the inkless printer is what is known as a thermo printer and it is also how they print receipts. there are a couple of ways they can work but often they use special paper that changes color when heated. the keyboard thing probably works ok but it is hard to detect where something is with as much accuracy that the device would need so it is probably very buggy. again there is a lot of ways it can work so I won't speculate.

Don't know what that one is, but portable laser printers exist. I didn't need portable, but I wanted a tiny footprint and didn't want expensive paper or ink. Mine works great and fits in a drawer. I could see using it when buying a car or house to print a document you didn't know you'd need. Or when interacting with government or healthcare that is stuck in the stone age.

@@ur_quainmaster7901 if your printer uses ink or toner, it's ok. But the printer shown is a thermoprinter. It needs special thermopaper and a print made with it is not document-safe: its illegal to submit official forms from it as the print decays over time

2 things, for the plant waterer...er, some people will say that introducing some air into the water before it goes into the soil is a good thing; that's why you see some of the hose options on the multi head hoses outside (a little like you airate wine, but ... not really?) The hair in the shower one, people would rather clean hair off the wall then out of their drain, if you're not cloging your drain with your hair then you're fine you're not doing it wrong. Unless you're on septic, then wall hair is better because you want as little going into the septic as possible.

The pouring from a teapot or measuring cups only pours on one spot, and plant roots are around the plant pot, so you only pour from the one spot and not properly moisturize the dirt, I believe.

@@Alx56 Well, not my wife. My wife tends to pour on one spot with measuring cup, but luckily, they're small plants, so it didn't matter much. I also think the gardening jugs do pour the best amount of water than just pouring from cups, and they tend to watering the leaves too, so they washed away the dust. Spray bottles are also great for big leaf plants, for removing dust.

  • @dastamararoseyork
    @dastamararoseyork ปีที่แล้ว

the reason the watering method matters to plants is so u dont disturb the roots. a single pouring jug will move dirt out of the way leaving a small hole deeper into the dirt and can expose the roots to sunlight or light in general which will kill that section of the roots if the dirt is not replaced back over said roots. basically watering with a jug with a single pouring spout can possibly damage/harm and even make the plant die if not careful while if u spread the water out over a larger area it wont move the dirt as much saving ur plant in the process possibly. im not really a gardner personally but thanks to my mom who is one ive learned quite a bit about plant health to the point i can tell what nutrients a plant needs if its showing signs of nutrient deficiency. tho thats a bit more in depth. the type of water u use also matters as in the PH of the water. if the water ph isnt correct for some plants then they will outright die because of nutrient lockout. a teapot will work just fine also u just need to make sure the dirt doesnt get displaced and start showing roots is all. its a bit more work is all that the other watering thing save u from doing. hope this helps in some way. also no its not good to let hair go down the drain as it can clog it up over time. learned that the hard way myself.

The plant watering thing depends on the plants, as far as I know from my mother's plant watering regime.
Only use finger temp water, your dry finger put into the water should only feel wet, not hot or cold when in the water.
Robust plants can easily take the water from the teapot, measuring cups or watering jug.
The more delicate plants could require water either from similar means or have a pot with holes in it and a dish below where water is fed to the plant.
    Why?
Because sudden changes or standing water can damage or make the roots system rot.
An automatic system with sweating hoses is a good alternative for those plants when going away.
Orchids with air roots should be treated differently from the rest, usually with an minimum hour long soak in water.
Fill the pot to the brim, let it sit for over an hour and carefully drain the pot without loosing the wood bark chips they have in the pot.
Some specialist plants would do better with misted water, but you won't find those in a usual home.
All in all, you're trying to replicate their native environment in your home, that's why all the different ways.

    It uses Thermo-reactive paper.
Basically, it works by heating the spots on the paper that it "printing" on. The paper is made to turn dark when heated,
Only problem with these types of printer is that the print tends to fade after some time.
Some start fading very fast, like in a couple of days, other may last for half a year or more.
This is why you should always either copy, or photograph, a reciept that doubles as proof of warranty, because the reciept will have faded long before the warranty is out.

Soil compression is the only thing I can think of its against but the tool does not look like it makes the water smaller so maybe not, the best thing would be to have water thinly spread out as you water so not to compress the soil. Compressed soil will choke the roots and you would have to repot them often, some species has a very hard time with it while others can handle it for a time. Just check the plant and the soil its very hard it might be time for a repot otherwise you are all good. If you do want to change something a small watering can with the small holes should do fine unless you have some very specialised plants

ok so i grew up on an apple orchard in Victoria and i'm going to tell you at you don't need the silly shower head device. just pour your water slowly around the base of your plants and you'll be fine if you have outside plants or ones near a heat source then water them AT LEAST half an hour after the sun has gone down at the end of the day or beforree it comes up at the start of the day. the sun (or other heat sources) evaporates a lot of the water off the top layers of soil or leaves and whatnot before the roots have a chance to absorb it.
i hope that helps with your home plant care (personally i hate gardening in all forms but 17 years of living on an orchard means you learn stuff)

To the garden topic: it doesn't make it better. If you fill it up and walk to the plant, you drip around the house. If your finger slips a bit, you drip around the house. Also, it's too big you need big pods and plants that grow high enough, so you can fit this thing under the plant or, you guessed it, drip around the house.
One benefit is that the water is spread out. If you use a glass, you have one heavy stream that will, over time, wash the soil away.

