    Bro NTSC is 29.97 fps or 30 fps, so shutter speed goes to 1/60th, 23.97 is digital cinema, and 24 is film. I've been using the Osmo Pocket for my weekly youtube videos and completely agree in regards to lighting and especially to keep ISO at 100! Thank you for all the great tips!!! Keep up the great work!!!

    • @JasonMorrisphotocinema

      that is correct. I think you missed the script at the bottom that says keen shutter speed double your frame rate

    I absolutely agree that lighting is key especially with the Osmo Pocket. I have to say that I am overall very impressed with the auto settings for casual use. I just did a comparison between the GoPro Max and the Osmo Pocket and there is no competition in low light settings.

      B.S.T PROD PAL and NTSC are terms left over from the days of analogue video broadcast and have no real relevance with digital video. Without going into the details PAL was developed to overcome some of the shortcomings of NTSC encoding system.
      Frame rates were chosen to match the frequency of the AC electricity supply in the country as the mains frequency is very stable and having the same frequency for the frame rate minimised the effect of “hum bars” due poor filtering on the set DC supply.
      The only difference as far as digital video is concerned is that “PAL” will set a 25 FPS rate and “NTSC” a 30 FPS rate. (These are the field rates in an interlaced system)
      To further confuse the issue, if you are creating video for a theatre it is traditionally shot at 24 FPS

    This camera is better for overhead video for products unboxing or mobile phone?

  • @syncrovanCos
    @syncrovanCos 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hey Jason !
    As I already mentioned in past of your vlog comments section, the Osmo Pocket is my main camera. Since I travel full time, the only way to really check the quality of my images, are on phone and the laptop. There's any chance you could take a look on my images, from your biger screen and give me a real feedback ?
    I used some of the tips you already provided and try to improve my results, step by step.
    Regarding the Pal/NSTC , I never understood the point of this and although I'm in Europe zone, I use NSTC most of the time, even on my editing program. Maybe you should do a video comparison between 2 formats, for noobs like me.
    Another point, regarding manual and Iso, while traveling like me, being always on the move, sometimes is difficult to have it in manual mode and adjust in time, nit to lose some moments, especially in environments where light change often. For example, I put the osmo in dashboard and film myself while driving, but either I leave it in auto or manual, suddenly the light change and the image become so dark that can't even be used to the project. Happen to me, pretty often. I can't stop the car every time this happen, but in auto mode, if I move myself slightly toward the camera, at least the image get a bit more usable.
    Thank you for your contribute ! ✌️

    • @JasonMorrisphotocinema
      @JasonMorrisphotocinema  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi. Please email me. I would like to check this out and give you some feedback. with PAL and NTSC the only difference is the frequency of electricity in certain countries. The different frequency will show flickering in your footage when it comes to certain lights.

      there are thousands of lights to buy. It is all relative to what you need them for. I don't recommend any larger lights only small pocket lights which I have reviewed in several previous videos

    What is up with you and Parker Walbeck with your ears tucked up under a backwards ball cap???
    FYI... Those things were designed to stick out so you can hear better.
    Or are you and Parker brothers separated at birth and your father is Alfred P Newman?
