It is always satisfying to give new life to an old, well-used tool. When you are doing the work, it is as if you are paying your respects to those who have gone before. Nicely done. Thanks for the video.
Great restoration and you certainly don’t muck about with the belt sander! Amazing mods. Good to see it working for you now. That draw knife footage was perfection. So satisfying with a sharp, well used draw knife.
I searched for two years at flea markets and yard sales. No luck. Paid full retail online at ROCKLER Co. Thanks for always supporting my work, greatly appreciate it. 👍
Appreciate your input. Great to get confirmation from the master. By the way I was a Boy Scout. Lost my way when father divorced family when I was 12. Still can recite 12 traits. I loved going to Scout Camp in mountains of WNC, learned so much that has helped me thru life.
And vow a follow up on the Rikon. What more can a fella ask for and get. I have my Wen working well so I Thank I will stick with it until it dies and then get a Rikon with "Mods". Cant do with out my surface conditioning belts. That is one sweet hammer and it looks great with your resto. My hammers go from 2 oz to 30 oz so I would like to find a big boy like yours. Great video.
I thought that was a pretty big ball peen hammer until I looked online and see there was an 800 pound ball peen........Somehow it got stolen and I'm not sure if they ever found it.......Digging a little more I found out they got the hammer head back but not the handle which was 21 feet long.
The hammer looks great! I'm glad you got those conditioning belts to work!

Thanks for the video.
It sure is! And thank you so much.
Beautiful job on that hammer. I love the handle. I have a small anvil like yours, found it at a yard sale.
Restoring hammers is always a ton of work but the results are worth it every time! Well done😀👍
It was a long project. That 2.5 lbs of steel can get heavy after an hour or two of leaning into that belt sander. Thank you for the encouragement.

Thanks Shed Man. Sure appreciate your feedback.
Like your DIY engineering. I might have to add one of those on my Xmas list. Well done with the hammer 🔨 👍

Really nice job. Very impressed with your ability to carve that handle top.
Thanks so much Ben. The right tool makes it easy. The hard part is sharpening that blade.
I had the same issue with the belts! They are so tight that only two work! Once they get going it's smooth sailing. Great stuff!

That Williams is a hand full. Appreciate your comment.
Absolutely awesome job
Thanks Smooth. Trust me, that hammer is smooth as you now. 🤣🤣🤣
I bought it at the Cattle Barn. Wish I knew name of vendor.
Nice job!
Thank you very much!
Good Restoration
Thanks so much. 👍 👍 👍
@@RestorationbyAlabamaCreeks You are welcome
I just picked up a 2 lb ball peen. Looking forward to restoring it as nicely as you did yours.

😂😂😂 I would last 30 minutes working with that 2-1/2 pounder. It is actually larger than most large ball peen according to John Fix.
