My suggestion is if you have a next-gen console that you wait for the new upcoming deluxe remaster, it's got hundreds of quality of life improvements (INCLUDING THE FACT THAT THEY FINALLY ADDED A STAIRCASE IN FRONT OF THE VENT AREA ON THE MALL ROOF SO YOUR SURVIVOR NPCS AREN'T GETTING FUCKING STUCK ANYMORE) and last gen console remasters of the original 2 dead rising games for ps4 have been riddled with crashes and technical issues I'm pretty sure DR1 PS4 remaster doesn't crash as much as the second one though, and also from what I remember, dead rising 2: off the record doesn't crash as much as the other two, it's literally just dead rising 2 with a Frank West reskin followed by a few gameplay changes
i just saw that there actually selling us OG Frank Skin for how he should look like for DR 1 as a DLC Skin for the Delux edtion.... thats a Red Flag if you ask me and the new VA sounds way to much like DR 4 Frank
I think dr4 frank is the actor this time around, honestly I think he's pretty solid! Not exactly sure how og frank being a preorder bonus or dlc is a red flag but so far everything looks god tier
No, it's not. There are plenty of things to criticize about it. The camera is easily the worst in the series because it is so close to the player and has a constant shaking effect. The map system is far worse than the first two, with fewer details of what area or room has what in it. The blueprint to make combo weapons is stupid and limits you from using anything as a weapon. It is also bad because you have to find them on an awful map with little detail and no floor options like the first two. The story is just bad, and the characters are wasted potential.
@@RedStar2002B Ok, counterpoint: Camera - I'd say DR1's camera is actually worse because when you try to aim, it aims where Frank is facing, and not where the camera is facing.I'd be able to forgive the devs for this if they didn't also make aiming the stiffest and most awkward aiming I think I've ever used. Map - I think there's a lot less stuff on the map because there's a lot less stuff in the world of the game. And also because you're supposed to explore the game world yourself and not just look on a map to get to the next point. Blueprints - Again, something you're supposed to find while exploring the game world. "limits you from using anything as a weapon" ???? You can still use like regular stuff as weapons. Throw a chair, or a baseball bat, or a whole tennis machine. It's not like DR4 where baseball bats and stuff can't be thrown because they're considered "melee weapons". "you have to find them using an awful map" No you don't. The map is just to help you to know where you might be able to find them but you still have to put some effort to look for them. "no floor options" Because nobody puts floors on a city map because that stuff can change. Story - That's an opinionated thing and I can't argue against that because that's your opinion.
@romancatholicgameing When I say Camera, I'm talking about the camera in general. The map system I'm talking about is about the map you look at on screen when you are looking for something. In 1 and 2, the map system was great to look at what area has what in it and the options to swap floors. It makes it more frustrating and less helpful compared to the first two games. This is another problem I have with the blueprints is that yeah you can look them on the map, but the game map does not give you the option to find the floor it is and the way that a lot of them are just scattered around as opposed to just unlocking them like 2 doesn't make it fun either. It also suffers from the fact you can't just randomly make them like you could in 2 as well.
@@RedStar2002B The reason there's no "floors" option is because nobody has floors on a map of the city. It's more realistic for there to be no floors option. It makes sense for the other games, one's in a mall, the other is in a casino area. So it makes sense for those maps to have floors. Like I said, the map is less useful in locating blueprints because you're supposed to put at least a little bit of effort trying to find where the blueprint is. Or just find it naturally while exploring the game world.
DR4 def killed it. I wouldn't even say it was the exclusivity at the time. DR began as an Xbox exclusive with the OG. Dead Rising 3 was excellent and 4 just worse in almost every way.
