Amen! Though I would argue that the performance of this beautiful song captured on the “Dwight LIVE (1995) CD eclipsed this one. Anderson’s guitar 🎸 magic on that tune and the entire live CD is impeccable. One of my favorite CDs of all time bar none.
When I lost my job years ago, after 32 years (plant closing). I listened to this song and cryed to and from work, the last few weeks. I felt "A Thousand miles from Nowhere". It still moves me. JEM
I am 34yo and have been a fan since I was a kid. He is one of very few singers that when I hear them sing no matter how bad of a day I might be having I immeadately slide into a btter mood. Yoakam Rocks !!!! LOL keep going and here is to hopefully many more great songs.
This man is a genius!!! He is the last great American Country musician to get any recognition. toby keith should be delivering pizzas to Dwight's house!!!
Keep dancing Dwight . You are such a delight to watch . What an great entertainer , you are, Great share , thanks . Hate they didn't get some good close up of all your moves. ~~Ava
Dwight always sounds great no matter what song he sings and this is one of his best - who will ever forget him riding on top of the train! I loved the old stuff, love the new - still miss Pete but Dwight does move on. A legend in his time. I have so much respect for this multitalented man. (I had the poster of Dwight in this jacket - so sexy -but it can get in the way of playing a guitar!) Thanks for the post.
My favorite DY song. There's something about the structure of the melody and backing guitars, that blends together so well. Dwight sings with great emotion. Love it.
I love Trains , i grew up with them , Growing up in Detroit, i would lay in bed at night and I would here them every night, I always wondered where are they going ? When I was 17 i went down to the Tracks and jumped on a Freight Train, heading South, I ended up in Atlanta Georgia, and got off, i did not know where i was yet, at the time i had john cash and merle haggard in mind, Years later this song came out, and i could totally relate to it, Thanks Dwight for the song, you brought back my Traveling Bone at an early age, A Great Song Man, Cousin Figel
His voice is real , he sounds the same live as his recorded music. Back in the 90's he was the reason that concho belts and bolero jackets were popular.
@@Mike-zv8rd sadly this will never happn. You can search the net for reasons for the breakup, but we'll likely never learn the real story. There are many Pete vids here on you tube with/without Dwight so we'll just have to enjoy those.
Wow oh how I love this song I can feel the journey! I love how you can talk to people heart!! Missing you play by the way congratulations on your new baby! Happiest new years!!
masively underappreciated artist,I've been to a bunch of his shows and he always brings it.Millions get him,.and yes he's famous and awesome,..but he just isn't getting the play and attention he already has earned. The great thing is hes Okay with it cuz hes just doing what he does,.and his music and fans is his own reward as he is comfortable with himself.
Oh come on now. Dwight's voice is like no other. He's still touring and singing and writing. Where is Pete? Never hear from him since split from Dwight. Dwight can sing anything, with anyone and without any instruments.
Just so happens Dwight came to Yuma here several months ago, and it was perhaps the most enjoyable concert venue I have ever attended. If your itching for a desert visit, head west to Arizona. Yuma has more sun than any other place in the U.S.A Today it was a mild 112 degrees, but you know what? The desert life is best for me. Yep, there's something about the old southwest you can't find anywhere else. Oww-whoo!
Don't quote me but I think it's a custom Cimarron guitar, Tele style, with a tremolo tail piece. Pete's style is what makes it come alive. Great guitars are a dime a dozen but it's the player that makes any guitar sing.
Love the instrumentation on this! Almost has a Petty-like vibe to it. Thinking my cover band will have to add a few more DY songs to our set list. Currently performing his version of Little Sister-- a nod to Elvis of course. But I'm digging a lot of his other tunes, too. Suggestions? Many thanks! 😎🎸
Happened to catch this singers version of what was already a great track for the first time by chance in a taxi ride home from a hospital ward. Not many artists many artists manage to cover a song so well with such awesome backing musicians as well but this guy nails it. Fantastic cover 🙂
Not trolling at all? If you read what I wrote then you would actually realise I'm not trolling,, 🤣 but hey ho go figure it for yourself I guess? Everyone else understood what I was saying??? Never mind maybe you could get someone to read it out to you? Especially all the big words? 🤣🤣🤣🤣

