Pancakes in the morning and fresh fish in the evening… in between a large bowl of tranquility. That’s a good day. Love those aerials really captures the beauty and remoteness.
When I was a boy of 12 or so my first solo experience paddling was on the Greenbrier. I had 2 uncles who jointly owned a cabin (built from RR ties as was common in the day) near Alderson and my family would get to use it for week long summer vacation trips. The boat was a 12 aluminum john boat. Little did I know that childhood experience would lead to one day taking up canoeing, then kayaking and the joy of running CL 4 and 5 whitewater for 40 years plus. Thank you for showing me so much of the Greenbrier I've never seen even though my first multi day trip was on that river in 1978 from Ronceverte to Talcott. Stunning photography, excellent and timely musical content, great editing and a fantastic river with good paddling buds. You've got it all goin on man.
@@RiverKingsKayak I don't know if it was phenomenal but trips to WV were definitely the highlights of it. I worked a 42 year career in railroading for the privilege of retiring here and that's where I've been since 2016.
Tank you for including me in the video. So great seeing you out there. Originally I planned a 3 days, 2 nights trip. I actually finished it that day. I couldn't find any camping spot. Paddled something like 45 KM that day. Great video as always.
Great video, I’m only into about 15 minutes on day two and as a resident I have to say that what you did in day one and this far exceeds ANYTHING that the WV Tourism has ever produced. Many thanks for such a great promotion of this great area. BTW, not only does this area have great kayaking, there is hiking, cycle trails all along the river with a variety of camping experiences. I’ve been a fan since your 2016 trip and all of your work is first class; content, editing and music are some of the best!!! ❤❤❤
This is just outstanding scenery. I’m from Ontario and I thought Northern Ontario was beautiful but this is just magnificent. I have travelled through the states in a car and have always enjoyed going through the mountains but will add this to my bucket list. Such a great group of friends and good times.😘
You guys do such an amazing job with these trips. Content is always on point. Thanks for putting in the effort to make these videos so well, it is appreciated!
I think this is one of your best videos. Amazing scenery nice edit. I have a video you have to see. My brother and I. He did the famous back paddle and I ended up hitting him, but saved him from hitting a big round rock lol! I will have to tag you when I get the video up! We were in pelicans kayaks my 10ft against his 12ft on a class 1- 2 rapid? Lol cheers!
As an avid drone pilot, I think the aerials add so much to filming any adventure The gimbal is where the magic happens. Keep a running list of favorite moves, work on gentle turns to follow river and landforms. The best moves are 3-input actions. Gimbal tilt-down should be led by an increase in elevation and vice-versa, maintaining axial relationship with the visual point of rotation. POIs and Spotlight are enhanced with forward/backward and elevation change. Who’s flying anyway? Nice work.
Yes, above any other river we have traveled, this one scares me the most in planning. it is either in or out and that change happens so fast! hard to catch it just right!
Yes the WVDNR did play around with the Tiger Muskie ( a cross between the true Muskie and the Northern Pike). I don't think it was very successful, they're a sterile hybrid. We also have the Tiger Trout ( a cross between the Brown Trout and the Brook Trout).
Hi Pete, I owe you apology as I confess to you a big” I am sorry “ I have watched you and the boys on TH-cam for a long time now without subscribing. And being a little slow to the party I recognized how much effort you put into your channel. And so, I am subscribing to the channel now. I very much enjoy your camping trips. With out going into a rant thanks Pete for your hard work and dedication to your channel and your honesty. Thanks Bob.
Wasn't it Austin that bought Goldie? Goldie is the yellow Y.E. that had been underneath somebody's deck and had gotten stain dripped on it? I believe he said in a video that his wife liked the name Marigold so he was gonna name it Marigold and call her Goldie. He's paddling a red boat. Does he have more than one Y.E. Kayak?
Hey Red Flame! His favorite color is red. He saw a chance to pick up a second Yukon in his favorite color and never looked back. He still has Marigold as well.
Thanks rk p1! We we're on a trip at the dame time last year, cant believe I didn't see you. Must have been a few days behind. We did cass to Caldwell and the water level chased us down on the last few days.
That is the whole battle flushot! I started going on solo trips as I couldn't find anyone to go. Seems as I kept doing trips, others became interested...and all the original riverkings were just friends that agreed to go with me on one...none were kayakers! LOL. Well, they are now! LOL

Thank you Daryl! I appreciate it!
nice work with the drone. Looks like such a great river, clean water, bluffs, if only it was a little closer to home...
Sometimes you have to travel to get to them...and that is sometimes half the fun!
@@RiverKingsKayak for sure!
@@RiverKingsKayak i have a small series on my channel if you wanted to see it, the root river that is

Thanks Francis! That is Austin's handywork!
Winner winner chicken dinner!! 👊😎👍

If you ever have the chance you should definitely give the buffalo national river in Arkansas a go.
It is definitely on the list Mike!
Awesome stuff! Just a little bit jealous. ;-)
Thanks HB!
Great vid as always! Looks like such an amazing and beautiful trip
Thanks K!
You were fortunate with the water levels. It was low this past weekend

Fantastic video and trip. Thank you so much for putting this together. What do you bring for emergency supplies?
Thanks! This should cover it... th-cam.com/video/W-LmvPB9hno/w-d-xo.html

Crazy!
Another great trip log! What time of year was this paddle and is there a better time you might recommend? Thanks Pete
Thanks Bert! Middle of May. That is historically the best bet to have good water.
Hey Pete, have a question for you. Have you ever had to do any repairs on your Prijon hull as some of those rivers are shallow. Bob
Have never done a thing other than spray the mud off from time to time.
Thanks
