Your prop director done an awesome job setting things up for you to do the shot of you welding. Sorry.... I couldn't resist that one! 🤣 All jokes aside. It's great to see yourself and everyone else starting out with a top-notch season so far.
Pump looks great 👍 Im getting a bit of pollen today . The Manitoba maples should start giving nectar soon . Theres a lot of bees in those 📦 and theres heat coming our way they will be huge soon going to bee a good year🎉
FYI; Some VFD's do not tolerate lots of vibration, I am not familiar with that style of pump so you may just fine. Either way, she will make a good emergency spare. Great video, I am doubling down this spring. Just finished up shaking in 28 package myself, and gave them all the rocketfuel patties and syrup, splitting last years stock next week. It is Go time.
The bees have turned the corner and with some good weather and syrup you are going to be looking good. Get ready to be busy. No more winter wood stove warm ups. LOL
Similar here in Northeast Pa we had several nice fly days then it got cold I put apis Pattie’s on and open feed (which they can’t use) if they can’t fly several went from heavy to light I a weeks time! It can become overwhelming the huge numbers knowing there is zero forage! Love your videos!
Now that's a box of bees. I know you got to be happy with how things are progressing you can hear in your voice. We are experiencing a "textbook" spring here in WV and the girls are booming as well. I hope things continue down this path!! Do you expect to get back to splitting again? I know you haven't been able to do much of that the last couple years! Thanks for your time sir!
O Ian you better get your running shoes. If the weather improves and they get some real pollen you will be doing it all at once.. the equalizing, the doubling and splitting. I can't remember if you mentioned any drones or is still too early up there
Дивлюсь на таку силу сімей ,та думаю...якби був би ще один корпус для ціеї кількості бджіл ,то можливо було більше розплоду та бджіл . Вітання з України хай щястить у цому сезоні .😉
I typically call capped “honey” and open “nectar” or “syrup” depending on the time of year and if I’m feeding. The capped is likely syrup fed last fall. Just what I tend to say

Looking forward to seeing the difference with the controls without patties.
Lots of pollen coming in today at Altona, guess I'll be checking for syrup tomorrow.
It is heartening to see your hard work pay off.

When in doubt feed more is my motto for 2024.🙂
The amount of bees is crazy. If it gets warm they are going to keep you on your toes

Wow they are just boiling out, time to get some of the kids making Nuc boxes.
That strong colony looked like swarm cell central
I have never seen a single that full in my life, amazing stuff Ian!
Beau travail , Ian 🐝🐝 I hope the season give you a reason to need the new pump
The Canadian bees definitely eat a lot😂
🤝👍🇧🇷
Someone got a new smoker for Christmas!

Splits, yes😊

No drones quite yet
First of all, you rock!
Secondly what type of wood do you use for the lids and the bottoms?
Pine , plywood
I see you haven't got a 3m 6500ql or 7500 respirator yet. Also good for welding fumes :)
Do some hives have any pollen stored from your plants?
Very little in reserves
Hellol. How do you have bees?

Is that the same pump Phil bought?
Same shippment, now I just gotta figure out the wiring
How do you tell the difference between honey and syrup on the frames?
I typically call capped “honey” and open “nectar” or “syrup” depending on the time of year and if I’m feeding.
The capped is likely syrup fed last fall.
Just what I tend to say

Better feed today or could revert to cannibalism on larvae
