8am-6pm is actually generous, london is 9.30am-8pm, would rather finish at 6pm. i passed my medical couple days ago and i start my training next month. appreciate the content
@@benmeager7929I'm about to start my training soon. I know a few of both. It's easy to become a retained firefighter in comparison to a whole time. The main thing to be retained is you need to be within 5 minutes radius of your local retained station, fit and clean records. Being retained does not give you a default advantage in the recruitment process for whole time. I'm fresh without any experience. I know of at least 5 retained with plenty of experience between them who were not successful. If you get advice from people like our guy, you will be ahead
Informative video as always pal, would definitely be good to see a night shift one too have always wondered what you lot do overnight when you don't have any schools or businesses to visit. Just cleaning? 😂
Love a night shift walk through mate💪🏼 start my training in August it’s nice to have a heads up before hand
Congrats man, I'm currently waiting for my station to get back to me. You got this
Just uploaded a night shift version

9.30-8pm sounds like a long day!
Can you talk about your experience with on-call firefighters? How are they seen internally compared to full-timers?
There are no on call firefighters in the brigade I work for mate
@@cameronmccleary still is there any difference in the way they are treated? bit of friendly banter etc etc 😂
