I like Mary, but I'm shocked that Mary wasn't even passingly open to helping Sheldon get over his fear of dogs. It's nice that wanted to walk Sheldon back from his guilt, but there are a lot of dogs in the world that he's likely to come into contact with, and he has so many odd phobias. . .encouraging him to examine them and take steps that could help him get by in his day to day life a little easier seems like it would have benefited him in the long run.
Because she spoils him. She is a good mom but lacks in some departments, even more so when it comes to Sheldon. She is one of the biggest reasons Sheldon turned out the way he did which he had to go through a long journey to turn out to be the man he was at the end of TBBT.

I have been working on it over the years, since I don't want to live the rest of my life in fear. I started with puppies and small breeds, then went up to medium-sized breeds. I'm now fine with big dogs that are still on the smaller size. I still can't go near something like a great dane, or an Irish wolf hound or whatever. But I will never be able to go anywhere near a greyhound (the breed that attacked me) for the rest of my life.
I have been attacked by my pet dog regularly atleast once a year... after the attack, he doesn't come near me... then after 2 days he comes if I call. Then regular things ... 😅
Probably because he's a child growing up with baptist parents. The only escape for church as a Baptist kid is getting sick or injured lmao. Which is probably why he didn't go to church in the BBT.
I was riding my bike when someone's dog (Chihuahua) started chasing me and I had to outrun it by the time I got away I was going at least 25-30 miles an hour.
Just like Sheldon, I am afraid of dogs (middle-sized and big ones) ever since a German Shepherd attacked me on the street; and of any bird/avian larger than a pigeon with a sharp beak and talons since a peafowl attacked me in a country club. Both of these animal attacks happened in my childhood (dog, 5/6; peafowl, 8/9) and were my first encounters with the species. I have verbal autism (formerly known as Asperger) just like Sheldon Cooper.
