The mill at Babcock Park is made from a family mill that was in Pocahontas county. As a kid Dad carved his initials on a rafter inside. It is still there today!!! Again Thanks

Great video, the first viewing many surrounding attractions. Most are a glorified rest stop at the Bridge Center. We Pennsylvanias railfaned the Gorge from Hawks Nest to Hinton.

Thank you for watching! Dogs are allowed on all the trails we hiked on, including state parks, as long as they are on a 6 foot leash. I hope you also get a chance to visit some of the state parks while you are there. Safe travels.

A great and helpful video. Well done. I'm planning a trip there in April '24. What is the name of that open field campground that you showed and stayed at? (with electric and water) I'm bringing my big telescope and need an open field just like that campground has.
I think the campground was Meadow Creek. We also travel with a telescope and find that it’s not easy getting the sky view in the mountains. This campground should be a great place. Thanks for watching.

Babcock was built in the 30’s by the CCC. The mill was placed there in 1976. It was created from parts of other West Virginia mills.

I am staying at babcock state park campground tomorrow actually, and if you are curious I paid $45 for a site with electricity.
