I went to Deadpool Wolverine on Friday night with a 50 year old female friend of mine, and she absolutely loved it. She saw the Marvels and hated it, and watched one episode of She Hulk and couldn't even finish one episode. If they stick to what they do best, they will attract men mainly, yes, but women also love the GOOD Marvel movies, gotta be authentic, though. Glad to hear they are cleaning house, it's sad that it took 5-10 years and lot's of screaming fans to do it, though.

At "Peak Entertainment," there were actual professional writers with a command of the English language from being broadly read, a wide variety of real life experience styles developed over decades in their respective fields to build from.
Not many 'writers' today have any of that, where before, a Good/Great writer was already a rare commodity. If it was easy, anyone would be a famous scribe. Today there is a mere fraction of that. There aren't enough of the Good/Greats left to fill the market, much less teach the 'new batch.'
I made a career as a writer/journo/editor, both in print and online, large corporate and freelance. When I medically retired in 2010, it was already bad. J school grads we got didn't know the 5Ws. The woke BS was already there with it's foot in the door. And quality fell off a cliff.
It's 14 years later and 2010 looks like a point to aspire to in retrospect. Who is left WITH THE ABILITY to do any better?

I don't believe disney has "finally realize" they're doing something wrong. They said the same thing a year or two ago when the south park special "Panderverse" came out. I think they announced on X or had a interview with some journalist and said something like "we will try better". IMO, it went in one ear and came out the other one. At this point, watching anything modern disney is a pass on my end besides the Blade movie because I want to see how bad it is.

The way I see it, this time it might actually be true solely because now its not just merely an attack on reputation. That interview in response to the Panderverse basically amounted to "Ok, we see that people don't like this stuff and are joking about it, cool. Why should we care lol?". Now though? Its way different when you see that their current marketing practices are ACTIVELY making them go bankrupt. They will have to care now that the attack is on their wallets instead of their reputation.
The Marvels is evidence of this. The project had a 270 million dollar budget, the highest budget of a non-Avenger related film EVER, and at the Box Office as already mentioned barely broke 200 million. If that is not a wakeup call that you are doing something very wrong, I don't know what is.

As a woman that enjoyed the MCU before the activism made it an unwatchable cringe-fest, I have to say it is not just the male audience. They lost the entire audience period. Women have the same expectations of good movies, too: to entertain and escape our daily struggles for a few hours and not be accused of being multiple -isms by the media we are paying to watch.

On top of that, his significance to the structure and success of phases 1-3 is questionable. A lot more talented people were more involved in It's success than him. Post-Endgame, Feige was made the head of Marvel - everything after that is on him, and it's all gone to shit. The best thing he could do for the future of Marvel is to fire everyone and then appoint else that will take the franchise in a direction that will lead back to profit and relevance.

It stands to obvious reason; whichever movies have garnered the most and highest box office revenues and profit MUST be using the correct constructive formula. I have no idea why they didn’t just continue with great story, great characters, and great concepts, rather than shit all over the blueprint with identity politics, ideological preaching, and bashing and insulting their core fan base (the people that fund the projects and lifestyles of all these actors, actresses, producers, executives, etc.)

The writing and storytelling was terrible. It was two hours of SNL and Robot Chicken skits with lots of cheap worthless fan service. It's worse than Love and Thunder. I'm honestly going to be thrilled if this news turns out to be true. The moment Feige said he could FIX the MCU it got my attention. And I saw hints of the fix, including in "Captain America Brave New World". Clearly Kevin is taking loose plot holes from "The Incredible Hulk". And using a movie that most people will hate as a Kickstart for his plan.
But never in a million years would I think Disney's higher ups would finally wake up. I grew up with Disney and hated when they jumped on the "wokeness" wagon. Disney turning away from their mistakes would be the happiest day of my life.
