although with the new aero bike, Poagacar might ride too fast, and fall?
That’s true, but unfortunately, Roglic has a habit of hitting the deck in big races. It’s going to be a big ask for him to podium at the Tour, and that’s assuming he doesn’t have any issues at the Giro
I have a feeling that next year won't be the best for Tadej, I want the best for him. But Jonas will be very well prepared and Roglic is very focussed. We'll see
Maybe he doesnt crash as much when he has already won the Giro earlier? Pogacar and Vingegaard can both crash out themself, and it that case he is joined favourite with Remco IMO.
I would argue that Roglic's 2023 season is a potential foundation off of which he could attempt to contend for the overall victory come July 2025. Roglic's level at the 2023 Giro to secure victory was significantly lower than what he demonstrated only a few months later at La Vuelta. Aside from Kuss's early stage breakaway and internal team dynamics spilling out onto the open road, Roglic held steady a level that was unmatched in the first week-and-a-half and was only matched, not exceeded, by Vingegaard in the second half of La Vuelta. Roglic's level up the Angliru in 2023 was impressive, yes. However, a year later he put together his career best sustained power to weight performance on Stage 19 of La Vuelta amidst the backdrop of fractured vertebrae and no one who could match or challenge him to dig deeper at that race. I have to think that if he stays upright, there's a real chance that Roglic shows up to the 2025 Tour within striking distance of Vingegaard. As for Pogacar, Roglic has demonstrated in recent past (2023 Giro dell'Emelia) that he can best his fellow countryman in discrete moments. That said, I think Roglic contending would depend on (a) him at his very best form, showing improvement over this year's best output and (b) Pogacar and Vingegaard having a staring contest waiting for the other to react as Roglic goes up the road. Pogacar would recall the memory of his undoing in 2022 from wasting energy following Roglic and Vingegaard would believe, reasonably, that he could give Roglic rope without risking overall victory. Tragedy of the commons would befall the two favorites, and Roglic could build enough of a lead to play defense the rest of the race, potentially successfully. Or maybe I am just doing my very best to conjure up some way to turn upside down an otherwise predictable dynamic between the top two to win the last five editions of the Tour de France....
If I was DS for a WT team , I'll check Tadej's program first and then do all the other races he is NOT attending!!! (Except Flanders for MVDP and Milan San Remo for.... at least 25 others)
Maybe he doesnt crash as much when he has already won the Giro earlier? Pogacar and Vingegaard can both crash out themself, and it that case he is joined favourite with Remco IMO.
Like golf courses designed by former pro greats, we need some new "classic" climbs _laid out specifically for cycling_ up our old standby mountains as well as on new terrain.
5:15 How on earth is very unlikly for Vingegaard to beat Pogacar? 2022 and 2023 werent enough? Or did you forget Jonas was about to RETIRE due to the CRASH in Itzulia, and still manage to finish 2nd overall? You can have tremendous knowledge on bikes, but the your sports level is a joke, in 2025 TDF we'll see how "unlikly" it is for Jonas to win vs Pogacar.
I don't understand Roglic. Why does he not do one-day races? Does he not like them, despite his success? Also, he could be the first rider ever to win all 7 traditional one-week races, but it's almost as if he deliberately tried to avoid Tour de Suisse. If I were him, I'd do Valencia/Andalucia/Algarve in February, Tirreno/Paris-Nice in March, Itzulia+Amstel+Fléche+Liége in April, Suisse in June, TdF in July and focus on Lombardia afterwards.
Its the lenght of the Race. Rogla used to struggle with long 200km + races. But rogla has ofc win at muur de huy! Imo i think He will go for suisse in 2026.
Not only Pogacar’s rivals are avoiding him. I’m also avoiding watching any races he participates in. It’s frankly ridiculous to see that freak show. Makes Armstrong look normal in comparison
I could‘nt said it better. 👍 You put on the TV and you see just a „super friendly guy“ having fun with his peloton of best friends because he discovered the effects of eating clean food since the start of the last season. And then, after about 30 sec I put the TV off again thinking I wanted to watch cycling sports not the comedy program. 🙄
nothing new. they have been avoiding each other since that 2019 Vuelta (other than meeting in Tour and odd one day race and that '21 Basque). Shame, they don't want to face each other. Primoz won't be able to win the big one unless he has some big time help from Lady Luck and by that I mean the other two guys are not there somehow (he can beat Remco unless he improved). i think given last year, you have to fill your schedule with other races and run away from Pogi as much as you can... meaning meet him in July and that is it
releasing a new bike with not a single one in storage is a big mistake. Colnago has not learned from the past. the new bike will be cool to see but not to buy.
Whoa, Whoa, Whoa - Let's be a little slower to grant Pogacar the yellow jersey - and the crown for every race he enters. I think Vingegaard and Visma might have a bit more to say about the TDF. And plenty of one-day giants are roaming the countryside training their asses of to beat Pogi. It is going to be a great season, Get well, Remco.
Pogacar is great and looks superior to his rivals.. for now! But there will be a point in his career when he will get more tactical or boring as Roglic ".It comes with age and the fact that your legs aren't fast like they used to be.
@user-i.irmelyn i mean mostly in the races he does. Boring stage races. When Pogačar gets older, I have a feeling he will turn into a full-on classics rider battling it out on Belgian cobbles.
Any racer who wants to win will build his schedule around the races Pogacar is not going to do. Boy wonder has made the big races boring, while the only real race is for second place.

Should Roglič be all-in on the Tour de France, or would that be too much of a gamble? 😬 Let us know your thoughts down in the comments below! 👇
He is going to go all in at The Giro and then go for a podium on the Tour.
Roglic doesn't have a Tour win in him.
Don't you think that your thumbnail with "doping pagacar" is a bit... Insulting, unless there is proof?
@@onepunchbud1472 You need to learn to read. It does not say doping

Good Luck to roglic. Because the TDF is going to be a hard race, next year. Jonas is going for everything and tadej will try to keep his mvp. So GG

@@KelvinSuddith He does and it will. Call it a best case scenario.🤓
God doesn't care what Roglic plans, but that won't stop him from taking some good wins. He is resilience embodied.
Another potential advantage could be for the BRB team chemistry. They really started to gel in La Vuelta as the race progressed.
Roglič's plan is fine...
He could be win the Giro and ride the TdF is may be mandatory because of his contract, and a podium there would be possible.
I have a feeling that next year won't be the best for Tadej, I want the best for him. But Jonas will be very well prepared and Roglic is very focussed. We'll see
Next year Pog will destroy them both even more convincingly. Have faith in The King!

I think Cervelo would have a good chance in a law suit.
I really like the new Picnic jersey
Can you all check the date that was on Pogacar’s announced schedule as that date does not align with the UCR calendar?

The Colnago bike is 🔥
Nice tan, Dan!
That Colnago looks like they literally blended a Dogma, Madone, and S5 into one and called it a day.
I think the dates listed for Pog and Roglic are for 2024, not 2025.
Pog following the Vinky couple of early races, then a few light years at altitude camp ploy; wise man.

TP is the king of cycling right now. Very strong but may the best man win 💪😊.
Will be hard to take TdF from Tadej for now on.
after this year, it does seem this way!
It’s not a mistake of the Giro is giving him a hefty appearance fee. 😎

We have the Col de la loze.
Rog and Pog have been dodging each other for years, they've literally confirmed it themselves
How can Tadej top his 2024 season? Do what he should have done this year....tha triple.
Rog‘s plan is good. I guess the Red Bull HQ asks for a step up from this year and Pog is likely not present.
The main objective of Pogacar rivals this year should be keeping him from Lombardia record streak and make him do it all over
