UK Treasury refused to disclose key details of the GBP 22bln fiscal black hole that Chancellor Reeves claimed to have discovered, following a freedom of information request by the FT.
Wr also left last year for an island somewhat closer to the UK. We are so relieved to be somewhere where people leave their cars open, peopke are unfailingly kind, there is no meaningful politics, and woke is minimal. We took our business with us and thw local govt is supportive with minimal eegulation. We feel happy and safe and with 20% flat tax we can fly back to UK for a relative pittance to see what remains of our family, some of whom have also left for better options.
I'm 36, and I'll be honest, Winter Fuel Allowance not being means tested is and always has been absolutely stupid. I had no help with fuel prices at all in my twenties, nor did I expect it. I feel the cold just as much as someone older than me more so in most cases because I am not obese, and then there are people getting it who are retired with millions. What's the sense there?
