To everyone that’s saying this is south Cotabato and not Gensan. Yes, you’re correct, I’m showing a LOT of South Cotabato here. There was no misunderstanding though. I stand by my original declaration: Gensan is my favorite city. I know these places are distinctly different... but what I’m trying to show is all these great things to do that surround Gensan. They’re most easily accessed from Gensan. They’re an easy day trip away from Gensan. Every city is pretty much the same. There’s buildings and restaurants and people. But to me, and to many others out there, what defines a city can also be what surrounds it-even if it’s an hour away. Austin Texas is one of my favorite cities in the world, and it is because of all the great activities to do outside of it-anywhere from one hour to one hour and a half away. I group all these things in to Gensan in the same way I group Austin Texas into the activities that surround it. Within reason. Just wanted to clear that up. 😊
Oh well not in sox tom people there might react in this because you are saying that some of this area is in gensan you can say it near gensan not gensan only...you see how many people react to this because this is not right.

I'm saying that I love Gensan because of how easy it is to get to these great places. :) The deeper meaning of this video is that I love gensan because it's the first city I visited in the Philippines. :) It has less to do with Lake Sebu and the ziplines etc. etc. and more to do with sentimental value. I remember the time when Martial Law was in effect on Mindanao, almost everyone here at GenSan are having a good time with the military being present in the city. A 180° on how the people in Manila view the effects of Martial Law. We Generals are generally chill and enjoys life as much a possible. I'm glad you had a good time in our City.

My first trip to Gensan was in December and even the Filipinos I met at the airport seemed disgusted when even mentioning General Santos City. Actually, made me nervous to visit. After spending a week there, I fell in love and is truly my favorite part of the Philippines if not the small amount of the world I have had the opportunity to experience. Maybe it is due to me growing up in the countryside of California, but the vibe of the people, food, and scenery was absolutely surreal.