My mom and dad went to high school with his older brother and him at Northlands high school in columbus... they graduated when he was a freshmen but my dad knew his brother
One of the best country artists of all time. You can hear the pain in his voice. Amazing.
an absolute legend....totally underrated....better than anything in country music right now....
My favorite song what a great voice and great entertainment 🥰🥰🥰
this guy has more talent in his left pinky than everyone combined who is currently played on (so-called) country music radio
Facts! Every single "so called" new country star in the last 15 yrs absolutely sucks & what they play/sing simply isn't country music!
Still true 13 years later.
Pete one of the kind very unique best next to Toy
Hey now Midland rock!
He is awesome.
Pete;s guitar and Dwight's vocals are perfect for this song, a true classic.
This performance of this song has to be one of the greatest pieces of art of all time
Amen! Though I would argue that the performance of this beautiful song captured on the “Dwight LIVE (1995) CD eclipsed this one. Anderson’s guitar 🎸 magic on that tune and the entire live CD is impeccable. One of my favorite CDs of all time bar none.
My favorite Dwight song of ALL TIME!
I take this with me anytime I'm out driving in the country!!!
Dwight Live...is a Memory U will Savour...FOREVER...I still remember the First Time and Last Time...and long for the Next...He has it ALL.
Pete is an amazing guitar player. He really helped round out the sound. Didn't hurt to having him be the producer, as well.
I love to hear Dwight sing I’m also a big fan of great lead guitar playing
Yeah, Pete Anderson was excellent.
When I lost my job years ago, after 32 years (plant closing). I listened to this song and cryed to and from work, the last few weeks. I felt "A Thousand miles from Nowhere".

Those were truly the days! Pete is awesome on hat guitar, and in my humble opinion is irreplaceable!
My opinoin, Pete Anderson put Dwight on the map!

What happened to Pete
love his voice & his songs !!!!
I like your country woice you are aning amazing dwight the best country singer ewer
Great jacket, fantastic song sung by the one and only incredibly multi-talented superb Dwight Yoakam! Thanks for the post.
"This Time" was such a great, classic album. Dwight is so much more authentic than all this crap that passes for country music these days.
Marsha Rupe I agree. One if not my favorite C D of 💫DWIGHT ‘S💫🎶🎶🎶❤️
More authentic and original than the rest in its day. And keeps sounding more authentic and original the longer time goes on

Like Tom Petty said.."There is no Tom Petty sound without Mike Campbell"..same could be said of Dwight and Pete Anderson...such a unique tone.
Absolutely!!!
Well said. Some people don't realize the importance of a good sound man and for a little flash, a good lighting tech.
Normal avec la télécaster !

A song for the heart broken
Dwight 's the best, love him💕💕💕💕
That's an unbelievable solo!
AWESOME!! Dwight rules!! Pete Anderson rocks!!
I love this song dwight is very talented love you dwight
I found a $1 CD in a charity store. My introduction to Dwight. Gave him a go in the car. This is one of his good tunes. There's a few.
Red Toberts, check out other albums of his and you will see that everything he sings is good. I've been hooked on his music for 15 years or so.
Love to see a 2022 tour reuniting Dwight and Pete, never happn, but just imagine.
Pete has a video out discussing how no 1 can ever be "the original guy", now he's that guy!
I'd pay $1000 to see that.. HUGE Pete and Dwight fan...magic!

Geat song I remember listening to this when I was driving truck.
He's authentic as they come, stylish and at the same time surrounds himself with great personnel. Excellent video. Thanx a bunch!
GREAT VIDEO BY A NOW CLASSIC SINGER!
That is Pete Anderson, his guitar playing is why Dwight's songs sound so good
