I have mad love and respect to Immortal Technique, he knows what he's talking about and really hope he keeps doing what he's doing. I swear I could listen to him talk all day.
Amazing how the dude has managed to keep his speech wise and humble amidst all the fame that follows him. His songs are ultra violent (much of it in debatably justified contexts btw) but at least by being so they overpower the trashier, shallower shit and bring the focus to a more trustworthy and accountable individual. Classic artist.
Yes! That's why I like this man. I just heard this guy and the shit he was talking about just got me it was deep and not superficial just so real. I will be exploring Immortal Techniques work more.
2:39 from Training Day. Love the way Immortal Technique just picked out one of the most memorable bits from the whole movie, even though it's just two words, a smile and a head movement. When Denzel Washington does it it's Oscar winning!
who ever ghostwrite for Nas? thats impossible, he writes too much he throws stuff away, his verses from 91 will body 95% of rappers today, nobody thinks like him and hes to original, nothing he spits is "catchy or pop"
@@uwotmate6014 They all exchange lines that isn't really ghostwriting. Rockers do the same shit. Ghostwriting is when they come up with the lyrical melody and the verse/chorus.
He's really good at using analogies, which is a really good technique to explain certain things to people that aren't well educated. I assume he's good because he's probably had to use that technique for the crowd he hangs out with. Either way, not trying to hate, he's a genius, but I feel like the music industry isn't a good way to contribute to a socioeconomic revolution.
I'm a writer too I have done ghost writing for several known artists. It is a sickening feeling to see someone else take credit for your work and prosper but its also a good feeling when you hear strangers singing your songs. I used to want to be a rapper until I found out what's really going on in the business and how shady it really is.
I'm glad i ran up on this by accident. I agree with him alot on some points. The 1st time i saw crack i was 11 it was my moms boyfriend. I ended up selling it one day and got in mad trouble, then I changed my life. My uncle was the biggest blow dealer in WNY back in the 80's & 90's I wanted to be him he had everything! He taught me how to be a real man and told me never to do what he did. But I chose to anyways. He said don't ever call me when you get busted. He was the first person I called! I am glad to say I do not rap about none of that much especially glorifying that life to the kids. Though recently I been more vocal about it on social media because people wanna know who the fuck I think I am and where I came from so I let them know. But I don't care what people think but I would like to use my gift from God for good.
this dude is smart and real..... that being said im sick of backpackers actin like all gangsta rap is fake. lots of "gangsta" rappers r fake but lots of gangsta rappers really do or have lived the life they rap about. just because lil wayne got caught with an unloaded gun doesnt mean that pimp c didnt have hoes.
EXACTLYYY. Best quote of all time that people don't get is "Hip Hop never left, We left Hip Hop" meaning there will ALWAYS be an artist for every listener, depends on if you wanna leave or not. And I agree with you 110% on the Hopsin thing,
yo i drink redbull all the time but after this interview i reall think im done idk what just happened but im done thankyou technique appreciate you big homie
I luv did Man intelligence as a dominican Mami he seeing deep within papi doing his thing and everyone is looking for some from of ignorance to criticize the man maybe if u read u wouldn't find hate in his words I agree with tech one trillion percent
Immortal Tech is awesome and I respect him for being himself and not trying be politically correct about anything. dudes in here making him out to be this messiah who can do no wrong and is always fighting for good when he's only human like the rest of us. We should be proud of his humanity and flaws. his talents and his contradictions. Instead of fighting for good, he's fighting for whats true and you can see him struggle with that through his music and even in the interview. listen and learn
Thanks for the reply. I'm a K Rino fan but recently I checked out Immortal Tech. And I was impressed. After K Rino matured he changed the way he rapped. He really cut down on the N word and profanity. I feel that Immortal Tech. Has a positive message that should be heard. When I say mindless vs. Masses I mean rap fans may appreciate his lyrics but we as a whole can benefit. And using the N word turns some people away.
If you haven't heard Immortal Tech then you should get on that, you won't regret it. He speaks the truth and he is a great example of a successful independent artist.
Hes not scared to say anything he's just above you'r intellect, and like he said who is he to accuse some1 if he wasn't there and saw it happen, thats truth and not speculation or rumor which most people rant about all the time at least immortal is real and speaks from the heart.
Iv been listening to this young brotha music n lyrics n i hear respect, truth. My young brotha preaching real knowledge. Listen and learn .. Im 52 yrs ive never heard a young brotha speak real truth.. Bendicion mi hermano
***** i get what your saying but i think he's just trying to point out liking our rappers a little more because of flows or their fame than their words because some of them aren't their own words, it would be different if they called it a collaboration and gave the credits to the person that wrote it than saying they wrote it themselves
By him inciting many people to look into things he talks about is a very good way to make a change. His service is a noble one. Any random person can spew the info that he speaks so coherently and artfully, but how many people would that random person reach? 2? 3?
His actor metaphor was invalid. Actor are given lines and directed on what to say and how to convey certain emotions not how it's executed. The actor has the final say in that. If they didn't they wouldn't have gotten the part. In this case "swag" isn't as directed as you'd think.
I would disagree, some actors can read a script and put on a good performance with just that, but others need the director to push them in the right direction. However, the movie is ultimately the director's.
I think he kind of got lost in his own analogy for a while there. What he probably meant was that actors read lines and are accepted while there is a double standard with Hip-hop...
I remember when I was 14 ( or 15 ) one day looking up rappers on the internet when one day I came across a video on wimp.com called war rap I clicked on it and it was immortal techniques cause of death. Im 22 now and think by doing that was one of the more smarter things I've done in life I've learned so much from immortal without even realising

