Please be aware of scammers below this video in the comments (and all videos going forward for that matter). They’re posing as myself claiming prizes have been won and to contact them etc. I have blocked them but they keep coming back. Really sorry about this guys but I don’t have too much control over it! Thanks for all the emails from those informing me of these comments (very helpful) and if you could report these comments that’d be mega. Cheers 🙏🏼
It would be great if you could do a video on how you post process a focus-stacked image with moving elements such as the windblown bluebells in the foreground. Also how you deal with exposure bracketed, focus-stacked shots with moving elements such as you did for the first image in this video. It definitely adds to the complexity. They turn out great so it would be interesting to see how you process those and get such nice results.
Yes, given how much those bluebells were moving I was amazed Henry mentioned exposure bracketing and focus stacking. I find I normally have to pick a shutter speed and then tweak the ISO/Aperture to get the histogram about right.
I honestly NEVER get bored of the record scratch sheep, man. Please always include that if you get the opportunity. :-) Knocked it out the park again! Thanks for doing all you do. This is absolutely huge for enthusiasts like myself, not only for information but inspiration. You're a real treasure!
The blue drum is an automatic feeder for pheasants, shooting clubs put them out to keep the pheasants on they're patch, a bit like catching fish in a barrel, SPORT no way. Superb vlog as always Henry.
Another great video Henry working my way though some of your older videos. As others have said the blue hopper is for feeding gamebirds and as it's in the wood they will be for pheasants. I'm a former gamekeeper , we used to use 100's of these around the woods. At a time when the blue bells are out they are not in use.
I use to enjoy the beautiful English wood lands as a child, nice to see your walks and scenes. Lived in Australia for 40 years now, the photography, very arid, lots of reds/browns mix in most of the country. Perspective, so right about controlling it. At golden hour, I often just go -shotgun- shoot everything, different zoom and wides, and keep walking and shooting until there is no light, its really productive.
Top man as always Henry. Yes, you got it right the blue bin is indeed a game feeder. Living on the Yorkshire Wolds we see plenty of them. Keep up the good work. Regards, Andy
In today's world of shooting wide open you have given us some stunningly beautiful shots achieved by stopping down. As you have pointed out many times before, there is beauty all around us if we are smart enough to see it.
The Image of the light on the moss going down the trail at 13:38 was spectacular. Something I tend to look for in the forests. Very important subject also. All the images were great.
Stunning images today! You are so lucky to have such beautiful surroundings. Our spring is so late to arrive here in the Midwest of the USA. Our oaks don’t have any leaves yet and I haven’t seen any bluebells popping yet either. Hopefully soon our weather will turn warmer. We had frost here last night 😒
Thanks for sharing the charm of spring-time in the UK. All the colors were rich and the compositions were exceptional. Each time you were setting up a shot, I thought I knew what the photo would look like. However, each one was far beyond what I was dreaming up. Good work Mr. Turner!
yes, 1st image was about the, light but the beautiful bluebells made a great foreground against the sunburst. Beautiful.. Love how you use the shadow to limit the amount of light in the image, resulting in saturation of colour in the bluebells. The last image is stunning.. the play of light is truly gorgeous and all ground lines lead to the superb sunburst.. Thank you, Henry. A veritable feast for eye and brain.. i'm loving the colour contrasts too..
I have just enjoyed 15 minutes of escape to a bluebell woodland and savoured those beautiful images. What a treat. Hope you enjoyed the madras at the end of the shoot Henry, you looked as though you needed food and rest! But I know the feeling. In such beautiful conditions you just want to keep on going. Thanks for taking us along.
Mr. Turner. You excel. In your images, your tenacity and enthusiasm and your interaction with us the viewer. With so many other photography channels to watch, you are by far my go-to channel. You photograph everything I take pictures of. You present in a warm and friendly manner and if I lived oop-north I’d be booking a 1-2-1; if only to create my own video haha. I hope you enjoyed your curry. Out!
Light is one of the hardest things for a photographer to really understand, not so much the quantity but the quality. Digital cameras make it easier because you don't have to wait for film to come back from the lab and the quality of the images has gotten very good over the last several years without having to sell the farm to afford the gear. Even My d500 can render some amazing images.
Thanks again Henry for sharing your experience with great comments & results... great location and compositions & always enjoy hearing what settings you are using ... cheers from Australia 😀
You're constantly inspiring and challenging, even when you're not feeling 100%. That final shot did it for me...simply superb! Henry, please take care. We need ya healthy, mate. 🙏
Hi Henry, you've excelled yourself again, thanks for another grand day out. Who can blame you for not wanting to stop when you've got such subject matter to work with. Super images and thanks for sharing, and I bet the Madras was all the finer for having worked so hard.
