    Y'all either have a lot of writers we never see or y'all are fans of absolutely everything. Y'all seem to deeply understand everything you cover somehow. That gives off the feeling that you guys have seen every movie and tv show ever and impossibly understand them all in extreme depth.

    It is interesting to me that killing someone is seen as more evil than mutilating someone to complete defencelessness while they burn alive, arguably a fate with horrendous amounts of suffering. FWIW I know there is a lot of discussion about this online. Anyway, great video!

    That makes sense for Han Solos arc in the star wars universe (spoilers for solo movie)
    His journey is sort of a anti- heroes journey. Solo grows up without a father figure and is "the man" in his life for his lover.
    He promises to save her as what his role of a male partner is, but discovers that she doesn't need rescuing.
    Having Becket as a type of father figure, he is constantly told not to trust anyone.
    Despite seeming to not following beckets advice, he in the end does after all and becomes becket by "shooting first", Becket dying due to assuming Han is still too much of a trustworthy guy.
    We find him again in 'A new hope' as a guy that has lives with that code all his life, not trusting anyone. But does develop relationships with the other main characters.
    He is shown in force awakens that commitment and trust was never something that would last, and the moment he gives in to trust again, is the moment he is finally willing to become a father for Ben Solo, and dies similar to his own father figure due to trust.
    While Lukes and Anakins journey is all about defeating and become better versions of their father figures, Hans journey is all about trying to avoid becoming like his own father figures.

    This was pretty cool. It’s good to know your looking more into the Joseph Campbell influences have you read the book Joseph Campbell and the Power of Myth yet? There’s a very interesting part about the romance between the light and the dark and yin yang symbolism. Did you see The Last Jedi? What did you think of it? I’m not sure if you did an analysis video on it since I quit watching your channel after your video about Rey and Kylo. I really liked this analysis though it was a fun one.

    Can u comment when Obi wan cut darth maul in half. This would be counter to the Jedi way.

    • @sophiejones7727
      @sophiejones7727 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Obi Wan was clearly not really ready to be a full Jedi. The Council, more specifically Yoda, should have taken responsibility for Anakin since he had demonstrated incredible force abilities. Especially given his age and since he had also demonstrated an over-attachment to his mother and Padmé: understandable enough for a child raised in slavery. Their lack of understanding towards Anakin's circumstances caused the later events. Yoda and Obi-Wan, the two survivors, at least redeemed themselves by properly teaching Luke: which was a much easier task due to Luke's significantly more ideal childhood.

  • @Sam_on_YouTube

    Aniken loses 6 limbs, not 5. He loses his hand. Then he loses all 4 limbs, including his robotic hand. Then he loses his robotic hand again.

    • @OnoxOrion
      @OnoxOrion 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Anakin loses his right arm against Dooku, loses his left arm and both legs against Kenobi (but keeps his robot arm), loses his left robot leg against Kirak Infil'a, and then loses his right robot arm against Luke (but doesn't repair this)

    • @sophiejones7727
      @sophiejones7727 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Freud's theory about the Oedipus complex is not scientifically valid: however as a tool of literary analysis it is just fine, especially because the literary work in question was written by someone who believed in it's scientific validity. Fictional characters can reflect outdated or debunked scientific theories, and still work as characters. They should simply be taken as reflecting an older generation's ideas of masculinity and in fact provide an excellent argument for how toxic those ideas were. This is something we are struggling with right now in our society, and Star Wars is actually a major part of that struggle.
