    As usual, Immortal Technique is very interesting and nuanced about this issue. Having studied many political court cases for the book, The FBI War on Tupac Shakur and Black Leaders, I've found that in political cases versus leftists, prosecutors come up with many charges for one minor incident, much less a fatal shooting. In this case, the Republican D.A. only started with one charge, and then added a second. She got a black woman sentenced to 20 yrs for just firing over attacking abuser's head.

    there's a couple of rappers who are educated and this guy is an intellectual for the most part. Providing a conscious opinion on things doesn't mean you have to be philosopher (which is a title I'm skeptical of because it's completely subjective). Also, this issue has nothing to do with economics, it's simply a conversation on moral ethics.

Because I don't care how you try to justify what Zimmerman did, ANYONE that is being followed by a grown ass man and then accosted DESERVES and HAS EVERY RIGHT to defend themselves.

    I hear what he's saying. What I noticed is once one takes a side its hard to really look at the facts impartial. In this trial the facts that the judge felt were un prejudicial to both the defendant and the victim were brought in for the jurors to consider in their deliberations in order come to a verdict. This is the justice system we have.

    I've been reluctant to watch this video for awhile; I have been a huge fan of I.T. for a long time, but in this particular topic he has confirmed my new opinion of him. He may have strong feelings toward this incredibly unjust trial which is understandable, but I can only hope that I.T. will develop a higher understanding and not allow himself to speak so emotionally. True intellect is to view the harshness of reality and maintain a calm sensibility of it. But i guess we all have "daddy issues".

    I agree with what you're saying. Some old guys called the cops on my little sister of 14 for "suspicious behavior" when she was walking on their street and stopped for several minutes to admire and play with an intricate spider web. But if you don't have the right to follow someone who you find suspicious, then we citizens never have the chance to prevent crimes, which the cops are largely incapable of doing.

    What you're saying makes sense in theory, but there is the issue of disobedience by Zimmerman. When Zimmerman called the police and told them what he thought was going on, the police dispatcher, after having heard Zimmerman's account, then told George to stop pursuing Trayvon. George over-stepped his duties and tried to be a real cop instead of a watchman. If he had done what the police dispatcher asked him, he wouldn't be in this situation to begin with. He put himself and Trayvon in danger.

  • @HipHopAn0n
    @HipHopAn0n 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Actually, I listened to the 911 call (hopefully you already did). The dispatcher said "We don't need you to do that." Was it dangerous for Zimmerman to follow Martin? Sure. Wrong and illegal? No.
    Zimmerman did NOT put Martin in danger by stepping out of his vehicle - apparently he did put himself in danger by doing so though, given what happened. Trying to be a "real cop" is also not illegal unless you're actually impersonating an officer. In a bad neighborhood cops can't stop crime.

  • @HipHopAn0n
    @HipHopAn0n 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    It's not illegal to "provoke" someone. You could unknowingly talk to some guy's girlfriend in the club, and he decides to punch you based on your "provocation". The only thing that matters is self-defense and who threw the first punch or drew the first weapon, and all the available evidence points to Trayvon having PHYSICALLY aggressed against Zimmerman.

    especially when you haven't actually seen that person committing a crime. The fact that he followed someone without any provocation or legitimate reason for following him should be an issue.

  • @SICE1234
    @SICE1234 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    If he felt he was up to no good and looks suspicious as he said in the 911 call, then why would he follow him? Wouldn't that almost guarantee an altercation? And in the state of Florida we all know (Zimmerman knows better than any) the right to stand your ground in the face of an altercation.
    "Shit, he's running"
    -George Zimmerman
    He pursued the suspect (suspect in his mind) because Trayvon ran when he sensed someone following him.
    "These assholes,they always get away"
    -George Zimmerman

  • @GodKiller97
    @GodKiller97 11 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Zimmerman has to be pretty fucking egotistical to not regret killing a person, regardless of the circumstances. If you had to kill someone in self-defense, you wouldn't think that you might wish you might have avoided the confrontation by ten minutes, or maybe wishing that, in Zimmerman's case, that all the time taken out of his life was worth an event that could have EASILY been avoided? The only justification for not regretting (not feeling guilty) of the situation is a megalomaniac.
