      @@nanaSinfo never worked for any of the London bus operators personally, I live down in Kent so it'd be too far. Personally I think I'd prefer the NX work due to the longer distance, less stops and all but the downside is having to deal with a lot of luggage and fake tickets etc.. Days can be ridiculously long too. (17 hour dual manned shifts and all)

    • @sjoerdvanoudenaren6020
      @sjoerdvanoudenaren6020 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@nanaSinfo on the topic of wages, I get 11.90 an hour and am contracted 39 hours a week. Often end up doing 45ish hours instead. And currently furloughed of course.. Spend over 6 months of this year furloughed (with a a break for some actual work in the middle..)
      What are the wages in london like? Of course the 11.90 does further in kent then it would closer to London.

      London bus drivers have it way easier in London all you need to worry about is driving, we have to drive and sort out cash and everything else plus we have all ex London buses so getting up to 50mhp scares them as they normally do only 30mhp lol . Hi Nana, if a horn is insecure with the likelihood of it detaching being imminent then that's an immediate PG9 prohibition. If the horn doesn't work then that's a delayed PG9 prohibition :)

    I have a few questions to ask. When you joined Go Ahead, did you get to choose what garage you went to? Depending where you live? And, when you joined, did you get to choose a route to drive or was it given based on your knowledge. My cousin is a bus driver with Metroline and drives the H98 he said that you cant choose the route and it is randomly assigned. Wondering if it is any different with GA.

    • @nanaSinfo
      @nanaSinfo  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They will assign you to a garage but you can choose the garage you want but make sure it's before you leave the training school. And for routes, you will be on spare but you can choose a route you want. Depending on the route, there is a waiting list, that's when we don't know when your turn is

    • @nanaSinfo

      the fastest way is to go straight to the engineers to let them aware of the issues and the normal way is to log whatever issues the bus as into a device we use to check the buses, these issues will be updated to the engineers via messages and the engineers in real time can come to your bus and fix the issues.

    • @nanaSinfo
      @nanaSinfo  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      In most cases on average it takes about 2 months to become a London bus driver. It's not hard but patience and some driving experience will help you breeze through the training. You only need to have a 1 year old driving licence with less than 6 points (that's here in the UK). My advice will be for you to get a bus licence over the Netherlands before you come so application will be easier but if you can't get a bus licence over there for cost reasons, don't worry the bus companies will get your licence but you pay them back within a year in service.

    Good lord, such a long way to drive to get to the start in bexleyheath. When he gets there, the driver must already be exhausted before he even starts his route. Cant they allocate the route to a nearby garage where drivers of such route don’t necessarily drive 9 plus miles to start! Makes no sense!

    • @nanaSinfo
      @nanaSinfo  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Well, it depends on certain factors. Garage space, available buses, engineers availability and so on. Trafalgar Square is closest to New Cross and Erith is closest to Bexleyhealth, technically all buses must come to Central London so New Cross is a better option because it's closer. They did say something about sending duties that finishes at Bexleyhealth or Erith to Bexleyhealth bus garage and those the finish at Trafalgar Square to New Cross garage, that makes alot of sense but nothing so far based on any update. One thing is for sure, make sure you get enough rest before you come in because it can be very challenging.
