      Winnebago actually is one of the best manufacturers and not only listening but seeking out input from end users across different demographics. A lot of the features over the last 10 years have been customer driven and Winnebago continues to try and balance exciting new features and taking the time to prove that the construction/technology of those features.

    • @MillersRV
      @MillersRV  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, from the factory you would have to leave it open hooked up to city water. The reason why is that the vast majority of the target market aren't using the units at campgrounds.

      It is the only way they offer the Ram chassis but not only has it been a great vehicle, it also allows for a lower overall unit height because you don't have to account for the height of a drive shaft under the living area. They drive great too.
      It's not definitely not designed for off road use, but most of our customers aren't indenting to use a b-van that way. For those that need that capability, we have several Mercedes or Ford Transit options.

      That being said, there are definite differences but both are on the same chassis so same drive/handling. The Travato has way more features, is available with full electric lithium package or generator and certainly costs more. The Solis gives a price point we haven't seen in a while and is also available in an even more scaled down unit without a shower. Floorplans are different and often that is the most important thing to a customer.
      Hope this helps a little.

The quality brands (hint hint) are ok for 1 or 2 people for day trips or long weekends but beyond that your limited. Theres very little room for any additional gear storage which for us was the deal breaker. Its not as bad as it sounds as we own one. They put the tank inside so it won't freeze in the winter for 4 season camping. All you have to do is get a short hose with a 90 degree elbow to place it outside the door. Simple mod for a big complaint.

    • @dwoodygura
      @dwoodygura ปีที่แล้ว

      We rented one recently and filling the tank was no big deal. Class B lovers are often travelers in lieu of long term campers. I idea is unplug and go. Plus outside water was an area that was more susceptible to freezing.

    This unit costs more than my 40' 4slide than my Monaco coach. There is no comparison to how little you get for the money in a van. The sticker on my coach when new $236,000, bill of sale shows sales price was $177,000 included washer/dryer, two heat pumps, 8KW On an diesel genset. Maybe someday these vans will sell for what they're worth.

    • @MillersRV
      @MillersRV  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      While I do understand what you are saying. Compare that $236,000 to the sticker price on a comparable class A today... Big difference. There are a lot of factors that go in to the pricing of B vans. You have to have similar technology to the big motorhomes, but make it much smaller. The tanks are also smaller so you have to have more efficient appliances. Chassis upgrades/increase in prices also play a huge role in the prices of b vans. And of course the demand does factor in to the price some as well. Just to name a few factors. Thanks for the feedback.

    • @MillersRV

      Our van doesn't have an awning attached to the side. My wife saw a video a couple years ago that featured an awning that wraps around the van 270º. It's called a batwing. It takes under 5 minutes to set up and take down. My wife has to use a short step ladder due to the high roof, and I use an upside down 5 gallon bucket. That's the only negative, but the ladder and bucket come in handy for a lot of things, so having them is great. Open back doors are fully covered and the side sliding door is 3/4 covered.

      It is strictly a model and floorplan number - 59 is the model, K, KL, G and GL are the 2 different floorpans with or without Lithium system. It is like a Lexus 350RX or a BMW 3 series - just designating what unit it is.

    Lots of complaints. One the control panel is not easily usable by someone with poor vision, or who is short. Those controls need to be lower, and larger to allow for easy visibility and access. Poor design. Second, too much stuff on rear which makes visibility poor. Not enough solar on roof. No storage for propane? Really? Sorry, won't sell one to me.

    • @MillersRV
      @MillersRV  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      A couple thoughts:
      They are developing apps for your smart phone to allow you to see everything on the monitor panel - part of their connected coach project.
      The ladder and bike rack on the rear would be a visibility issue, but the rear view "mirror" is actually a monitor that displays a camera view from the rear of the vehicle so there are no obstructions.
      It might be possible to add some more solar (a flexible panel on top of AC is a possibility).
      All storage on a B is a challenge and I can understand the propane issue but it usually more of an issue on our diesel coaches with LP generators.
      Hope this helped and b

      I'm answering this question multiple times. There are many mods but the most popular one is getting a short hose with a 90 degree elbow. Then the end can be installed outside the closed doors. They put the fresh water tank inside to make it more of a 4 season type van for winter use.

      @@LCLand The KL is nice, but we chose to buy the non-lithium model as we don't use AC much (or the microwave) as the weather is northern CA doesn't usually require AC. It does come with a 1000-watt pure AC inverter with two AGM batteries that can run anything else. It can be upgraded to lithium in the future with a simple modification. The lithium model does run about 25 K more too.

    Million dollar question? Single older guy who wants to LIVE IN this! In michigan with cold winters, is this Possible??

    • @MillersRV
      @MillersRV  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes. You would need some special equipment - heated water hose for example. I would also consider air skirts if you are going to be stationary. For heat I would consider 2 things. First would be the addition of an electric fan with a heater if you are staying at campgrounds. This would cut down on the LP gas usage. The second would be to add an "extend a stay" which allows you to hook up an exterior LP tank to give you increased capacity for your heater and other LP appliances.
