    I just have to say, Patrick, you did a great job giving the tour. you were steady on the camera, took your time with description, knew what you were saying, moved all that stuff with one hand but still the camera was steady. that was as impressive as the Winnebago.

    Very well done demo! This is an impressive small RV, well thought out. Finally, a tambour door to bathroom, hurrah!! And also a hygiene hand sprayer by the toilet, very smart. Love the functionality and design elements. We are learning to compete with the elegant Euro models at last!

    Looking through all comments up till now (94 in total) it seems that none of the commenters really used this RV in practice: they only commented on what they saw, so it’s time I write down what we (my wife and I) experienced in this RV during our 4 week USA vacation in June-July 2016:
    Flew in from Munich (Germany, Europe) into Las Vegas and rented this RV from

      As an American who has traveled all 48 connected states, you're really better off renting a car and staying in hotels at night. The money you save on gas and the RV rental will more than cover the cost of the hotel, and in major cities like San Francisco or New York you'll have a difficult time finding a place to legally park an RV.

      Robin Sattahip
      Dear Robin, tanks for your feedback.
      In principle you’re right of course, but for us this is not an option if you know the places we visited in this particular trip (our 10th trip to the USA).
      We like the Colorado Plateau, so this year we mostly spent our time in southern Utah and a bit of Colorado, and those are areas where there are just no hotels at all, example: we went to Hovenweep- and Natural Bridges National Monument and in both places hotels are very far away. In those cases it sure is very practical to ‘be your own hotel’ including food and bed, and both of those places have campgrounds.
      A next time we also plan to ‘do’ the Hole-in-the-Rock road, and we sure do not want to return to Escalante every evening. If you’ve been on that road, you know why.
      But yes, if you stay on the main roads and in urban areas, then a rented car and hotels would be a lot cheaper.

    I have the Winnebago Travato 59K with solar panel and bike rack. It's the model with two twin beds and a nice, large rear bathroom. I love it. No major parking problems, easy to unhook when you want to leave your spot to get groceries, explore the area, etc. It doesn't compromise window space with a huge refrigerator/bathroom combo on the driver's side. Winnebago continues to keep up with what RVers want and utilizes the latest in European eco-utility and connectivity technology. The V-6 3.6 gasoline engine has been around for several years and has proven to be reliable and economical to run. The Ram Promaster drives like a dream. I can pull my boat/trailer at the hitch and still have two bikes on the rear door rack. Having had every kind of camping scenario from tent to pop-up tent camper, a pop-up hard-sided Chalet camper, a cab-over truck camper and two different travel trailers, this baby is an amazingly simple, elegant way to go if you don't need a 500 sq. ft. Class A home-away-from-home RV. Maybe what you really didn't like about it was this fellow's New Jersey accent. Got depth much?

    So hard to imagine what the world will be like when models like these are deemed 'antique' in a few short years! Technology moves and changes so quickly it's very difficult to get too stoked about 'state-of-the-art' vehicles, appliances, electronics, phones etc anymore :(

    • @LisaDawnn
      @LisaDawnn 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      ***** That's my point.
      It's almost like a complete waste of time, technology and money to keep 'upping' features every day.
      We truly create way more than we need and it just stops being impressive after a while.
      We are a very wasteful and disposal society and I just realized that after watching this video (for I'm in the market for a RV)
      Unless the next model can fly (or repair itself when it breaks down) they are improving unnecessary features just to inflate the price, ergo: line the CEO's pockets.
      (end rant)
      Peace~

    Very nice tour of the RV. I like it. Just that on fixed income, and not being rich, if indeed it is over $55,000 as some of the comments below suggest, it is way too much for me to invest in. • @PaDutchRunner
      @PaDutchRunner 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Alex Ponce de Leon I would argue that solar is not necessary if you’ve got a large lithium battery (like the new 48 volt 11K Ah units they are putting in some of the new GL and KL) and a large alternator, assuming you plan to drive the van modestly every two days or so, which most people do. Plus, Winnebago puts generators in most of these builds, making solar even less necessary. I say this as someone who converted a promaster myself and placed 900 watts of solar on the roof - it works for me because my van ends up being parked in driveway quite a bit, and the solar does a nice job of keeping the van systems running, including AC refrigerator, when not in use. However, I do not believe this is a common use case.

    I've always wondered why a camper needs two sinks. A kitchen sink and a bathroom sink in a *house* makes sense. But the only thing I can think of that you need a camper sink for is for brushing your teeth. Just brush your teeth in the "kitchen" sink. I'd rather get rid of the bathroom sink and have the extra real estate.

  • @ravenm.

    I find the negative comments about the price amusing. 80K is not bad considering a nicely optioned lux sedan runs much more, not to mention the interest on a self contained rv is tax deductible if you decide to finance. I think it's perfect not only for the extended vacations for two but the weekend runs to the park, lake or even tailgating given its relative compact size.

    Great compact caravan, reminds me of neo traveller z, which objectivelly i think has better floor plan, yet, not so bad if they add full solar panel, with cinderella toilet, and rain haversting-filtering system to fill the water tank.
    Rv park and camp ground are expensive these days, they are better for class a or b plus motorhome, yet for this size motprhome it is better to be on s0theside of the beach, lake, even the woods and as off grid as possible while doing outdoor sport

    Teeny. Tiny living area. Poorly designed. Am 6'-0" and feet have difficulty getting in and out from under that tray table. Two people sitting there would be tight and uncomfortable. The bed is ridiculous. Part of it is cut off at the feet on the inside due to lack of room in the interior. Would make for a much too tight nights sleep for two people. If two in the bed and the one by the window wants to get up to go to toilet, extremely difficult, have to slightly climb over legs of sleeping partner. Two people moving around trying do do things, extremely tight and uncomfortable. Was considering this for 84K reduced from MSRP of 91K. Liked screen sliding door, very light weight don't know how sturdy it would be. You mostly see white vans because they are much less expensive. I didn't buy tis and wouldn't simply because of what I consider insufficient interior space.

      40K? You could not buy the base vehicle for that amount, let alone the conversion cost

    The bed is the bad point. No one can sleep on a seam like that. So it might be ok for one person, but the other person is going to be sleeping in the crack. And the interior just seems claustrophobic for the $$.

    Se ho capito bene $ 16.000, in Italia ce li sogniamo dei prezzi così. Siamo proprio ben messi. Grazie politicanti.

    The storage space above the driver and passenger seat. Why not design the seats so that the back rests fold down forward. This would allow that storage space to be lowered into a sleeping compartment. With the extra space you could have a separate shower and toilet and a bigger kitchen area.

      +DormantIdeas NIQ Yeah, all you is a car or mini van. Tent, propane, extra water, optional dry ice cooler. All set for $200-500 for 1-4 week comfortable trip. No need to bring or wish for the moving micro house van when the great outdoors is your kitchen, living room, and bedroom.

    Those cabinet closure hardware cost to the public for $35 a pop. Can't wait for the patent to expire on those.