i think dr lost its spark when it started taking itself too seriously, for me dr 1 is the best game by miles, it perfectly captures the whole point of a dr game whereas the sequels kind of just started to focus on the killing zombies aspect i cant really think of any possible way they could mess up drdr, literally just update the graphics, possibly add a few more side modes or whatever to bulk the game up to fit it's retail price (obviously depending on what that is)
@@MildCrisp appreciate it, people seem to forget the original idea was around a journalist looking for a story and ends up being an integral part in busting a case wide open about the us bombing a country that then wanted revenge by using the undead, zombies was literally a by-product of the main story
i agree all the games were really good till 4 came the combat is usually the one thing i want to do at least one time mow down some zombies but damn you get randomly hit for no reason when your in a horde it becomes impossible
@@MildCrisp thats the reason why I don't want to try it getting hit randomly while the zombies attacking is bs on a harder difficulty it'll be even more annoying it's not like nightmare in dead rising 3 at least that's fair and becomes easier and you level up like the old games dr4 isn't built for a harder difficulty you get little room to dodge Frank loses stamina fast and you get hit randomly and some enemies have armored attacks
"were going to skip over those games" you mean were only going to install these 2 noteable ones because i dont feel like try Harding 3 dead rising games at once
Foolish of you to think I didn't no life every game in the series as a kid, literally beat 1, otr, and 3 for the video, I think I coulda snuck yhe rest of the series if I wanted to I LOVE DEADRISINGGGGGF !!! (btw otr literally has every single aspect of all the games and then some since it came out after all of them so why not use it)
Dead Rising 4, they changed everything and made it bad. The worst character in the game is Vick Chu . Vick Chu ruined the Dead Rising series. They got rid of the Psychopaths
Dead Rising 2 was actually already the start of the downfall to me, even though I did really enjoy it. It was the start of the departure from the fantasy of “dude in mall using every day objects against zombies”. Squirting them with ketchup, throwing pizza at them, tripping them up with marbles, tossing CDs, smashing plants over their heads, smashing a drill through one and using its spinning body to mow down others. THAT was what made Dead Rising for me. 2 started the trend of building ridiculous, unrealistic weapons to explode big groups of zombies, rendering the everyday objects irrelevant. If they do a new Dead Rising after the remaster, I think they should lean towards new ways of using everyday objects to interact with zombies rather than combo magic power weapons.
@@SoBor911 I don’t think it “should”. I don’t see anything wrong with embracing that an idiot in a mall killing zombies is a dude fantasy. Like how many guys have made a zombie outbreak plan at some point compared to girls. No point tailoring a franchise for people who aren’t really into it. Both would be cool though, like DR3 had a female protagonist in a DLC.
A female protagonist could be cool if they don’t make her an annoying character. Adding a female main character doesn’t necessarily mean that the game is being tailored towards women, it just means that there’s a woman who needs to kill zombies 👍
@@MildCrisp it kinda does and kinda doesn’t. It would create a different feel either way. Dude killing zombies in a mall would have a different feeling to woman killing zombies in a mall. Like how in Resident evil 2 Leon’s part has a different tone to Claire’s. Same with Jill and Chris and again Leon and Ada in 4 Remake. A female-led side story or two leads like GTA6 is a good compromise imo.
Capcom killed it and is trying to revive it now. Capcom Vancouver or Bluecastle Games made at least 3 good games and 2 good standalone dlc : Dead Rising 2 , Dead Rising 3 , Dead Rising Case West and Case Zero. Also Dead Rising 4 being a bad game is very debateable. The gameplay mechanics are good just the way Frank was presented rubbed a lot of fans of the wrong way. So if Capcom cares so much why do they not reopen Capcom Vancouver , hire back who they fired and get TJ Rotolo to voice Frank again ?????
Capcom Vancouver also made Dead Rising Off The Record. So after all these hit games they made one questionable game ( which as far as I know have been pushed by Capcom to release it after a short development cycle ) So do you guys get what I'm getting at lol It certainly wasn't all Capcom Vancouvers fault.
Apperantly a game is automatically shit if we haven’t seen more gameplay or footage of it becayse it’s clearly not trying to be the old game but something much more yeah dude your so close minded
Also consider that you can always go and play the old games, something you can't say for devs like rockstar, who make a absolutely sht remasters and removes the originals from the store completely!
Really sad that DRDR is just a remaster, but at least it's new DR content. Still, crazy how they just took content out of the game and put it out as double the price of the original
@@MildCrisp No clue for on release, but that doesn't really matter since the point is the original has more content and is only 20 usd, compared to this games 50 usd
@poptartninja The remaster just replaced some dodgy design decisions from the sound if it. $50 gets you a game that looks great, plays great, and is less clunky than a game nearly two decades old. Once I play it I'm sure I'll get my $60 worth
dead rising 4 should be considered to never exist, dead rising 3 did many thigns wrong the weapons lockers the survivors don't take friendly fire damage so u are less careful around then etc no much escort missions but above all it was still a good game, i did not play it and said it was bad, i prefer dead rising 2 off the records but when im in the mood to play dead rising, i play dead rising 2 otr and after i beat it i play dead rising 3, its still a good game. dead rising 3 reduced the difficulty so much thats why i think i prefer dead rising 2, the weapon lockers and the skill that let you combo anything is the major issue for me, you really don't need to manage items anymore when you can spawn then anytime you want.
