Been watching you since I started fishing in summer last year it’s helped me stay out of trouble and involving my self in the wrong groups of people. I Appreciate your knowledge and work. Keep at it tight lines 👍
Deffo keep away from the wrong type of people. They will slowly draw you down to their level as that is the easiest route for them. Its harder doing the right thing and takes some extra willpower, but it sounds like you just might have it...well done for seeing the right road..might be uphill, but will be worth it for the view. The wrong groups won't even be high enough to ever see the views...Good luck.
Great attitude buddy keep it up, I had a very simular situation 10 years ago and I chose fishing, best decision I ever made tight lines buddy and TA fishing is totally awesome I still learn from Graham now 😀 👍 🎣🎣🎣
I went down the river lunchtime for a couple hours Pike fishing, its game over for me on the rivers and most of it is in the fields I diidn't even fish...have to wait until next year,as I don't like wasting my time, especially in the cold.
Ha ha 😂. Over here in Canada we wait till, the ice is 4 to 5 inches thick. Then go ice fishing 🎣 it awesome, I grow up in England. Have been over here in Canada for 27 years now, it's Amazing. Salmon , trout, Sturgeon, Musky, Pike, walleye, Perch, Carp. Most of all WILD NATURE for miles , sher bliss 😊.
What a moment. I have never seen a boat going past as a fisherthem has just caught a fish. Quite incredible stuff and one in a life time moments. absolute what dreams are made off
Aye Graham, definitely Wolverine Tracks them! :) I believe there are a few SpiderAnt BeeDragons being spotted down your way this spring, keep your eye out for them... :)
Well done Graham, keep at it. I have been fishing to day in a still water where I always get something. Today, complete blank, not a touch. That's fishing for you.
I am soo ready for spring! Here in New England its 50degrees today, and they're forcasting 1-2feet of snow on Tuesday!! Soon my friend, we will be warm again!
I hope so,its been a long winter with miserable conditions, loads of cloud cover and now rain/snow forecast. I'm told by Mike to try Vitamin D as we are all lacking that with so little sunshine. All I know is I'm piling through the stock of wood in my logburner, and just ordered another whack of heating oil. I don't usually order until mid April ,but this year the heater seems to be drinking it.
Be careful with those early season green leaves. That first one you showed was Lords and Ladies and is very poisonous! The young leaves can be confused with wild garlic, but easier to tell apart when they mature. I also have some of those wellies, they really do work! Thanks again for another entertaining film.
Love the fishing content, but also enjoying the garden/tackle shack part of the videos as well. I've been watching repeats of "The Yukon Mem" it amazes me that they can start a fire with a bit of bark & twigs in extreme sub zero temperatures & I can't get a garden fire going with dry wood & cardboard...roll on the summer.
A warm Spring would make such a difference for everyone, including the fish and wildlife but seems we are stuck in a rut of cold, cloudy weather at present.
I tried them down the river today, way warmer than before .I saw some in a shop with a "name" on them...£140 ??? Are they having as Giraffe ?? My car isn't even worth that. I'm happy with the Aldi supermarket cheap ones .
@@TAFishing really? We'll they look like they cost more than they did just not sure is the top part water proof like normal wellie boots? Can you stand in water do ya knw? Thanks for the reply just watching a TA at the moment 😁👍
The Aldi insulated bib and brace are also worth a look. They’re insulated and waterproof, just added some zip puller cord to the zips to make things easier when nature calls. Not in stock at the minute though.
I admire you getting outside and fishing in the cold like that. I'm the same age as you and just couldn't do it. I hate getting cold and hands going numb (bad circulation). Can't wait for the weather to change. I have fishing withdrawal symptoms. I did catch some lovely fish recently on my Cape Town holiday. Should have stayed longer!
Nice perch session! I’m struggling catching perch at the moment, got my own compost heap full of worms that I use regularly.. I’ll keep plodding on, I wouldn’t want it too easy 😁👍
I hear you say good for two pair of socks for the boots. For me, I suffer with constant cold feet, but I found that with boot liners like Neoprene or even foam, wearing no socks keeps your feet a lot warmer. Just a thought for some!
Much Respect Graeme for fishing in those conditions. Due to my blood thinning pills it will be the end of April at least before I'm on the Bank again so the Angling Withdrawal Symptoms are now severe. You fish your Antenna Float very high in the water, I would have shotted it down to show only ½ inch.
Years ago I watched another angler who fished a striped antennae float high. He worked out the subtlest lifts of canal roach and was very successful at it.
@@borderlands6606 If it worked for him, that's good. With the clear water and shy winter bites I'd have been tempted to use a small quill. The problem is that being an old fart I might have needed a Telescope to see it!🤣👍
Nice one Graeme, well done for braving the elements. The expander pellets are not worth the effort imo, and they expect you to buy a pump to prepare them. The standard pellets are good enough, just add water and away you go.
Yet another great video Graeme, love the new wellies!. I do'nt if you've ever tried this one i used put thick poly bags on my feet before i put my wellies on i've sat in a shooting hide in thick snow and my feet stayed nice and warm give it a try it does work. Renew the bags regular they get a bit wiffy otherwise!!.
Bought some the same boots myself last week Graeme, they come up a bit big so plenty room for the extra sock or two. Bargain at £24.95. I gave the plastic bag inserts to the grandchildren to jump on. I'm shocked that you didn't rescue some useful nails from those that you picked up. Great video as usual thanks very much Graeme.
You're OK if you are a size 10 with the aldi wellies Their free mags tell you what date that certain things will be available in store from, and so I will be there for opening time on that day to grab what I'd like Great videos by the way
Hi Graham, Watching you doing your gloves, reminded me of the old trick of using dubbin, or as I still do, using Petroleum jelly on all my leather items as it keeps them soft/supple and also waterproof to. Does any body else do that I wonder.
You got in one Mr Pullen...They keep your calfs lovely and warm, and it extends down to your feet...They even do long Wollen Fishing socks for those colder day's. Have you leak tested them yet? Going Sunday on the trent...hopefully to get a chub or two...
Woollen fishing socks in the supermarket as well ? I never saw those, now I have to go back,if the wife comes to check what I am up to it might cost me an extra 50 squid !!...(I think I'll tell her I'm just going for fuel fillup). Good luck with the Chub fishing.I never even got on the river today,it was in the fields.
I had my last river day this season today. Cold rain, snow, sleet and windy and didn't catch anything. I was using worm just like you did. as well as cheese. But not a sign of perch or chub.
Its tough out there.I'm done on the rivers as well. Its flooded and with snowmelt water and the road runoff of salt..kiss of death for the fishing. Could sit there all day for a Chub or Barbel but I couldn't be bothered. Look forward to next season and some warmer weather.
I make my own peat compost.. by combining my rabbit hutch waste now matured in my huge heap "redworm maga farm" and mix it with my potting soil and ash, for a super grow soil mix that also restsins water and gives a tree saplings roots a good stiff holding to spread into.. and if its a acid loven plant i mix coffee grounds in as well. For a super good looking plant, flowers and tree saplings.. similer mix makes for my worm farms too just minus the ash as worms armt such fans of it until it breaks down.
I sell Grubs Neoprene wellies from my Country Store in Harrogate, they look very similar to your Aldi boots. The neoprene should go right to the toe, so no need for two pairs of socks. They are incredibly warm (and cheaper than ours at £95!!) Rob
