What I think it's dji's way around the inevitable ban
specta? dji looking for a backdoor, cause they are definitely going to need it in the not too distant future.

Yes, the battery and controller of this Specta are NOT compatible/interchangeable with the DJI's! Somebody at Amazon already bought the Specta, put a DJI Air 3 battery on it, and an error message popped up on the Specta's controller saying that a "Non-Specta battery was inserted and flying was disabled"!! So this Specta drone software-blocks the DJI batteries! This buyer wrote a review on Amazon explaining such experience, even posted a photo of the error message, and also tried to bind the DJI controller and it didn't work either!
I tested these. The triple fine 35 had software glitches we were working out. Mostly fixed by now. The Veenix is basically the same drone but for some strange reason had worse camera footage and responded worse. Veenix also had a battery issue (fixed). Out of the two both are made by sjrc and copied from the f22. Brands hiring sjrc to make them then tweak slightly for export. The original f22 is probably a better drone. The f22s same drone with frontal obstacle avoidance. The sjrc f22 is not u.s. market oriented no remote id (sadly it's cheaper). So we get the triplefine 35 which is about the closest thing you can get to the sjrc f22. Once software fixed the triplefine 35 proved to be a tough drone. I would recommend that over the veenix. Not just because the triplefine 35 is cheaper it also tested better (for me). Triple fine 35 is basically a stripped sjrc f22s. I tested it pretty hard. It did well (other than software being beta tested and fixed). The veenix... i liked the color. But something about that drone it really somehow seemed worse than the triplefine 35 and the sjrc f22. All versions come with nice bright led lights you can see at night and a landing light. The camera on the veenix, though supposedly being the same actually performed the worst for me. None were great but the sjrc f22 images probably the best, triple fine 35 a close second. Veenix the worst. None are really wonderful and no good in low light. But the veenix did the worst, and flew the worst.
Interested to see how the air will be.
If the clone is actually cheaper then it might be worth it. But remember that affects resale value, warranty and customer support. So it’s not anything I’d consider unless the cost is way less. I’d rather just buy refurbished original than a knockoff

Hmm... he just did a video on the DJI FPV Drone and the Mini 4 Pro...
I guess I don't understand what the hype is about? This drone is $1200, the Air 3 Fly More Combo with the RC2 is $1550. If you deduct the 2 spare batteries, the charging hub and the bag, you'll see that the Air 3 actually costs less than the clone. Oh and SPOILER ALERT: DJI batteries and controllers will not work with the clone. Not to mention how S.O.L. you'll be if anything goes wrong. However, since it's through Amazon, you may find some recourse... Unless this company bilks a few unsuspecting buyers and disappears into the sunset in a few months. I guess we'll see how it goes. Roll the dice and see how they land I guess.
Yeah, I noticed that as right this second, the equivalent Air 3 package is $100 less than the Specta.

Could it be a rebranded DJI drone? As a result of the banning of Chinese made drones in the US?

My very first drone was a Phantom 4. I started off spoiled. I’ve been 100% DJI since… Besides my Tinyhawk 2. Buying a clone isn’t an option. I would be concerned with quality control and customer service. Even DJI, the king of drones, has to make adjustments in firmware updates. I can’t imagine a knock off company providing the same quality and smoothness that DJI provides.
I’ll pay the extra for the peace of mind.
If you know anything about GPU binning and Six Sigma then that will explain the DJI/Specta thing...

Wow! I wonder if there's a lawsuit in the works over this Specta by DJI. The Chinese are the best at backward engineering a product. Should be one to watch going forward. I do find it ironic that a Chinese company is copying a leading Chinese company. I guess it was inevitable.

They all sjrc. Company hire sjrc to make under the f22 specs with little tweaks. Sjrc won't let them completely copy their f22 though so they scramble for software and get limited options@@HalfChrome
