Love me some Proto tools. As a teenage DIY mechanic, I literally worshipped Proto and Snap-On tools -- I just couldn't afford them. They are excellent tools, and the hammer you got for $5.00 was in very good condition before you restored it, and that Hickory handle is primo. Nice 1/4" punch, too. Always useful. Great deals! Well done! 👍
Fantastic job. I’m glad you didn’t have to take off the handle cause that can be a ton more work! The boiled linseed oil handle and polished hammer head gives it a clean simple look. Well done👍
That is a great restoration on the Proto hammer. I just restored my first Proto a week ago and I understand why you like them. Their quality is amazing.
I saw your Proto hammer and have intended to watch. I didn't because I was afraid you video would be so good I'd get discouraged and put mine in the trash. I'll go watch it now and certainly will "like" and "comment." Thanks so much! And Merry Christmas!
Found a proto 24oz usa made one with the original green hexagonal handle but it was trashed but got xrazy lucky and found some NOS proto green hex handles on ebay, 2 for 20 and ordered them and glass beaded the head and polished it up. Looks too good to use now, wish i woulda just out some other hickory handle on it not the rare ones. Also found a 24oz proto challenger, didnt go crazy with it, just sanded the handle coated it with lin seed oil and cleaned the head up
I don't think there needs to be less time on polishing shots. I think this video is AWESOME! I learned a lot about restoration. Thanks Restoration by Alabama Creeks!

Thank Jerry. Appreciate the encouraging words.
Nothing beats a good Ball Peen hammer! Looks awesome! 😃👍
Thanks so much! Your words are so true. I love working with ball peens. And it so difficult to walk away from a orphaned ball peen at a flea market.
Absolutely 💯% awesome beautiful job as always my friend.
Thanks so much my friend! And Merry Christmas!
I love that you don’t over restore but refresh tools for everyday use.
Thank you R Ge! I’m doing my best to save great tools from the recycling bin!
Very nice restorations on both the hammer and punch.
Thanks so much Shed Man!
Fantastic clean up. The Proto is great. The punch look amazing. 👍
Thanks so much Resto-Rob!

That punch was 69 cents in 1966......Hammer turned out great, nice looking grain on that handle too.
Appreciate the history. I didn't do any research on these items as I sometimes do. Thanks so much! And Merry Christmas!
Awesome video! Proto tools are always a good find. I like how it fit into your set!

Nice restoration, I think your video can be improved, less time on polishing shots and more video on actual restoration. thanks, RD
Thanks for watching my video and commenting. I’ll try to do better next time.
