The breeo looks like the airflow from the bottom would get covered in ash and clogged, whereas the solo looks like the air flows from the outer ring around the center ash pan, lot less likely to clog the air off.

I have had a Solo Bonfire for about 3 years after seeing it on your channel. We love it and know 5 families that have bought one after seeing ours in use. Three of those 5 families use it on their decks successfully with just the ring under it. The biggest plus for us is the portability. We take it with us camping and it easily fits in the carry bag which goes into our pickup truck bed. We also purchased the lid which although doesn’t put the fire out, it contains the flame and sparks along with keeping rain out of it. Great comparison!

This has been one of my favorite videos yet. I actually didn’t know my solo has a removable bottom…although mine is older so I’m not sure if that was a change. Thanks for all the hard work!!

Very nice comparison !!!!! Breo is built better but as far as the cooking , I love my diy tri pod , adjusts easy , hangs evenly with 3 chains and I can do burgers ,steaks and a big pot of chili !!!!! Awesome ideas for people without much yard space tho !!!!!! Loved it Mike , thanks !!!!!

  • @jq2911

Pretty even demonstration for the tests. Very good job. For the cleanup, as a sub category, the Solo has the ash pan that you can empty the grate into and keep going without having to completely empty the main compartment. Also, for wood consumption, with 2" shorter firewood for the Solo, you burn 1 stick more for every 8 sticks with the Breo. Thus using less wood over time with the Solo. It's still a very hard choice to pick between these 2. I guess I wood need the Breo in my outdoor kitchen and the Solo next to my outdoor family room.

  • @jeffsinnaeve3817
    @jeffsinnaeve3817 ปีที่แล้ว +4

Thank you for the demonstration, Mike. Have to admit I am biased toward the Breeo primarily for its sturdy design, the cooking options and Made in U.S.A. quality. For all the reasons you identified in testing, it was the best choice for us and we enjoy it immensely. Looks great and has held up incredibly well for 3 years now. Too many flimsy pieces in the Solo; like you mentioned, just does not sound or appear to be a quality unit that will hold up for many years. Good job.

Great video Mike and Melissa! A lot of thought and efforts where appreciated! My question that could be added to your list is replacment parts. Do they both sell new fire pans, rings or any parts that would rust, dent, or ware out over time. So many products just require you to buy a whole new unit when you only need to replace i.e. a new bottom. I'd by the more expensive of anything if I can buy replacement parts as needed... thanks for the video

Also LOVE the fact it's made in the USA. I always shop for USA made products and even better that it came out on top of your review. I have a tiki brand smokeless fire pit. It has several different features, such as an ash drawer for clean up, an a dome that you can put inside of the burn area for pellets, and you can remove it for wood. It has "slats" going around the outside for a more rustic look. It's on the higher price point, just under $400 for the original pit.

Interestingly after watching many videos of you cooking on the Breeo, I researched the Solo further since I already have 1. They do offer wood pellets as a fuel option and they now offer a pizza oven option. Given the option to buy over I would lean towards the Breeo because of the seer ring that looks super useful. Solo is definitely playing the catch up game.

    Hey Mike and Melissa -
As nice as the Breeo and Solo Stoves are... they are just both out of my budget.
How do you feel about reviewing the Black & Decker Smokeless Fire Pit (BD17211)?
Includes the sear plate and swing-away grill for less than $500.
Keep up the great videos ! I think I've watched them all.

We have a Breeo, love it. Cooking on it is great. Made in USA. Durability is a big thing. I'm sure the Solo won't last as long. We also have the kettle hook for hanging a kettle or Dutch oven.

Always a good day when you can blow something up (controlled of course - safety first).
This is one of the top and informative videos so far. Good work Mr. Morgan. Always look forward to your videos.
    Take care.

You reviewed one of these or something similar that had a cook top a few weeks ago. That would be my pick just to add another family touch. When stopping for the night, should you let it burn out or use waters Wasn’t sure if water will shorten the life span?

Great video, M&M! I was disappointed when it ended. Will we get to see the results and the cooking part or was there not enough left?

A couple of thoughts. First, I wonder where Breeo get's their steel? Second, don't you think that the design of the bottom of the Solo is responsible for the nicer flame? (more oxygen?) Finally, how bad would the Breeo have to be before I buy a Chinese made stove before it? The made in USA category has more weight for me.
