    It's interesting to see his development in Real Madrid with players like Modric and Kroos with him, and potentially Zidane as a coach. He's only 19, I see him changing drastically in Madrid tbh

      I hope he does, I think he could develop into a regista or camavinga develops into that. He has been growing exponentially by being my forced to play in cm, cdm and Lb position.
      I think the thing for these players is that they truly are very young and can be molded into anything. They just need the right coach.
      I doubt zidane is coming back any time soon. But I do think mourinho or Nagelsman could do that for them. Carlo too but Carlo takes a LONG time to implement changes. He likes to mold players lil by lil.
      Actually I do want to add that ceballos is def our best bet as a regista.
      Anyway camavinga will play on the left side or a double pivot, Bellingham on the right. Camavinga has been groomed to play with vini

    after seeing his brilliant back-header against Almeria and diving header goal against Celta Vigo--in his first three games for Real Madrid--it's hard to believe that heading is a weakness for Bellingham, as this analysis claims. otherwise, spot on

      If you watch the section closely, says there are goals to be had as as potential to be very good in the air inside the box - just outside the box needs a little attitude adjustment to show similar level of intensity.

    • @jamesnite2157
      @jamesnite2157 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I think it's based more on his aerial duels in the rest of the field. It's a slightly different skillset required for contesting those high looping balls in the middle of the field aiming to win back possession, compared to a flatter cross that you're trying to redirect with power in the box. One you are more static, the other more dynamic.
      Bellingham's physical stature is very interesting - he's not particularly muscular and he's quite lanky but still athletic. The strength of his physique translates better when he's moving, but when stood still (say standing under a ball to contest an aerial duel) he's relatively easy to move off the ball. When running to challenge a header, that movement and athleticism generates more strength and his height comes into play more.

  • @jamesnite2157
    @jamesnite2157 ปีที่แล้ว +154

    Great video. One of Jude's most powerful abilities is his tackling in the middle and final 3rd of the pitch. He completely creates an attack out of nowhere with an intelligent tackle and robbing a midfielder or defender. He's very aggressive and times these tackles well (although wonder how well this will translate to card-happy La Liga where refs reward dispossessed players easily).
    Of the 5 players you're comparing him to (p90 stats for 22/23 season):
    - He's only behind KdB for tackles in final 3rd (KdB: 0.48; Jude: 0.47)
    - He's WAY ahead of the rest for mid 3rd tackles (Jude: 1.14; Barella: 0.90; Goretzka: 0.83; Xhaka: 0.54; KdB: 0.45; Valverde: 0.4)
    - He's tackled more players than any of the others, yet still has the highest tackling %.. by 10%!! (tackle success % - Jude: 66.7%; Goretzka: 56.3%; Barella: 52.8%; Valverde: 50%; Xhaka: 39%; KdB: 35.9%). That is ridiculously high for his position and player profile.
    - He's also second on the list for blocking passes, behind Goretzka.
    So he's not only good at carrying the ball and creating chances, but at switching possession back to his team in dangerous areas and breaking down opponent's play.

    Appreciate the detailed analysis. One thing to note as a Madrid fan is that, while he's still developing and we can never be sure what kind of a player he might develop into, his playstyle right now fits perfectly to Real Madrid. Quick transitions, making plays from the deep with long balls and through balls works really well with out pacy wingers in Vini, Rodrygo and even Fede when he plays as a wide midfielder, not to mention our wingbacks Fran Garcia and Dani (when he's in form, which is a big ask these days).
    Jude can get into the team right now and be impactful with his skillsets as he is, provided we have either Modric or camavinga to act as the creative ball holding player. I'm excited to see what he can do.

    His runs into the box will be so important for this Madrid squad. There is noone else at the club that does it and it left oposition box empty and attack predictable (especialy with benz drifting to the wing or midfield as well). This is the main underrated aspect of the signing imo, he offers way more end product than any other midfielder in the squad.

    Good analysis on its own, but kind of a joke when you compare it to your analysis on Pedri. If he has a C+ in heading and a B+ in shooting, Bellingham should have higher and it's not even a question. Go check out this season's numbers, both in la liga. Same goes for defence, definitely much better than Pedri there, yet he gets the same lol. Pedri does have a bit better vision, so sure he should have a bit more in creativity. That said, he is not better at dribbling, I'd say equal, just different styles. Pedri is great with his feet, but so is Bellingham and he makes a much better use of his body. I'd even argue that Bellingham is more efficient because of his verticality and mindset. Idk, looks biased.

    With the current midfield setup at Madrid, Bellingham may fit in as the left sided free roaming box to box midfielder of a midfield four ( 4-4-2 daimond or 4-2-2-2).He has good physicality, excellent ball carrying/progression, good creativity in the half space channels, and a goal threat. However the problem with this is that it limits the threats on the wings from vini and Rodrigo as this would mean them being pushed in as inside forwards to run the half space channels which I am not really sure they are adept at.

    Great Analysis, mate. I liked how you presented it quite simplistically.
    My Opinion on RMA -
    There will no more marquee midfield signings since we already have 4 bright talents who will hold the keys to our future( Fede, Cama, Tchouameni and now Bellingham).
    About the control aspect, Tchouameni has shown the signs of being a good controller in the midfield although the sample size is very small
    What you said about Bellingham not being a replacement of Kroos/Modric is right. At present it seems he will be suited the role of an advanced 8
    But when you take a look at Fede - Cama - Bellingham what you realize is as a unit all of them has a 2-way (Offence/Defence) midfield presence. So as the time passes the roles will be more clearer and I have a feeling that 1 among them will act as a floating midfielder in the future.

    This might be weird but is there a way you can bundle a few transfer targets for teams, of liverpool for example, and compare what they would bring. Similar to how tifo football do their sensible transfers. I think this could be good and easier to give some detail on players in general and then more in depth individually since i want you to speak about most of the targets with you good analysis

I think to rate him lower than players who affect the team’s possession more is wrong. We have seen no.6’s look amazing with players around them (Jorginho). Don't get me wrong, Lampard and Gerrard were great technical goal scoring midfielders but they were more direct old school English style players.
