300mph HENNESSEY VENOM F5 FULL SEND! Flat Out Ride in the American Hypercar

- The Hennessey Venom F5 is a 300mph hypercar, made in America, and now at the Goodwood Festival of Speed! It's my turn to experience it with a full send run up the famous hillclimb course with Alex Brundle at the wheel... and it does not disappoint!
Only 24 units of the @HennesseyPerformanceF5 Venom F5 are to be made in total, powered by a twin turbocharged 6.6l V8 nicknamed 'Fury' that produces 1,817bhp (1,842ps) and 1,618Nm of torque. It's an entirely bespoke built hypercar with a target top speed of 300mph on the two-way average run, clearly boasting immense performance with figures like 0-186mph (300km/h) in under 10 seconds.
After we set off from the Goodwood Festival of Speed paddock, surrounded by a who's who of the latest hypercars, we'll chat with Alex who has been thrown into the hot seat of the car last minute for the hillclimb drives, and therefore on only his second time of the hill with it. Excitingly, Hennessey are now also announcing that they will introduce a Venom F5 Roadster, with 30 units to be made of the car sharing the underpinnings of the Coupe and the same Fury engine.

I like how usually these cars are driven by guys on the racing teams who have been with the manufacturer for years and years and but Alex only drove the car once a few hours before in the wet haha he did a great job.

I've been attending FOS since 2005 and can honestly say it's the best motorsport event in the world. Just incredible and so very special.

How can you 'honestly' say it is the best motorsport event in the world unless you have attended every motorsport event in the world? Seems a bit hyperbolic to be honest. For example, have you been to New Zealand's Leadfoot Festival? If not, perhaps you should reserve judgment.

Same thing except Pebble Beach is a car show where nothing moves. And GoodWood has a hell of a lot more stuff. Like... 10 times more.
This thing and the SSC Tuatara are a great pair to lead as America's hypercars. I wonder which one will end up being the fastest in the end. I think that'll come down to track length and/or tire compound. It would be a dream come true to see see the Venom F5, SSC Tuatara, Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut and Bugatti Chiron 300 side by side drag racing down a very long airstrip 😍
Neither of them are "hypercars". They run on show & display numberplates and are therefore NOT road legal in any country. Including the US. They are also not FIA approved. So they can also not go racing. These are not "real" in the same sense that other cars are designed or developed for the actual market. They have never seen the inside of a wind tunnel. They go directly from a 3D Cad drawing to assembly with nearly zero real testing or development. Everything is just computer simulated. And then they perform no crash testing, emissions certification, none of the important stuff required for production cars.
So they cant claim production world records if they are not production cars. Same goes for Cameroon Glickenhaus, and Czinger C21. You get more paperwork and certifications if you buy a lawnmower.

SSC Tuatara allready excelerated much faster in previous record runs!😉 I hope SSC Tuatara will be the first reaching for the magic 500kph...!😎👍
@@einautofan6685 Yeah it's unbelievably fast. I wish SSC could find a longer strip to do their top speed runs because that Tuatara hit 295 mph and and had alot left in the tank but had to stop because the airstrip wasn't long enough. But we still haven't seen the Venom F5 do an actual top speed run, so we can't say if the Tuatara accelerates faster right now. I'm sure they'll both be close, but I think the Tuatara will be quicker and faster just by it's smoother aerodynamic body. The Venom F5 looks great, but it's got some "boxy" body design that doesn't scream top speed king to me
@@toxicgracie3772 It should be able to break 300mph on the same runway since there was a second run where the car reached 258mph and two miles were left before the braking zone. The run was unfortunately aborted because the team apparently placed the cones in both north-south and this made the driver confused, thus he lifted off, killed the run. Unfortunately they couldn't go for a third attempt because winds got violent. Kinda team's mistake there.
Oh my, that's like dream traffic jam. It's unbelievable to see passing one car better than the other. Love it. I just watch the "Chat with Alex part" several times. Its from another world.
Very cool being able to go up the hill in that F5. Love that F5 plus all the other cars and trucks Hennessey offers.

Venom F5 and SSC Tuatara are maybe the pinnacle of American automotive industry...we may never ever get such a high power hypercar again...that F5 sounds high quality and when I see how it goes through bends at hight speeds woaaaaa no wonder that they outsold all boutique numbers...they could do 125 of them but why if they don't need 👌

Ssc had Nevada highway close to reach 300 mph they had the 1750 HP car
But they faked everything I don't understand why they literally faked everything fake 330 mph

Whenever you are at Goodwood getting to climb he hill in one of the latest and greatest, I always take the chance to look back at some of your past videos...my favorites being being the FXXK EVO and of course the Nevera! The Nevera may be one of my fav of you climbing the hill in. The driver really made that video entertaining by unleashing that cars full potential and truly sending it up the hill!! I dan watch that one over and over, in fat that's what I'm doing as we speak!!

Wish the SSC goes to Goodwood next year. They can break 300 easy since they did a 295 last time. Kinda sick of manufacturers claiming 300 mph cars without actually doing it.
SSC ran out of space. They need a much longer strip to actually see what the Tuatara is capable of. If they had something as long as VW's straight that the Chiron 300 used to hit 300, I think the Tuatara would crush it. It had much more left in the tank even at 295! Limited only by track length and tire compound....

@@mandilakhemaphikana7772 I have no clue. If I had to guess, I'd say the same airstrip that they used for their 295mph run. The 331 was found to be a false reading though. Either by accident or on purpose, who knows.

I watched a couple of Shmee's videos from the event, but this run seemed more crazy than any other - I literally checked if video was accidentally at 1.25-1.5x speed when they started going - it seemed like it can't be normal :)

I timed this run and it was around 55 seconds....the new M4CSL did about the same time! (650lbs heavier and less than 1/3 of the power of the F5)