I think over time people learned to respect dr3 for what it is. I've always liked the game for what it was, glad to see that it's some people's favorite :D
Paleontology Records show that a few dead’s were actually rising around 2.4 million years ago with the earliest fossil actually being found 2.5 million years ago believe it or not!
@@MildCrisp I do think there are some interesting things, like the fast food joint, and boxing ring, my main problem is the road blocks and maze like map design, I personally feel that A dead rising game needs a map that allows you to memorize it for planning your runs
I think the map is also one that you'd need to memorize due to the roadblocks you mentioned. I agree with you to an extent though, some of the areas look a bit samey so it can be hard to know exactly where you're at but for the most part I can deal with that. I understand your point of view regardless :D

Bro your opinion on Dead Rising peaking at 2 is completely off base and honestly, pretty stupid. Dead Rising 4 is by far the best in the series, and anyone with half a brain can see that. First off, the gameplay mechanics are way more refined. The controls are smoother, the combat feels more satisfying, and the variety of weapons and combos you can pull off is insane. Dead Rising 4 takes everything good about the previous games and perfects it. the open world in Dead Rising 4 is vastly superior. The map is larger, more detailed, and way more fun to explore. Plus, the holiday-themed setting adds a unique and enjoyable twist that the earlier games simply don’t have. The sheer number of zombies on screen at any given time is mind-blowing, and the AI is actually challenging, unlike in Dead Rising 2 where they just wander around like idiots. Also, the storyline in Dead Rising 4 is the most engaging. Frank West is fucking back, and he’s better than ever. The humor, the character development, and the overall plot are miles ahead of the previous entries. Dead Rising 2 was a decent game, but it doesn't even come close to the depth and polish of Dead Rising 4. So, next time, think a bit harder before spewing such nonsense
Guess someone is trying to justify buying that garbage, can’t blame you i tried to love it but frank isn’t frank and the story was hot garbage but the map and gameplay was okay dr3 was better but to this day nothing beats the original dead rising
Ah yes total character assassination, bad writing, bad psychos and to mention the charming humour we once had turned into MCU level jokes Sorry bucko but the series did peak at 2

My suggestion is if you have a next-gen console that you wait for the new upcoming deluxe remaster, it's got hundreds of quality of life improvements (INCLUDING THE FACT THAT THEY FINALLY ADDED A STAIRCASE IN FRONT OF THE VENT AREA ON THE MALL ROOF SO YOUR SURVIVOR NPCS AREN'T GETTING FUCKING STUCK ANYMORE)
and last gen console remasters of the original 2 dead rising games for ps4 have been riddled with crashes and technical issues
I'm pretty sure DR1 PS4 remaster doesn't crash as much as the second one though, and also from what I remember, dead rising 2: off the record doesn't crash as much as the other two, it's literally just dead rising 2 with a Frank West reskin followed by a few gameplay changes
i just saw that there actually selling us OG Frank Skin for how he should look like for DR 1 as a DLC Skin for the Delux edtion.... thats a Red Flag if you ask me and the new VA sounds way to much like DR 4 Frank
I think dr4 frank is the actor this time around, honestly I think he's pretty solid! Not exactly sure how og frank being a preorder bonus or dlc is a red flag but so far everything looks god tier
@@MildCrispfr
It's not dead. Thank The Sphere Hunter and other reviewers for that.
Game studio quite literally got shut down, community is still alive and well tho :D
People still blame 3 when it’s just as much beloved as the other 2 games
No, it's not. There are plenty of things to criticize about it. The camera is easily the worst in the series because it is so close to the player and has a constant shaking effect. The map system is far worse than the first two, with fewer details of what area or room has what in it. The blueprint to make combo weapons is stupid and limits you from using anything as a weapon. It is also bad because you have to find them on an awful map with little detail and no floor options like the first two. The story is just bad, and the characters are wasted potential.
@@RedStar2002B Ok, counterpoint:
Camera - I'd say DR1's camera is actually worse because when you try to aim, it aims where Frank is facing, and not where the camera is facing.I'd be able to forgive the devs for this if they didn't also make aiming the stiffest and most awkward aiming I think I've ever used.
