This is a good one to give to kids to see if they are interested in kit building. A little encouragement and another generation of kit builders grow, and so on. Keeps them away from those damn screens for a while, give them something to concentrate on, a sense of pride in their work. Amazing job dude for such a small scale.
Experiencing this now for the first time at 22 - has helped me completely reform habits and my mental health and gives me something to work for! :D Once I get an airbrush I'm excited to maybe give this kit a try, doing Grogu rn.
revell is making a 1/72 razor crest, it actually looks very detailed, probs wont be released till next year, as far as i know bandai arent planning on making a bigger one sadly
I was really annoyed at the comments saying it was "way too small", "smaller than expected" or "overpriced". The 1/72th version is more than twice the money, which is what you should expect given the amount of details in the design. Personally I love smaller scales and I'm happy to see a small version of this model! You can get the Revell if you want a bigger version. Just wish the support leg was transparent, but that's easily modified :)
Wonderful job it looks stunning, great paint job well done NOW how good would that ship look if it was as big as the reliant 1/480 or 1/537 scale ,with an interior and a working tail door/ramp.
You know that both AMT and Revell will release 1:72nd versions of the Razor Crest, right? The AMT one was revealed on Round2's channel and it will have working ramps, which one would assume means that it will have a visible interior.
I used mr Hobby white surfaces as my base and then shit it with Tamiya’s light gun metal. I really liked what you did for the stripes. I’m not to the weathering stage yet, I may use your technique there. I’ve not glued the major components yet so I can weather exactly how you did. It’s just too small to try to set the stickers or weather it otherwise.
There is a second version of this kit, that is silver plated. It's a bit more expensive than this standard version, but with that one, all you need to do is cut out the parts and apply the stickers :)
Thanks Steve, the stripes were really satisfying to see after the tape and Masking Sol NEO was removed :) I agree with you there, decals should have been included with this kit, I think Bandai missed a good opportunity there, but at least the kit is still really fun.
@@rebelsatcloudnine great little kit. All the seams disappear after assembly. I'm going to peel off the stickers and paint my stripes...I used Tamiya silver leaf for the ship.
@@rebelsatcloudnine your build inspired me to paint the stripes..that way I can use washes to dirty her up a bit. Thank you again for your excellent work!
@@rebelsatcloudnine - pressure sensitive markings (like Letraset) might have been an option and what I thought the supplied stickers were at first. There is just too much clear material to use the supplied markings. Also the window stickers just don’t adhere to the surface either.
In all the comments, no one thinks to mention the actual size? This thing is billed as 6in length. It in no way seems that big. Are they talking about the box?? I was looking at this to sub for the micro galaxy version but it might possibly be its baby! 😂
I believe it's got to be 1:144, or based on the height of the side doors 1:200 scale. I lean more towards 1:200 scale, but I'm surprised that Bandai never put the scale on the box, I mean they did it with the Super Stardestroyer.
@@watchthesky. Keep your eye out for 72nd scale versions of this ship from AMT and Revell. Essentially, we do not know what sort of licensing stipulations Bandai has, and it's possible that Disney gave permission for larger kits to the other two companies while Bandai bid on this smaller, box-scale kit to make.
No commentary? I'm disappointed (: Seriously though, another outstanding job. I bought this as soon as I saw it, and wasn't disappointed by the detail, but, was wondering how to achieve the paint peel for those stripes with spraying, so, thanks for the tutorial. When are Bandai going to give us both water slide decals and stickers, they do in some of their Space Battleship Yamato / Starblazers kits.

There's room enough in the hobby for both large and small versions. This is a good size for dioramas.
YES! Somebody gets it. Thank you!
That’s exactly what I was thinking!
This is the way ,outstanding work
Another excellent build! BANDAI should consider making the same kit in a bigger scale with a Mandalorian figure included.

@@filip8985 i think i'm getting the revell one. just need to make room for it it looks to be a big boy.
@@llmyth007 AMT is also releasing a big one.
The silver turned out great, as did the weathered stripes. Very nice.
Im going to steal the way you did the yellow. Lovely build and paint job
That sounds awesome, I'd like to do that again but with one at a bigger scale :)
A beatiful piece of art, i have spoken
Love your work. Take off Hoser!!!! Love Bob and Doug and Rush
Nice work. You have spoken.
Just bought this little kit, and your video has inspired me to get to work on it! Nice job!
Thanks Matt, I think you'll find this is a very fun little kit, I really enjoyed building it :)
Your piece looks great!! 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Dank farrik! That’s really great work!
Just got mine today. You're video was very inspiring. Thank you!
Love the chipped markings!
Sweet build!
Nice and now bring that ship in 1/72 scale Bandai!
Beautiful
Very nice

Awesome looking thing mate 😊👍
Looks fantastic!
Awesome
Did you seal the silver paint job with a clear coat before using the Tamiya panel liner?
Outstanding job on your model!!!
Thanks David, if I recall, I used Mr. Hobby Aqueous Semi-Gloss Clear. It's been a while but I'm pretty sure that's what I did.
Nice
Nice build. I'm considering the 1:72 Revell version. I've seen some nice builds of that kit.
Great job! Fine video! 👍✨

Question: do I need to glue it
Bandai models don't need glue, but for smaller parts it is recommended.
i think it'd be easier to use chipping fluid before the yellow to do the wear on the stripes rather than wasting masking sol.
Isn't this too tiny LOL I wish it was bigger. Bandai please make the N1 spacecraft with a decent size too :D
Was holding this at Target. Wanted to get it but I'm not a good painter

silver coating version? or normal version?

So…what scale IS that thing? Too small for 1/144…

So...they couldn't make it any smaller then?.
They just made the kit small to ensure that it'd ruin your day. Bandai just doesn't like you.

You literally didn't need cement for this build.
None.
And you literally don't have to paint it either, but I did that too.
The plastic looks awfl? Like Revell´s garbage they used to have, soft and weird..
I love bandai....but this is way too small.
The thing I didn't buy it that's tiny as f***