Besides, he raps about far more than conspiracy theories.
This guy just straight up read my mind. People need to realise that music is just entertainment, sometimes you learn something from it and sometimes you just put it on just for fun. I've had arguments with people who have dismissed rappers because they're not "bout that life" like someone really gives a fuck about a rapper's personal life like that. Music is art and yes it is an extension of one's self but it isn't a total reflection. Very smart guy right here man mad respect.
I'm an older hip hop head....i heard about this guy maybe a year ago, finally got off my ass and checked him out on spotify...he is the truth. What the game is missing. A smart educated rational dude minus with flow, but also positive educational message...Public Enemy for the new millenium. He has filled a void in my soul (no homo)...in other words this dude brings balance to the force. I love gangsta/thug/trap rap, but there needs to be ying to that yang, hes the other point of reference.
He got mad respect based solely off his mention of Dolla. I respect you my dude. You made a lot of good points and statements, but your usage of Dolla made me respect you more!

I like how Immortal Technique won't give a conclusive opinion on something he doesn't know about. He only speaks on what he knows or has a working understanding in.
Immortal Techique is being honest and candid here. Its not cool to have a criminal record or have been to prison, and if you have its nothing to be proud of. And there are too many fake rappers in this industry who claim to be hustlers, gangsters and what not when the truth is they come from clean suburbs and probably never seen a gun in their lives.

Technique is the new version of KRS1...a hip-hop philosopher.
Immortal Techniques is the realist and speaks the truth. most intelligent rapper
He's the real god of hip hop. He keeps it 100 but he keeps it quite.
Damn, you can tell that Technique has a lotta respect and passion for Hip-Hop & the youth. That's something that I always admired about Tech.
Nas is the most consistent rapper in the history of Hip Hop. Show respect.
I bump Tech Interviews more than I bump his music! #genius
That's strange, his music is the same 😔

That's some thinly veiled condescension there...
Music is the key. Change minds, change the world. This key called music is one of many tools needed.
Dave Bruce Revolution can come from anywhere, brother. One truth, one love
With music hes been able to reach way more people than he couldve ever done any other way....
i enjoy to listening to every word this man has to say. smart man. madd respect. we need more rappers like him
i feel like he raps when he talks
Listen to poverty of philosophy- spoken word that sounds like a rap
Poetry without prose.

Great interview Immortal!!! I love you bro...speak that real ish!
Tech is untouchable.
A man who can say anything can do anything.
Immortal Technique is an amazing rapper... I don't listen to him much, But he deserves respect. He spits about real shit.
People really need to listen to this brother speak. No street talk comin out his mouth, just facts. No show boating, real intellect.
This guy just straight up read my mind. People need to realise that music is just entertainment, sometimes you learn something from it and sometimes you just put it on just for fun. speakin straight truth bruh
immortal is so damn educated, love how he speaks
It's a pleasure listening to this dude.
Somebody give this man an award!!!!!
I definitely don't, mayne. I just stumble on his interviews once in a while, and he surprises me, EVERY time.
The more this dude talks the more respect i gain for him...damn homie
Yeah, watching this made me respect Immortal Technique a lot more. He knows what's up.
