Fantastic tool hual. I do enjoy the flea market walk around just to see the difference between your area and Tennessee. Looking forward to seeing the restoration on the 2 new drills and I'm interested in the last one, too. Thanks for another great show
Thanks for the feedback! I'll be filming more at the local flea markets from now on. I finished the Van Dorn drill last weekend and it's an interesting tool. Slow and powerful.
I particularly enjoy the tool repair and restoration videos though I have to say the sound of that Montgomery Ward drill reminds me of recent visits to the dentist.
That's a really good haul. That Speed Master set is so rare, so complete and so pristine you should keep it. One of my best finds was a $5 crusty box sitting in a basement. It was loaded with vintage US made files, punches, taps and dies.
Thanks! I'll be keeping the Speed Master set even though I have no need for it. I will be restoring the box as well since it's quite rusty and will deteriorate further without attention. I do want to replicate the hammered blue color but there isn't a paint available to do that so it'll be a challenge.
Really nice tool collection. Yeah, I think video coverage of the flea markets are ok and even better when you pick up stuff you're gonna take with you. The large drill will be a great restoration video because it's something different. I think a good restoration and repair video would be the tool box with a complete set of the tools put back in it if you can find them.
Thanks! I'll be restoring the Speed Master box to stop it from degrading further. I actually just finished the Van Dorn drill this afternoon. It's an interesting design.
Definitely restore that box if you can. Sand, paint repair latches if you can so you can keep that set together. Montgomery Ward and Sears (as we as JC Penney) stores were in every small town in America back in the day. I’m not surprised to see Craftsman added to the Speed Master box. The guy bought that kit Montgomery Ward and the other set at Sears and was all he needed. Great to see Mugsy in the bed, I knew he would adapt eventually. Good to see Mr. T as well.
The video at the flea market was cool. You should do more. I have that Porter Cable heat gun. It works great, however I paid much more than $3. Also, I generally stay away from engraved with names, however I accidentally picked up a few by mistake. A fiber wheel on a bench grinder makes quick work removing the engraving. The nice haul!
Thanks for the feedback! From now on I'll shoot while I'm at the Flea Markets. What do you mean by a "fiber wheel"? I've got a lot of engraved tools and it would be nice if there were a way to remove them without taking off much material.
Thanks for the feedback. I'll add more footage from the actual flea markets. I recently went to a great estate sale and filmed some of that as well. Treasure hunting can be fun if you set your sights low.
They can be if the wiring is old or worn. After you wire them up correctly and make sure everything is insulated you should be fine. I'm careful to check all wiring before I I run them.
That's a nice hall. The Van Dorn had a heavier gage cord... That's not the original size....and it did have a very ( to me) unusual strain relief. If I remember correctly.
The Montgomery Ward drill looks good. Too bad it is just a little too big to go in that box. Maybe you can find more Speed Master tools to put in the restored box.
Thanks! It's unfortunate that the video of that drill restoration is blurry but out of 177 videos on the channel that's the first I had to scrap so that's not bad. I'm going to be looking for what I need to complete that Speed Master set. For now, I plan on restoring the box so it doesn't rust any further.

lol! Doesn't it though! So funny to hear it torque up as it ran too.
@@floridarusticrepairs Yikes!

The Speed Master set is a gem! Looking forward to see what you do with it. I like the videos of the flea markets. It's interesting
I agree. I had to buy that set even though I have no need for it. :) I'll start adding the footage of the actual flea markets.

Thanks! I'll be restoring the box. so sad that all of these stores are gone. i used to enjoy just walking around and looking at the tools.
Got yourself a great bargain in those tools. Hope you had a great Christmas Holiday. I like seeing you shop at the Flea Markets. Happy New year. 🎊🎆🎈
Thanks! I'll start filming more at the flea markets while I walk around looking.
Great flea market finds
Thanks! The Speed master set was the gem of the bunch but I'm now using that heat gun regularly so maybe that was the actual deal.
Definitely do some footage at the flea markets
I will. I'll also be adding some footage of an estate sale I went to recently.

I love the final shot of Mugsy in his bed (I call them wireless chargers)
Thanks! It was so funny that while I was filming Mugsy finally decided to try the bed out. He loves it now.
The power craft tools I remember this tool set .
I'm still wondering what's missing from it. So far I haven't found any info on what was actually included for sockets.
Mugsy is in the BED!!!! Yayyyy
When I closed up tonight I had to carry him from the bed into the house. It's a good spot for him to keep an eye on whatever I'm working on.
@ that is Awesome
@ that is Awesome, I am so glad to hear this!!
Those all meatal drills are so dicey

Thanks! I've already worked on the Van Dorn drill. That video will be coming soon.
@@floridarusticrepairsI had one years ago I like them.
