My Uncle has three of these in his barn , he loved them but sadly hasnt been able to drive for a few years , one only has 1800 miles , he ran a Peugeot Talbot garage that closed in the mid 80`s , he also has a Puegeot 604 which is basically the same car !
That’s really very cool and interesting 🤔 no one knows there are cars like that still in existence. I think they need to be shown to the masses because it is a great history 👍😊
At that time this was the most luxury and modern French car. I think most Tagoras were sold in France and Spain. For many people the Tagora was a Simca and Simca had a bad name for sustainability. WIthin the first year it started to rot. Most new Tagoras were sold at very low prices in the end. It's still one of my favorite classic French limousines.
The 1980 Volvo 264, of which shared this same engine, was available with a 3-speed automatic transmission. The probable reason for Talbot to not offer it was that the carbureted Talbot was underpowered, compared with the fuel-injected Volvo
Never seen a Tagora. I can just remember about the Solara, Samba and the Horizon. 166 horse powers on this Tagora are sounding very nice - keeping in mind the cars back in this time were way lighter than nowadays. Interesting to also hear the numbers of the car. So this explains why I haven't seen one before. And nowadays this is even much more rare. Too less advertising is always a problem even nowadays. I can remember when people were talking to me when I owned the modern Fiat 124 Spider. So many people told me they didn't know that Fiat was producing this good looking car. So this car was also discontinued too soon although it is definately one of the best looking roadsters from nowadays.
My dad had the SX, 0-60 in 7.9 was rapid for the day, the same as the Capri 2.8i.The Capri had 160bhp as opposed to the Tagoras 163 bhp (166ps). Remember the economy though 17mpg eek!!! Still remember the reg A427GVC A rarity on cars of this era, twin triple choke carbs , hence the MPG
Hi, I remembered where I heard that it was from the 'Patrick Collection', it was on the furious driving channel although he didn't 'name' the collection, I knew there was a Tagora in it from a chat with the curator at the Coventry motor museum, around 1994.
congratulations for the video my friend 👏 , it was amazing, thanks for sharing super like 👍 and a big hug for you 😍 I leave my subscription to the channel 👍 to strengthen more 💯
It failed because it was simply horrendous - looked cheap and nasty - and appeared like a stretched Alpine. At school we laughed at how stupid people could be thinking anyone with "money" would buy such nonsense. Why would i go to a Talbot garage - surrounded by a Sunbeam or Avenger - when it was priced in merc / volvo / bmw territory?

The swan song of Simca!
Sound nice. Thank you 😊
Lovely car, but got undeniably outplayed by the Audi 100, which looked very similar, but had already gained an impeccable reputation.
Cool car 🚗 😎
Thank you 😊
I like it , everything especially color, but it would have been best as a 2 door. As a 2door it would have been a cool rally car🙏✝️☮️
Thank you 😊
how you can see is INCORRECT: you must say AS you can see, the Tagora....etc...
Thank you 😊 appreciate your comment 👍
