- In this video, I will be giving Revlon ColorStay Foundation a second chance as I reviewed this foundation during my Foundation Wars and did not have a good experience. A few viewers gave me some advice on how to make this foundation work and I will be giving it a chance.

I live in a tropical climate and I love this foundation, it's my drugstore holy grail! It wears a really long time and it's sweat-proof & transfer-proof. Thanks to your videos I now know this doesn't pair up so well with the ELF Putty Primer. I was about to buy that primer but now I won't. 😄
I do definitely recommend the elf putty primer...for other foundations but definitely not this one.
It’s the weirdest thing, I’ve never experienced a foundation that didn’t need primer but can still do everything a primer can do! It’s amazing!!! 😊
Same. I live in extremely humid and disgustingly hot Florida and this is literally the only drugstore foundation that stays on my face. Especially in summertime but if u know anything about florida, it's basically summer year-round 😂🥵🌴

This foundation had been my favorite for years and now I went back to it and I don’t know why I quit using it in the first place is just beautiful 😻
I’m glad I did this series because I would have never known that I was missing out on a foundation as beautiful as this! I love that I don’t need so many products to make this work!! 🤗
@@stephanieholiday yes I don’t even have to use setting powder and it last on my skin all day I work long hours and go to the gym first thing in the morning and it last through it all 😻

Hi gorgeous, wow I wanna try that foundation though without primer look so flawless on you and btw I don't have that large pores but sometimes I apply some right next to my nose with Touch in SOL called NO PORE BLEM PRIMER and bought it at Sephora so far works better than other product that I tried before. Clinic had Pore minimizer ages ago, and I loved it...even with no other makeup, and on top of make-up. I hoarded a few tunes, and I still have like 2... at least a decade old and still works. 😳😂 I do wonder why I never hear anyone mention it because it is magic in a tube for pores.
It has to be because of their marketing…I feel like other brands make their marketing so fun as well as the packaging. I know others who love their products but I’ve just never been drawn to it.
I think I'm one of those few people that using primer not only doesn't help, but makes it worse. If it has silicone in, the disaster is assured... and believe me I have tried many, from very cheap to very expensive. On my skin, the less I apply, the better and more durable the makeup will be.
On the other hand, Colorstay has been my foundation for about 18 or 19 years. I have used the three different formulas that Revlon has made so far until today. I always try new foundations, it's very much my favourite make-up product, but I can't find anything that matches the qualities of this foundation. It's as if Revlon did it thinking of me. :)
I think your one of those few people who are super lucky that you don’t have to use primer 😆 I feel like the less product on your face the less you clog your pores, the less you have to touch up and the more natural your makeup looks 😊

This is a very late reply but I'm so shocked to actually hear of a person like myself. I have tried every primer in every formula. None of them help. At best they do nothing for me. At worst, they've actually wrecked my makeup. I religiously use Embryolisse Lait-Creme Concentre
as a moisturizer under my makeup. It's not a primer but I swear it makes a huge difference in my foundation.
Now, I DO always use an eyeshadow primer. I will use that even if I'm not wearing any eyeshadow. It's a color correcting eye primer and my lids have discoloration. That's why I use it even on no eyeshadow days...which is rare. I usually pop on some kind of shadow.

That is so strange not using a primer. Honestly, that can just save some time and money and who doesn’t love that! Your skin looked great at the end of the day. One trick I have to help the look of pores is to try an astringent, such as a witch hazel, before putting on makeup. Also, I’m not sure what you use as a moisturizer but products with niacinamide will help to diminish the look of large pores as well. You may also consider starting with retinol which purges the pores and makes them look smaller. Anyways babes, great video!!! I’ve got a whole list of foundations I need to try now lol
Good tips! I have a retinol toner that I use at night but maybe I can use that before makeup as well. I have to look into niacinamide. Anything that can help! 😊

The Creative Urge I use the Pixi Skin Treats Retinol Tonic toner, I really love it. There are a lot of timers that are too harsh for my skin but this one is perfect!

I know!! It’s so crazy and it actually works!! It controls oils and filled in my pores and wrinkles...I think it’s magic...not science...just magic lol

With this whole pandemic, I’m just trying to stay at home as much as possible and avoid people lol but once this whole thing goes away, I will definitely go back to the hair salon!! I miss my pixie so much!! My hair is growing out way too fast and is at a weird stage right now haha!
Ok, now I know why my makeup always look good before when I used to use this lol, I never put primer and I didn’t know about this lol and it always last me the entire day, the powder too! The only reason I stopped using it is because I always breakout from it!!

I had never not used primer with liquid foundation and I couldn't for the life of me figure out why people loved this foundation so much and then someone actually commented on my video that the foundation looks better without primer and I was blown away.
Elf came out with an oil control pore minizing serum. You should try it out!!

I actually do this. I fluctuate between their normal/dry and combo/oily and will also mix… depending on the season/humidity levels. ;)

Hey, what is the powder you used after the foundation?
Hi Misha! I use the Too Faces Perfect Peach Mattifying Loose Setting Powder - Translucent Peach Whisper.
so hard to blend blush or contour on top of it. Its like everything sticks to it.
I normally set my foundation before I put on my blush, bronzer, and highlighter and that's probably why I haven't noticed it. Try it that way and see if you like better.
Most professional makeup artists do not use primers. You do not need any primer if you prepped the skin properly. A primer will change the finish of the foundation you use and it is not needed if you have a good foundation.
Companies have been pushing primers on beauty influences to sell..it s a very marketing move
Hi what does it different with Revlon colourstay combination /oily packaging? I see it has two types of bottle one with the matte finish label another one is just different,too
For this video, I used the combination/oily since I have oily skin. I’m not sure why they have different packaging for the two finishes.
If I am not mistaken, the other one is for normal to dry skin :)

The normal/combination formula has hyaluronic acid for dry skin types while the oily/combination formula has salicylic acid for acne prone/oily skin.
The oily/combo version has sd alcohol in it, the dry/normal does not. I wanted to try the normal version but my shade looked completely different
