    Hi, great video, just what I was looking for. By the way instead of using dpkg -i you can use apt install ./. I've read somewhere that it is better practise to use apt and it's also easier to remember, because we use apt install on daily basis.

      Hmmm... I didn't know that. I will check that way. Thanks

      If you can clearly explain how apt is different in Linux Mint from Debian, you are a genius!

    Thank you!
    NitroPDF was a software I loved when I used Windows and I wanted a similar software in Mint.

    Forgot to say: you can install pdfsam from the repository of your distro, but to have the latest version with all bugs fixed, it's better to install the deb package.

      Yes, I installed the repo version of it a while ago on 18.04 and it never worked. It displayed a Java error or something... I got sick of it and installed PDF shuffle instead. It's much more basic but works perfectly fine for what I need

    Hi Alu;
    Great video as usual.
    PDF master editor is a good one. The free version does what most people need.
    But the fastest is pdftk "cli". You learn a few commands but man it is fast and with very rich features.
    My Best and keep up the good work.

    Imagine that a fictional _package.deb_ needs to be installed and it has 3 dependencies that are not installed yet: _dependency1.deb, dependency2.deb_ and _dependency3.deb._ If you run _sudo dpkg -i package.deb,_ dpkg will install _package.deb_ but will not install those 3 dependency packages. On the other hand, if you run _sudo _*_gdebi_*_ package.deb,_ then gdebi will download _dependency1.deb, dependency2.deb_ and _dependency3.deb_ from the repositories and then install _package.deb, dependency1.deb, dependency2.deb_ and _dependency3.deb._ In a nutshell: as a general rule of thumb, using gdebi is preferable.

    I could do everything I wanted in Windows 10, but decided to go with Zorin OS 16, which I have been using now for about 3 months. Love the program but I have to keep finding programs to do what I wish with. Thank you for your excellent video and suggestion of using PDFSam. This is my program in future

    Seems cool, but LibreOffice Draw already comes pre-installed on a lot of systems and it can edit .pdf files too - even lets you change text.

    Which is the best app alternative for Onenote in linux?

    • @ruanmed
      @ruanmed 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I never found anything as powerful with built-in sync across multiple devices. But, I'd recommend you Zim Wiki if you want something as powerful as OneNote, CherryTree is pretty nice too, but not as powerful.
      For me, I'm currently migrating my OneNote notes to pure text, so I've chosen QOwnnotes because it has a nice folder structure, it's markdown based and can be synced with Nextcloud, which I'm using locally. (I also tried Joplin, but it was extremely slow to sync in new devices when the amount of notes was high).

      You can boot to a live Linux USB. From there you will use the terminal to mount your disk. Once inside, you can then reinstall grub and run os-prober. askubuntu.com/questions/88384/how-can-i-repair-grub-how-to-get-ubuntu-back-after-installing-windows