The airpods one made me laugh. Someone already invented that, its called normal wired headphones and they cost like 10 bucks. Even the apple ones.
Never understood why people spend so much money on airpods which are literally less convenient in almost every-way. Like, they are so easy to loose, if you loose one you have to buy a whole new pair, you have to recharge them all the time, and they cost as much as a proper fancy gaming headset that has 3d surround sound, 7.1, etc etc.
The wired ones are exactly the same as airpods, but they have a wire. 100-200 bucks for a gaming headset, 140-270 bucks for airpods lmao

With the plant watering thing like, I guess its more spread out water pouring so it has more of the soil surface wet, there are certain plants where that would matter (Like I have a cactus that would grow more toward the area you wet most so if you want it to grow straight you have to water it fairly evenly etc) but for the most part lets be real the teapot is fine, as long as you're watering your plants it's fine.

I think the thing about the teapot for watering plants might be of connection (maybe) about the benefits of putting tea (leaves) in plant soil. When you incorporate tea leaves into your garden soil, they release nitrogen naturally which helps balance out any carbon-rich materials that may already be present. Reusing tea leaves also helps you improve drainage and adds to soil structure.

I'm a bioengineer, especiallized in wastewater treatment.
The reason why hair should not go in the drain it's because, once the wastewater arrives to the treatment station, the hair (wich can be tons in some cities) starts to gather into condensed layers that literally breaks the metals (especially iron) of the infrastructures...

    The keyboard one...
Did you not have smart boards in school in the final years before you left? These work basically the same way: project an image onto a surface, and embedded sensors which have been calibrated to detect movement in a certain area know precisely where you're putting your finger, or say, a stick which looks and feels like a pen, but isn't a pen. The only difference is that the sensors here are embedded into the projector, rather than the surface itself.
Schools all across the UK started getting these ca. 2002-2003. Shit this makes me feel old, knowing that they've been around 20 years, and that 20 years ago I was in High School lol

the container you are using for watering your plants doesent really matter, sure there are some plants where its better if you water them in-directly or with a sprayer because they need that kinda humid vibe, but "normal" plants dont care what you use, as long as its water.
(but i would use something with a relatively small nozzle or a siv or something, dont dump it on the plants like emptying a bucket.)
EDIT: printers that dont use ink use ink powder, its actually really good because it doesent dry up and in my experience doesent smear the printed stuff arround if you rub on the paper, i have been using a powderprinter for like 5 years now.

First off the projector looks like the one I bought and it has like 360p or worse, so I wouldn't recommend it. Secondly teapot is fine but the root system will congregate to the spot you pour the water and this one evenly distribute the water so the roots will be more spread out. The roots congregating in one spot can make it so they fight for dominance and kill each other off or they smother each other. If you just turn the plant a little or water from more angles you shouldn't need to buy this one. Last but not least thanks for the great video looking forward to the next one.😎

Definitely shouldn't be washing hair down the drain if you can help it. Drains don't love carrying hairs, and eventually you'll be needing a plumber, or at the very least, needing to be using some very strong cleaner such as lye (sodium hydroxide) to dissolve it.
If you have a standalone shower, you may have a trap embedded into the drain which makes this a non-problem, but if it's a shower/bath combo, or just a bath, yeah, eventually you're probably going to have a very slow draining bath/shower.

Then you either use caustic soda and warm water to clear it (hopefully) or pay a plumber

Quite a lot of these are designed for accessibility for disabled people. A gadget may look useless to you but it could really help others. Not having a go at Amber but it’s just something to keep in mind!

The one with watering the plants allows you to get the whole area of dirt wet rather rhe water in one centralized area because the root system spreads around the pot.

I bought those LED dimmer stickers years ago as the blue standby LED on my monitor was bright AF.
I'm so glad I did. They are awesome.
If it is still too bright after using a stick, just add another.

In Germany, we say "Necessity is the mother of invention." . Most people wanted to do something, like not spill their drink or see in their handbag, thought about it and came up with a solution. Sounds easy but isn't.

12:00 Share another pro tip for cat people.. Get the breeze litter system. Throw out the pelets that come with it.. Buy pet/cat friendly pine pelets.. How this works is as the cats use the litter, it breaks up the pelets and they fall through the sifter where you have a puppy pad (dont buy theirs get generic 21x21 inch ones) it keeps the smell WAY down and clean up is.. ummm a Breeze? Sorry! lol

Light keyboards have been around for at least 20 years. Hopefully, they have improved enough in that time that they are actually useful now. They used to require just the right surface and would regularly miss letters and add ones you didn't touch.

I was never a fan. The best thing about a physical keyboard is the physical and auditory feedback you get from pressing the keys...light keyboard gives you nothing. And yes I'm one of those people that likes vibration and sound on my phones keys as well lol.
