I think Roar is really underrated. There's a lot of Calm Mind, Swords Dance, Nasty Plot, Trick Room, etc. I feel like having a move that can go through protect and force a switch is pretty nice.
QOTD: honestly feel like the terrain moves themselves are pretty underrated and underused. Either by a fast or prankster Pokémon you can set up an easy psychic terrain as a counter to any priority you fear comes in and to take away that grassy terrain from rillaboom. As always thanks for the video
Iron Leaves definitely has potential, it’s just so much harder to justify over other Grass types and into several metagame options right now. Really like this team, though - I think manual E-Terrain is the best way to go for Wireless over here, because even if it can get overwritten by Rillaboom’s and Indeedee’s Terrains it still gets direct benefits from both of them and takes little damage from anything they throw at it save Rilla’s U-turn. I’d also have considered an Enamorus here personally. Pretty good stuff!
Me when i take x4 damage of urshifu and incineroar uturn also Moxie tried its maximum potencial using e terrain side sucker punnch weakness policy and psyblade still does nothing
i think GF need to add more pokemon that has the ability of terrain in the future. not many pokemon were able to bring in psychic, misty and electric terrain while many pokemon able to bring in and set up weather immediately, especially when the Tapus are not introduced in SV, making strategy like electric terrain not being common
@@CybertronVGC I've seen quite a lot of scarfed male indeedee spamming expanding force on the ladder. With the Chi Yu also on that team I imagine it was indeed scarfed?
For the QOTD, I was also thinking Wide Guard too for the same reason! It feels like we have at least a handful of viable spread moves running around, so having that move on hand feels nice when going against stuff like Flutter Mane and Chi-Yu 😅
thank you for the video! comfey mvp...!?! >:O it was nice to see the usage of iron leaves and heatran!! game 8 particularly caught my attention bc i (silly) was expecting rain but they used the urshifu and aggressive chien pao so well it was eye-opening and i learnt a lot from both sides, thank you!!! (qotd - with the upcoming patch fixes i hope we can see usage of dragon yell soon even tho it may not be the best move!! personally i want to see dragon yell with archaludon 🤭heheh)
I won at my locals with a very similar team over the weekend and I'm so happy to see Iron Leaves get more recognition. I personally like to run sash iron bundle in the team, hes very good speed control in electric terrain and can keep lando in check. Plus if hydro pump does land, he can keep pesky incineroars off the field.
@scottcrysel I found a shiny one on my playthrough and had to get crazy with it. Plus I'm a Shield player so I had to do something with Mr. Not-Torn aka Thunderus lol
QOTD: mist ball! I know it's latias exclusive but the 50% spatk drop while also doing very respectable damage was so so clutch for me at charlotte cause it's such an effective deterrent into stuff like lando-I, blood moon ursaluna/farigiraf, and bulkier flutter manes. I know it's not the greatest in the meta atm but I'd love to see the latis show up more.
One of the downsides is the small number of fire immunities. Stomping tantrum is good cause even if they switch in a flying type to dodge one, your next attack is doubled in power. Temper flare pretty much relies on getting faked out the previous turn to boost damage
@quaidreynolds4432 There is a stupid niche interaction you can play towards that won't work, and that's the Raging Fury attack they introduced alongside H-Arcanine Fire type Outrage essentially, once you're confused then if you end up hitting yourself then you can go for Temper Flare after that. Bad strategy, but a strategy nonetheless
A new move that feels underused is Upper Hand Being able to slap around Chien-Pao, tera normal E-Speed users, and slower fake out users like Rillaboom, Inceroar, and Iron Hands is pretty great
Ik trick still has some rather common uses and its tough in a big damage meta, but id love to see some other strats with it again like trick red card or trick ring target.
Opposing Tailwind was up and trick room was set: indeedee-M very likely outspeeds the Iron Leaves outside of trick room in this scenario. It seems aaron forgot about the tw
i ran into a very similar team yesterday (i think comfey was the only difference) and man even though i KNEW they were trying to get electric terrain up for an Iron Leaves in the back i was still pinned too bad to stop it and i'll just say that Iron Leaves came in and started hitting like a truck lol. Psyblade in electric terrain is nuts
QOTD: Definitely Quick Guard. I’ve recently used a team with Iron Valiant with it and Wide Guard and people don’t expect it, especially when leading with a Fake Out mon
Love the video as always Aaron! Is there any chance you could review and go over Wolfey’s winning team In his last regional? That would be awesome! Thanks!
Can you tell which Urshifu your opponent is running when you see the team preview? They look the same to me is it just a guess based on what their team is?
Unless I'm missing context for your question, it's just the purpose of Psychic Noise. When the move lands, the target can't heal by any means for 2 turns. The exception that I know of is the Regenerator ability, that isn't shut down since it activates after switching out.
@@peco595 my question is how did it not prevent it at 1:13:00 in this video? Do you have to use it on Comfey so it can't use the move? I thought it would stop the healing from happening on Thundurus...
Wait... it has Covert Cloak... would it have not received Floral Healing if it didn't? So it works for being healed in any way and stops healing moves use as well?
@gameboy8877 Would seem that rather than preventing the usage of anything that heals, it just prevents the target effected by psychic noise from healing in any way. I know things like recover, leftovers, berries, rain dish, Leech seed, Leech life, all that sort of stuff doesn't work. Or rather, it doesn't heal you, you might still be able to use the moves and it would only fail if healing was the sole property. I haven't tested, I've just read Bulbapedia and am guessing on some points. Point is, heal pulse would still be allowed, just not being used on the effected guy.
why heavy slam over flash cannon? i know it can have more BP (up to 120) then Flash(80), but with a minus attack nature does it hurt it more then it can help?
It's sort of a shame that we didn't get a more viable E Terrain setter (on switch in) than Pincurchin in S/V. I don't mind that the Tapus were left out this gen - I think it allowed more Pokemon to shine - but it would have been nice to have an E Terrain setter besides Pincurchin (or Miraidon I guess). Or for Pincurchin to have been buffed somehow.
Ok.. completely offtopic..but werk that new hairstyle!!😂❤ Looks great 🎉
He actually teased it on Twitter a few days ago. Was wondering when he would get to show it off in a video
he's channelling that wolf energy😂
Came straight to the comments upon opening to comment on the hairstyle 😂 suits you man and looks good
It’s so good

Man that endeavor whim in game 6 absolutely sauced you that turn with the urshifu. Can't believe you somehow won that
Wow! I'm very happy to have appeared in the video! thank you Cybertron, you are the best
Yo the cut is looking dope Bro!
In game 6, I'm pretty sure you outsped the Indeedee because it was trying to reverse your Trick Room.
Was thinking the same thing, very good chance they're Imprison Trick Room and they were gonna try to switch back not respecting Leaves dmg output
That would certainly make more sense than Scarf being the item!

Thunderous is just so good tbh, can pair it with contrary serperior and enamorus as well
QOTD: Temper flare is like really underused. like it will do massive amounts of damage in the sun and you fail to hit anything prior to it.
I think that unlike stomping tantrum, there are more powerful attacks to use. It’s too niche to rely on being faked out
