Fun fact: The game is Sonic 4, the dark blue chaos emerald is the fourth and also Sonic's color is dark blue

I usually have to watch these twice because the first time is ususally spent looking at the background

This is the only S4 E2 episode I remember in my childhood
I remember the first time I played this Zone/Act when I heard the Twinkle Park Zone remix... I was so surprised ! =) And yes, I think this game is totally alright. Thanks for the videos, Cyberman65.

Such a shame the sound effects are way too loud in these games. I remember that being a problem even on the early 90's on big Tube TV's of the time, the loudspeakers on these TV's were amazing (we were really spoiled huh) and the speakers filtered some of the Treble out, but even then the SFX were overbearing at times
Sega is a third party company now. If Nintendo owned Sega, Sonic wouldn't be on all systems.

White Park Zone is a theme park, though. White Acropolis is a mountain base with a fortress in the center.
if only the elemental shields were implemented, the Lightning Shield would have made the boss alot easier. The zone itself looks somewhat Christmas like though.

Act 2's level design is peak Dimps.
I love this zone but it’s strange that an amusement park is built on top of a snow covered mountain. There is no way in hell I’d ride a rollercoaster in those freezing temperatures.
Christmas came in 2012 with the release of Sonic 4 Episode 2, but it looks like all Sonic fans got was coal.

not the only simularitys they even poked fun at it in first boss. & listen hard to the tracks the sometime take almost whole segment chaning like 1 note. first level was so blatant i got whiplash

White Park Level I Like This Song
The level designs of the platformer stages are unique. However, the special stages of Sonic the Hedgehog 4 Episode II is similar to Sonic the Hedgehog 2.
Actually I think Tails, and Knuckles, and maybe Shadow characters from the Sega console era does have and can have more of their own video games. There is Knuckles Chaotix for the Sega 32X, Tails Adventure and Tails' Skypatrol for the Sega Game Gear. I think these characters are popular and different enough to have their own video games. Shadow the Hedgehog might also work, but the Shadow the Hedgehog video game (2005) might convince Sega not to make another Shadow the Hedgehog video game.

Dude, it's crazy... I flatout skipped entire generations of consoles after the Playstation 2. At the time (early 2000's) I didn't even know full 3D Sonic Adventure games existed yet (for whatever reason seems to me like the press did not publicize them a whole lot??) My impression from all these Sonic games out there is that they seemed to be WAY AHEAD OF THEIR TIME, most of them.
With the recent "livestreaming" retro gaming phenomena I have the impression Sonic games were already exploring that "streamer" share of the market way back then, as seen by this game from 2012 or even before with Sonic 06 (that game has INSANE amounts of content, are you kidding me?? and I never heard of its existence?? WTF??)
Okay, I will admit that the Shadow Hedgehog game for PS2 is pretty bad (mostly due to controls) But the other Sonic games out there, 2D or 3D, seem pretty fucking good to me.
Either there was bad press/publicizing or there was an "anti-sonic" movement on the gaming media, I find it really strange how these games are kept a secret of sorts.

And I say all that as someone who grew up playing the Genesis Sonic games and loved them

if white acroplis from Sonic 06 was a stage in generations, white park zone would be the classic version of the stage. however this stage could work for sonic generations 2

A nice update on a very old and dated retro game. Unfortunately I never liked Sonic even when it first game out, I found the gameplay far too frustrating, although I know some people did and will love this.