@romancatholicgameing I did, and I hated it.
dead rising 2 had good survivor AI and was a great game
DR4 def killed it. I wouldn't even say it was the exclusivity at the time. DR began as an Xbox exclusive with the OG. Dead Rising 3 was excellent and 4 just worse in almost every way.
i think dr lost its spark when it started taking itself too seriously, for me dr 1 is the best game by miles, it perfectly captures the whole point of a dr game whereas the sequels kind of just started to focus on the killing zombies aspect
i cant really think of any possible way they could mess up drdr, literally just update the graphics, possibly add a few more side modes or whatever to bulk the game up to fit it's retail price (obviously depending on what that is)
Bait
I'ma keep it real this is the most open minded and real comment I've seen in my life
@@MildCrisp appreciate it, people seem to forget the original idea was around a journalist looking for a story and ends up being an integral part in busting a case wide open about the us bombing a country that then wanted revenge by using the undead, zombies was literally a by-product of the main story
@@lazyvoid7107 cool, look at my response to the other comment
i agree all the games were really good till 4 came the combat is usually the one thing i want to do at least one time mow down some zombies but damn you get randomly hit for no reason when your in a horde it becomes impossible
Not sure if you tried Blackest Friday but the damage is so high that youll die in a couple of hits at game start it's so ridiculous
(btw otr literally has every single aspect of all the games and then some since it came out after all of them so why not use it)
Whats the music in the background at the start?

Dead rising 2 and 3 were good personally haven’t played 1 but will play drdr but dr4 was just… terrible 😅
Agreed
@@XfinityWifiGuyI’m glad
Capcom and Microsoft. Their "genius" idea to let some bozos make a game in under a year - Dead Rising 4 - which is always a "great" idea.
If it ever comes, the next Dead Rising should also have a female protagonist...
@@christopherbradley7149 Are women small and frail in your eyes
Its not a remake, it's a remaster. And its already shit because TJ Rotolo isn't there
Me when I am close minded:
Apperantly a game is automatically shit if we haven’t seen more gameplay or footage of it becayse it’s clearly not trying to be the old game but something much more yeah dude your so close minded
Majority of deadrising games are pretty good so hopefully it lives up to the source material
What you just said is comparable to fans bitching about Henry Cavil not being Superman anymore
Give it a fucking chance first
Also consider that you can always go and play the old games, something you can't say for devs like rockstar, who make a absolutely sht remasters and removes the originals from the store completely!
Really sad that DRDR is just a remaster, but at least it's new DR content. Still, crazy how they just took content out of the game and put it out as double the price of the original
Elaborate
@@MildCrisp the censorship/removing of certain plot elements to psychos
How much more does this cost compared to the original on release
@@MildCrisp No clue for on release, but that doesn't really matter since the point is the original has more content and is only 20 usd, compared to this games 50 usd
@poptartninja The remaster just replaced some dodgy design decisions from the sound if it. $50 gets you a game that looks great, plays great, and is less clunky than a game nearly two decades old. Once I play it I'm sure I'll get my $60 worth
Dead rising 3 is goated and i will die on this hill
Dead rising 4 killed the franchise
DR was great 2 was good OTR was good, 3 was good to me 4 was wacky but definitely where shit hit the fan
Dead rising 4 ruined the series. this is what you get trying to please a new crowd , if you do its going to flop. 1-3 was gold
Capcom handing it toba western studio that knows nothing about the franchise.
I hate the slowdown from 2:05 to 2:08 some weapons do from the DR ports
I used to not like it but it became so satisfying over time
DR4 killed the series
dead rising 4 should be considered to never exist, dead rising 3 did many thigns wrong the weapons lockers the survivors don't take friendly fire damage so u are less careful around then etc no much escort missions but above all it was still a good game, i did not play it and said it was bad, i prefer dead rising 2 off the records but when im in the mood to play dead rising, i play dead rising 2 otr and after i beat it i play dead rising 3, its still a good game.
dead rising 3 reduced the difficulty so much thats why i think i prefer dead rising 2, the weapon lockers and the skill that let you combo anything is the major issue for me, you really don't need to manage items anymore when you can spawn then anytime you want.
I'm happy that DR 4 exist.
DR3 is the best in the series hands down I don’t understand the hate it gets someone done sum right at Capcom

The 3rd game’s map is not that good
It has shortcomings but I think it's fairly fun to traverse personally:D
@@MildCrisp I do think there are some interesting things, like the fast food joint, and boxing ring, my main problem is the road blocks and maze like map design, I personally feel that A dead rising game needs a map that allows you to memorize it for planning your runs
I think the map is also one that you'd need to memorize due to the roadblocks you mentioned. I agree with you to an extent though, some of the areas look a bit samey so it can be hard to know exactly where you're at but for the most part I can deal with that. A crap story and crap last game.
Dead rising 3 & 4 killed the franchise
Um. Did you literally get ur dad to write that for you????
Guess someone is trying to justify buying that garbage, can’t blame you i tried to love it but frank isn’t frank and the story was hot garbage but the map and gameplay was okay dr3 was better but to this day nothing beats the original dead rising
