  • Artemis 1 is a planned un-crewed test flight for NASA's Artemis program. It is the first flight of the agency's Space Launch System super heavy-lift launch vehicle and the first flight of the Orion MPCV. Artemis 1 is expected to launch February 2022. Hear from Comm Systems Project Manager, Yves Lamothe as he takes us on a behind the scenes look at the mission and how they are preparing for the launch next month.
A 5:00pm pre-show will take place with an interactive talk from an Intrepid Museum Educator.
The event is hosted and co-produced by John “Das” Galloway, founder of the Kerbal Space Academy.

This is the coolest thing I have seen on NSF in a while. I wish I knew Das did this before today!

I like how at the beginning we were invited to imagine "In Partnership With" instead of an infographic. Keeping it real NSF! 😄

This show is a great addition to the NSF channel - I've watched a few previous ones on twitch but it's easy to miss them. More space content is always good in my book!

I love the merge with this format, great addition. Would love some tank/launch m/star watching with the hostess of the museum or some other guests from this format.

A fantastic addition to NSF content, especially since I don't do twitch. Everything went great, maybe you could have a alternative theme song for these shows instead of the stealth "bye y'all" 😁

Das, been missing your voice on NSF; you always give us a good time and leave us excited for more Space News!🚀
Regarding SpaceX loss-of-signal, wouldn't the plasma produced by rocket motors broadcast loudly at radio frequencies that interfere when it bathes the drone ship's broadcast antenna?
One way to mitigate that would be to broadcast from a nearby support vessel, but that would take the autonomous out of droneship and cost a lot of money.
What SpaceX could do is launch an autonomous drone camera to record to chip just before booster landing, then play it back for broadcast after the plasma cloud has dispersed.

They should take some blankets up, and give to hospital patients and donations per square inch.

This felt a little awkward.... like they didn't research their guest very well and asked a bunch of questions that he wasn't qualified to answer..... also WTF was up with the passive aggressive comments about SLS? It may not be your favorite but SpaceX wouldn't be half as far as they are now without NASA funding and research libraries.