Well done Henry! the 1st Bluebell shot is an absolute winner, shot 2 very peaceful, shot 4 very nice, shot 3 not sure about the fence dude! A good day thanks Del
Cracking vid as usual Henry, jeezo man I was feeling for you at the end there you looked and sounded washed out but still with a giant smile, brilliant. That last shot did it for me, just stunning. 👍😎
Amazing shot of Bluebells Henry. I just got done shooting Bluebells in Hallerbos Belgium. So beautiful. You should make this a yearly Workshop. "CHASING BLUEBELLS".
Loved this video, every single photo was the best! I have always had a fascination with the UK stone walls, so I was very glad to see you feature one in another photo.
Bliss! Bliss indeed! Another wonderful vlog and yet again your enthusiasm and clear explanations shine through Henry. Luckily, I have ancient bluebell woods right on my doorstep and on each morning dog walk (even on dull days) the vistas, scent and colour is wonderful. Forecast is for a sunny evening so I'll leave it to you to guess where I might be later! Keep up the good work! :-)
Henry, another great video but I must admit I am a little envious of your weather. Today we had northerly winds that drop the temperature and turned the rain into snow flurries a high of 3 Celsius with a windchill of -2. No leaves on the trees yet but the buds are coming.🙂
That first image definitely was worth all of the work, it turned out great! But I also love the second image and the last image! The bluebells are so beautiful, wish we had them here!
Another fantastic episode and the "photographer shuffle" or walking about before taking your camera out of the bag is the one piece of advice that sticks with me from our 1-2-1 last year 😀
Love you videos and adventures. In this vid, you spoke about the difficulties you would have in post....... any chance you can do a vid on your post production process for a picture like that with focus stack and exposure blend.
Amazing images as always. You are a true master of your craft. Focussing stacking, something else blending … all mind boggling to me. No wonder my attempt at bluebells didn’t come out very well. There is another art for me to explore in post production in which I only achieve the basics. Thank you for your weekly videos which are always inspiring and uplifting. Keep babbling and living the dream. It was good to experience the bliss of this week’s location even if it was only via the TV. Bless you Henry.
Great set of images again! While you were on about stopping at that tree and how nice it looked, I said, out loud, "Oh he should use the line of the fence to lead into that and catch the light on the leaves." Sure enough, 2 minutes later you were shooting the image I had in my mind. The texture and color of the moss did well with the leaves and the light. Well done Mr. Turner, well done. Maybe in a future adventure can you talk about how you focus stack AND bracket in the same image? Manual process or do you let the Z7 do the work? Cheers!
Great images and fantastic work sorting the carnage in your first image. Dealing with a range of aspects in the field and in post definitely makes the difference between a good image and a great image. Also can’t beat 2nd day curry 👍🏼
Thanks very much Henry for another great video. Always inspiring and also very educational, I've not tried focus stacking before but it's about time I gave it a go after your first shot as it looked superb.
Thanks for all your work. I've learned a lot from your videos and also really enjoy joining you on your adventures. I'd love to see a video of you post processing the blue bells photo. Thanks again Henry!
Excellent video man you left it all out there I say you slept ( after your curry:) ) the last 2shots beautiful especially the fence and the Oak. Take care.
@@HenryTurnerphoto all good it's the long weekend here in Irelandn the weather is great so hope to get to the seaside on Sunday for a few photos between the kids sandcastles. Hope you have a great weekend
Looks better on a laptop, Just wondering if you are having any problems with noise on your Z7. I have ever since the last update. If so how do you deal with it. I have a Lightroom account and intend to try to set up a preset. I intend to eventually get a 100-400mm, but have to use a Tamron af70-300mm at the moment.
Hi Henry, I've been watching and enjoying your channel for a while now and thought I'd let you know.... It's not "babble". Its great content, simply put and it make a novice like me believe I can maybe take a nice photo too. So thanks.... "out".
Great shots, wonderful sunbursts too. I actually took one kind of similar to your first one a few months back, with the sun coming through the trees in the background in a forest only the landscape was covered in snow broken by red rocks.
Henry another great video and advice however, can I ask after you have taken the photographs, headed home do you then edit the pictures? If so which pic are you showing us the viewer the original or the edited? Interested as I've just started shooting in jpg and raw but I struggle to edit as that's not what I saw and took photograph of.

I've had two of them today Henry but since I've never won anything in 69 years, I just ignored them :-)
Hi Henry,
I have got the same message.
Thanks for letting me know.
I had the same message too. Just deleted it.

Lovely video! I also loved the beautiful music...Greetings from Memphis, Tennessee.

You are right Henry, the blue things that aren't bluebells are pheasant feeders. I love the images you have created.

Totally agree separation is so important with woodland or just trees in general for Photography
ESPECTACULAR

Those blue bins are called 'Photographer Traps', farmers put a bit of beer in the bottom and wait for photographers to get caught trying to drink it.
